Do not rent from Dixons!

Do not rent from Dixon! I am currently suffering because of their lies. When viewing the property, Amber (Yardley branch) assured me certain issues would be fixed. She then called.me to say they had been. As soon as I moved in I realised she had lied. The shower floods and the kitchen has a leak which is now flooding the floor. It has been 2 weeks since I reported it, still nothing from countrywide. Avoid Dixon, Countrywide and save yourself future hassle.

Selling houses is stressful. Except for Dixon's Yardley who are quite frankly mad for it. Faye will list your home and get a buyer and Zoe will hand-hold, trouble-shoot, metaphorically bang heads together and keep everything on trackThese guys are as cool as cucumbers and won't let you downEstate agents get a bad rep. Avoid renting from them!

Rented flat - Longley Walk, Chelmsley Wood.My partner rented a flat from Dixons for 12 months, on check-in the property had various marks and smudges and was far from pristine condition. I myself have worked in property lettings for 11 years and I deal with all aspects from check in, check out and releasing deposits on a daily basis, so I know exactly what is and is not acceptable. The flat had tiny electric wall heaters that were not wired in and did nothing to heat the flat, these heaters were not mentioned on the EPC as it had Blown air heating when it was carried out and would mostly likely fail a new EPC, you could see your breath in the flat it was that cold. Various repairs and the poor heating was reported to Dixons many times and even mentioned during an inspection but nobody ever got back to him even when he called up to chase. Before check out myself, my partner and his parents cleaned the flat, it was left in a cleaner condition than when he moved in. He then received an email from Dixons to say the landlord would like £190 towards cleaning. The deposit was on the insured scheme where the landlord holds the deposit and pays a membership to insure it with MyDeposits, this means MyDeposits always sit in favor of the landlord as they are the paying member not the tenant. With this in mind we disputed the deposit and sent photographic evidence of the cleaning and condition plus the emails shared, the deposit should have been released in full but they still took £145 of it and awarded the landlord. My advice is avoid renting from Dixons and always avoid signing up for a deposit on an insured scheme, the tenant will never be in a fair position.

Yardley branch outstanding

Used the Yardley branch to sell our property. We started discussing possibility of selling about 6 months ago but still had reservations as we hadn't decided when we wanted it to go on the market. Faye from Yardley branch was amazing, she kept in touch with us regularly and when we were ready to sell, she made the whole process so easy for us. Naomi from the same branch arranged viewings and she was so friendly and professional. We ended up with a serious buyer within 3 days of the house going on the market. Disgusting service

I have tried to contact Dixons on several occasions left messages no one has ever called me back. I did an experiment and called each of the 20 branches and all of them went to answer machine.Absolutely disgusting service. It's ok for them at the moment because the market is booming but watch this space when they need your custom. I am an investor buying and selling houses all the time, I would NEVER use them to market my properties

I will now tell you my experience…

I will now tell you my experience regarding this agency. Husband and I moved in a property in 2020, I was pregnant back then with my first kid. 2 weeks after we moved, the boiler broke. We immediately contacted the agency and let them know, pleas note, a boiler broken is an urgent matter as we had no hot water or heating. They sent a dude that said that thing was older than his kid and he's shocked regarding the state it is in. Well the landlord then asked another guy to come and check it out, dude took 2 more weeks to come and fix it. I spent 3 weeks in total, pregnant and ready to pop, without heating and hot water. Had to boil water on the stove and wash myself like that. We said, whatever, after getting it finally fixed, we minded our own business and didn't bother them with anything else....even started fixing stuff ourselves because we knew we won't get a reply.Well a month ago, we reported rodents and a leak....a LEAK in one of the bedroom, which again please note it's an urgent matter. Reported both and we are still waiting for a reply. We all left the house to visit parents outside the country and surprise surprise when we came back the whole house was covered in rat/mouse poop and pee. During this time, I kept sending them emails regarding these issue....nothing....they only send back automated messages that "oh we tried to contact landlord" or "we are sorry landlord didn't answer, we'll keep you updated". Right.... When I called the guys on the phone was mocking me that "oh, you guys never seen a rat or had one in the house?". Really? You're telling me, that I should just accept the fact that there is a rodent going crazy in my house and made me throw good food because you couldn't get bothered to bring someone to kill it.... I won't even being the leak in the discussion, when something is labeled as "urgent" and you take over a month to fix that issue...that's not an urgent matter then. Please avoid this agency, they don't care about you as a tenant and won't help you out with the issues you have. They are very fast to send renewal contracts with 3-4 months before your tenancy contract expires and email you every day until you make up your mind and even call you, but won't do anything if you contact them with a problem.
