Kevin Stanley has been so supportive right from onset. He is quite proactive and he is a go getter, he has a listening ear and he goes beyond just getting you a place, he is compassionate and his delivery of Stellar service is unequalled. I was to resume a new job in East Oxford and I needed to relocate asap as a result of many disappointment, while other agencies were following bureaucratic bottle necks of having to come in person for physical viewing before anything can be done, I received a video viewing almost immediately, I liked what I saw and I showed interest in it. The process commenced almost immediately and before the viewing date given by other agencies, I had concluded the renting process and payment for this property within 1 week, just awaiting rental agreement. Also, Scott Fraser is a one stop shop for all you need to move to your house - from renting to setting up your bills, council tax and everything needed all just through a click. I'm glad to be partnering with you in the journey of moving to Oxford, I sure will recommend Scott Fraser to anyone in the same position. Thanks for making my dream come through.

12 Rock Edge

We should have read the reviews about renting via the agency. Extortionist is the correct word for them as mentioned in the reviews. They just work in favour of the landlords. Very dissatisfied with their responses about repair works. We had problems with hot water in the property and were worried about our kids using the taps and burning themselves. The response we got was that to teach our 4 years old how to use the tap instead of trying to sort out the issue. This prompted us to serve the notice and leave the property. If you are going to rent 12 Rock Edge via these agents, I would caution against it especially if you have kids. One may get deceived by the spacious garden but the property is old and needs high maintenance. The landlords are not interested in spending much on the house and it gets an effort to get basic repairs done. The agents are also very unhelpful and the delaying tactics are applied. They just work in the interests of the landlords.Update:Since I am unable to respond to the agency's reply. Just a bit of add on about the role of the agency. First time was wasted on getting quotes for the problem we had raised. A lot of time was wasted in that and then they refused to sort it out. This meant that our notice was delayed and we were still forced to serve the notice period of two months by the agency. We raised tha issue on time so that our kids were spared from using cold water in winters. But time was wasted in getting quotes and inspections and then we got refusal. Yet, since we had signed the contract we were forced to live until December. Our kids were forced to wash hands with cold water since the hot tap temperature was too hot for them to use. We did request earlier release on account of their failure and the inconvenience caused. Yet, the agency were also working in favour of landlords and did not appreciate our problems. The email about teaching your child how to use hot water was a disgrace. The tap water turned hot after a single person using it, what would the rest of family members do. They had to use cold water. The only reason I am posting this is so that parents with kids don't get deceived by the spacious garden. We did this mistake and had to move within a year , as soon as we were released from the contract. Once you have signed the papers, the agents will just remind you of the paperwork which no one reads in detail.

We’re sorry to hear you feel so dissatisfied with our service. We aim to act as a bridge between tenants & landlords to ensure both parties are happy, however the landlord will always have the final say on work on the property.I’ve asked one of our team to contact you directly to discuss the points you have raised here.

Very Unprofessional, pushy, and completely unresponsive

Very poor experience with this estate agent. He showed me a property that was in an unacceptable state, messy, dirty, and clearly not cleaned or prepared for viewing. He then pressured me into signing up for a non-deposit scheme that involved a subscription fee, which I later found out is non-refundable under any circumstance. After that, he completely ignored my follow-up messages asking for updates. Unprofessional, pushy, and unreliable.

I had a very good experience selling my property with Scott Fraser due to Lydia Briars, who was extremely professional and efficient, and kept me informed at every stage of the process. Lydia was always available, she was very understanding of my particular circumstances and helped make a stressful process a lot less so. She really could not have done more.

Chloe was very professional

Chloe was very professional, she was familiar with the property we were viewing and could answer our questions, and she welcomed our feedback afterwards. My only general observation is that 15 minutes is a very short timeslot for a viewing, and we were rushed at the end as the next Cient was waiting to view. Otherwise the process was handled very smoothly, thank you.

DO NOT GO NEAR THEM! If I could put minus stars I would

If I could put minus stars I would . DO NOT LET WITH SCOTT FRASER!!We arrived with MULTIPLE breakages and damages including the bathroom window which only got fixed after 2 YEARS! Lived there for 2 years and only some maintenance failures and breakages (that were there at the beginning) were fixed. Garage was falling down and an absolute joke. They asked us to pay a renting membership instead of deposit and when we pulled out to pay the deposit they took 5 months to sort it and wrongly continued to charge us ‘renting membership’. At the end of our time there they had the cheek to charge us with the breakages that were there at the beginning despite evidence of our reports.

We have been searching for the renting property over a couple of months in East Oxford. We haven't had a good experience with any of the lettings agents with whom we have dealt before. Kevin from Scott Fraser has done a exceptional service and he was very supportive and responsive throughout the tenancy process. He has kept us informed about the progress with our tenancy. He helped us to sort out the process in a smoothly manner. We would really appreciate his service and recommend him for anyone. Thanks Abdul Mohamed A

It was a beautiful experience in East Oxford.

It was a wonderful experience. Covered all topics with a smile and made us feel comfortable with the viewing. In terms of getting in contact and communicating with the agent she showed dedication to her job by not only replying quick but also with detailed answers for any questions we had. Good quality traits for someone who quite recently started their job. So appreciations go to Scottfraser and their wonderful upcoming team…especially Chantel!

Appalling service to uni tenants

Appalling service to uni tenants. ScottFraser staff continually fobbed my son and his housemates off, for the disgraceful state of the house in Morrell Avenue Oxford.Mould, damp, doors that could not open, raw dirt water standing in the drains. These were all problems they pointed out at the beginning of the tenancy and they remained the same as they left a year later.Added to which 8 weeks after the property was vacated we are still waiting for our deposits back. The house was left in a better state than when they moved in and no claims by the landlord.Complete and utter disgraceful service, taking advantage of young people living away from home for the first time.

I met kevin stanley at east oxford branch to rent a 2 bedroom property in the area of east oxford. Kevin was very much helpful to me in finding a house. He very patiently explained me the whole process of how it goes in membership deposit scheme. When some of the properties which i saw were already let, he made me to view other houses online and also physically to decide and at the property, he explains everything regarding it clearly so that it made me to take a correct decision. I really thank him so much from the bottom of my heart. Thanks, Nishanth

We rented a house with Scott Fraser…

We rented a house with Scott Fraser after a few disappointing experiences with other letting agencies. They seemed more reliable and professional, but we were completely wrong. The lady who was doing the process of renting with us sent me an email about something called Homeshift. According to her, it was a site where we could register to have a place to manage all of our bills all together. I asked if it was mandatory, to which she said no, so I emailed her saying we did not want it.After getting all the paperwork done and all ready to move into our new flat, just by chance the lady from the agency told us the move in date had been pushed forward for a month since, according to her, they had to clean the property. That caused us problems with our landlords at the time. When we moved into the property, it was absolutely filthy. There were stains all over the walls that were not there when we went to see the flat, the carpet was disgusting and the house was full of dust everywhere. We had to deep clean it the moment we arrived. The inspection of the property that they did was not very thorough, since pretty evident things like the fan on the toilet and the switch on the living not working, a completely cracked board on the bed or a massive gap in the kitchen boards were not noted. We reported everything, they fixed the lights and the bed and the property manager asked us to record everything on the blank pages of the inventory and sign it and send it back to her, which we did.In the documents sent by the agency, it was detailed the electricity and gas of the property were operated by SSE, and that they would send us a letter with the first bill and account number. Our surprise was when SSE told us they were not in charge of the gas since February (we moved in March), but a company called Homeshift. Turned out it wasn't a platform to manage your bills as they said, but a gas company. Scott Fraser opened a contract with them in our name since February, even though our contract started in March. When we googled the company, everything on Google was talking about this company being reported as a scam. When I told the property manager, she said she was not aware of this and offered no help. We sent them the contract to prove we only started living there in March and closed the account, but even after starting with SSE they still wanted to charge us saying they were our providers and we had to threaten them with getting lawyers involved for them to stop.During the 2 years we lived there, we had 3 property managers, who changed without notice, making it very difficult to have someone to contact. We also had people coming into our house with their own key without prior notification while I was sleeping or showering 4 times, even though our contract clearly said we had to be notified 24h prior to any jobs being done and we had to give our consent to anyone being given the key if we were not going to be in the property. Since SF were not caring about this, I was eventually advised to call the police if this happened again. We simply made the decision to leave. When we left, we vacated the property even early, left the house completely clean (we even fixed all the wall marks the previous tenant had left) and waited for them to tell us about our deposit. This had to be chased several times, and then they inisted on charging us for the kitchen board we had reported broken when we moved in. I sent them the evidence that we reported that the moment we entered the house and yet they did not care and wanted to charge us for it.Don't rent with them, they will break your privacy all over again and scam you as much as they want.

From closing the office without warning a few hours early after you make a 2hr trip from Sheffield to pick up keys, to rude staff. After 3 years being a tenant with Scott Fraser, I don't know why I am still surprised with such poor service. I am currently looking for a new place to live since my landlord is selling. Every other estate agent I have contacted has always got back to me. Most recent interaction with Scott Fraser:a July 12th - I first asked about the property and discussed rent pcm. July 14th - I asked for an update, no response. July 17th - I called asking for an update - I left a message as no one was there. July 18th - I again called and was told by a female colleague that she was covering as the manager was now on annual leave. She said she did not have any information if the landlord had been given my offer. July 19th - I was emailed with an application form to complete. I had wrongly assumed, since a week had passed, that my offer was being given to the landlord. This was not the case. I completed and sent the form back the same day. July 20th - I emailed to ask when I could expect to head back. July 21st - I was told Scott Fraser were unable to open the file I had sent. I replied back on the same day with another copy. July 25th - I asked for an update. No response. July 26th - I asked if there was an update. No response.

Stay away - they have no idea what they are doing

Based on our experience as tenants in Oxford with SF, who both let and manage the property, we found SF to be unresponsive and unprofessional property managers. Here are some of the issues we encountered:- SF failed to complete the inventory before the tenancy commenced.- It took months and several official complaints for SF to address serious issues such as a radiator falling off the wall, a broken toilet, and damages caused by contractors to the property.- SF failed to register a property check visit and attempted to schedule another one two months after the initial visit.Having rented properties both nationally and internationally for years, I can confidently say that this is by far the worst property management company I have encountered.

Open, honest, seamless!!!

I’d had dealing with another agency and I have to say that compared to my previous experience, Scott Fraser are an absolute dream to deal with. Boris has been excellent - responsive, personable, friendly, open and honest, he clearly articulates all requirements and has managed my expectations brilliantly. Boris explained that (unlike my prior experience with a local competitor) SF do not play renters off against each other. There are no gushing application letters required to the landlord; no offers to be made above asking price; no hard-selling, just transparency and a super easy, well supported, efficient tech package to make the process seamless. Boris is an excellent communicator, handling everything for me as a single point of contact and putting up with my pestering like a pro!I cannot thank Scott Fraser and Boris enough for helping me to secure my dream home in the country!
