Very pleased that Marc and Karine were able to secure the full asking price rent, for an extended period. Marc and Karine persevered when prospective tenants did not complete their references, and found replacement tenants quickly. They kept in touch by phone throughout.

GoogleHorrible experience from beginning to end. The property was unfinished when we moved in and was covered in mold. Now we have moved out they have refused to even respond to any enquiry of the deposit being returned.

GoogleI usually don't review anything publicly and as a single mother receiving benefits I am already used to been discriminated by the estate agencies but my experience with Sergio left me speechless, and not in a good way. From the beginning I felt like I was treated as a second class citizen. Because of high childcare costs I had to make the decision earlier this year to stay home with my daughter, and not going back to my well paid job, go to self employment, and I was looking to be moving in with my daughter's financially stable godfather who has taken the role of her father, because her father is not in the picture. So on my way to the viewing I got a call that the landlord has lost the key and they will not be able to show me the property. I was upset cause I was taking an uber with my daughter that cost me £40 one way and was almost there. After he had made couple of phone calls Sergio got back to me saying that the key was found and the landlord would come to show me the property. I was grateful because he had made the viewing possible, so I do appreciate that we didn't pay the trip for nothing. I met the landlord, and talked to her about my trip there and my situation, and yes, mentioned that I was happy that I didn't have to pay uber £80 without seeing the property. I did get a vibe from her that she might not like my appearance (I have visible tattoos) but again it is something I have gotten used to. I understand that some people don't like them and associate tattoos with drugs etc but I don't have that kind of past or present. I just happen to like them. I tried to ignore my feeling and chatted away leaving the property in good mood. We decided to make an offer for the property and the next day talked to Sergio who now unwillingly took it. I was talked to like a child or a person with a minuscule IQ about the things we needed to provide. Paying for the rent and deposit was never our worry, and we were more than capable of paying both. Soon after that I got a call back saying that we were rejected on the counts that the landlord wanted "working professionals". I truly believe in persons right as a landlord to rent to whom they see fit, but what got me off guard was that the landlord had told Sergio that she had given me money for the bus that we could get back home (!?). She definitely did not, and if she would have offered I would have refused to take it. I felt like I was not believed. This made me feel like "working professionals" was only an excuse to not rent to us. As an icing on the cake the phone call was cut short because someone else was calling Sergio that was, and I quote, "very important". He never called me back. Needles to say after this experience I felt extremely "not important". The only reason I am not giving this a 1 star review is the fact that at least they didn't shot me down straight away on the first phone call when I told them I was a single mother receiving benefits, but I guess if they had I would still have my £80 that I paid all by myself for the trip, not feeling like a piece of garbage, and my daughter wouldn't have had to throw up in the car.NegativeProfessionalism

GoogleWe had an overall very good experience with Martyn Gerrard .Searching for a new home especially for renting can be very tedious and tiring if we dont meet the expectations and right one we wish for . The kind of efforts have been very difficult but cannot forget to appreciate the responsibility taken by "Sergio ". Sergio have been rightly with us from finding the house we desired and made the it huzzle free . From the quality of their virtual tour to them bringing all their agents to hear what we thought was great about our house, they offered a better service than was on offer elsewhere. Faysal in particular was brilliant and handled our sale in a really communicative way, always willing to talk, help get things done and support us with things like our onward purchase even though he didn’t need to. GoogleI first contacted this office around July to request them to sell my flat as part of a dual agency agreement. The start of this (the first 6 weeks) seemed to go ok with some viewings lined up. After this it was clear Martyn Gerrard was only interested in getting us off their books as we were ruining their sales statistics. This was indicated by a conversation with them requesting us to reduce the property price by 50k (more than 10%) to sell it and trying to convince us we could still get more than the price we were asking for as people would make offers over the asking price. (I should add noone had previously said the initial asking price was too high and it had been previously been valued at 25k more by another agent). I rejected this strategy after which they suggested that if I didn't want their expertise I should leave them earlier than the 12 week contract duration. We have since reduced the price (by 25k) to encourage more viewings and then the branch manager called me telling me that as I don't want their advice they don't want to market my flat after that day. Previously when I have terminated contracts with estate agents I have had to give 1-2 weeks notice as a courtesy. The agent returns the keys during this period. However in this instance I was been given 12 hours notice and was met with awkwardness and excuses (i.e. we don't usually do this) when I requested the keys be returned to me in person by the end of the day (as previously stated that was the end of the notice period). Additionally for those who don't know, we are currently in a worldwide pandemic and I have found out that the agents have been showing people around my home without covering their shoes up or taking them off. Basically they have been treading dirt and germs from the Covid infested streets all over my floors. I have a young child who is crawling on these floors on her hands and feet. I have lodged a formal complaint within Martyn Gerrard about all the above and after a half-baked investigation (i.e. a chat over coffee most likely) the complaints agent has concluded that all the above was in order and that if I wanted the agents to comply with specific requirements RE Covid safety I should have formally requested it (even though I'm sure I did). It became quite clear from his email he was "mates" with the manager at this branch and there was no intention to provide me assurance something would be done about this (i.e. reprimand). So in short: If you want to be treated professionally & with respect, have you property sold for a decent price without extortionate commission, and be safe from Covid this winter, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

It was Faysal that found the buyer for the property and he really took the stress out of the sale process. His knowledge of the local market is excellent and had a great instinct for who the right buyers would be. Most of all he achieved a great price for my property. I would definitely recommend the company and will use them again in the future.
