Poor Leadership = Poor results

Philip Ribon in the Bridport office is extremely difficult and unpleasant to deal with and we reccomend you use any other estate agency than this one. He writes rude emails when he hasn't followed things up, blames the client and is ineffective in selling houses.

Jackson-Stops Dorking have been truly amazing at helping myself and my wife buy our forever home. Chris who we dealt with most went over and beyond a number of times to help things go as smoothly and as quickly as he could. When we completed and collected the keys all of the team greeted us in the shop and were very happy for us and even gave us a bottle to celebrate.

Really disorganised at every level. Repeatedly contacted with the same queries from different colleagues, they didn't log information, we weren't kept in the loop at all. On top of that very unapologetic about their lack of coordination. Will never use again.

A somewhat belated review - Richard sold our Northampton house in 2016. I felt the team at Jackson-Stops & Staff did a really excellent job in selling our house. The brochure was well put together and had really superb photographs - it made our Victorian townhouse look so good that I had serious second thoughts about selling it. However, and more significantly, the price they suggested marketing our house at was quite a lot higher than rival agents had suggested. Jackson-Stops only seem to market good quality properties, and ultimately Richard's judgement of the market and his perception of the qualities of our house proved accurate. We achieved a sale at a price that was very acceptable to us. Far and away the best agents to use in Northampton, and if their other offices elsewhere are as well run, a firm I can wholeheartedly recommend, both for buyers and sellers.

We would be very happy to recommend Jackson Stops in Dorking to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and professional local agent. They handled the sale of my late grandmother’s house, and though it wasn’t a quick process we were very happy with their perseverance and impressed by their good communication, help and advice. Pushy and rude

Apart from being 45 minutes late (they had forgotten about me) to a viewing I had arranged the day before. The follow up phonecall from a lady was awful. She was so pushy and arsey in trying to get me to make an offer, and was really rude when I wouldn’t give her personal details she was asking for. She kept saying she was old fashioned and thinks certain things should be done in a certain way, but if you ask me she should be saying she’s out of date. Complete lack of customer service. I was still keeping the house as an option if we changed our minds, however I have binned the brochure and will definitely not be making an offer thanks to this woman completely putting me off. It just confirmed even further that anything to do with this house is just hassle!

Jackson-Stops are without doubt, the best estate agents in the area and I state this based on our own house sale experience recently and also previously in the late 1990s with my father's property. Our house was under offer within 2 weeks of the board going up (JS got the price absolutely at the sweet spot) and the entire process was managed seamlessly. The regular checks by Nicki P with both parties solicitors, often with little nudges to remind of timelines, took a huge weight off our shoulders as she ensured that everyone stayed on track. All the staff were involved at some stage and the JS teamwork, good humour and professionalism meant that there was practically no stress for my family. A huge THANK YOU to all at JS Team Dorking!

The big move!

This was my first time moving out from home so it was a momentous occasion for all involved. Our estate agent, Jon Sowton, was excellent and made sure everything ran smoothly and has kept in regular contact since to make sure we are ok. Everyone that myself or my mate have been in contact with at Jackson-Stops has been really helpful and professional. Extremely rude and unproffessional

My flat mate and I recently booked second viewings on two rental properties with Jackson-Stops & Staff. The first was booked for 12pm and the second for 12.30. Whilst on route we got stuck in traffic and I immediately called the office to tell them we would be around 10 minutes late. A few minutes later I was called by Liz (a Saturday assistant) who was due to be showing us around. She was extremely rude despite me apologising for the delay. I suggested that if we were too late we could skip the first viewing and go straight to the second as this was the property which we preferred. Liz told me that she 'didn't understand my logic'. She also informed me that she was so cold that she simply couldn't wait outside so she had already gone in. We arrived at the property a few minutes later (around 12.10) and she said we could have an extremely quick look. The entire time she was talking about how she had other viewings to get to. We left and she then informed us that she had not brought her car or the keys for the second property so we would need to walk for 10 minutes back to the office - this was cutting in to our viewing times but she claimed that the fact that we were in a rush was entirely our fault! She suggested that we walk to the property whilst she drove, but I pointed out that this would clearly take even longer and she agreed to let us in the car. As my friend went to get in the front seat she told her to sit in the back as she needed to put her paperwork there - she proceeded to lay two sheets of paper on the front seat. As we drove she repeatedly spoke about she had to get to another customers viewing in 15 minutes so, again, we would have to look around very quickly. She said that 15 minutes were scheduled per viewing but yet she had to be at the next property 15 minutes after our appointment began! She said the next viewing was for a sales property so it was important that she was on time. We were astounded that she was openly telling us that her next viewing was more important than this one. When we expressed our dissatisfaction she became extremely defensive and argued that she was simply being 'direct'. We were disappointed as we liked the properties but simply couldn't work with this agency. We have seen many properties and never received such bad service. Avoid at all costs!

Darrell Hughes and the entire Dorking team are fantastic. Always positive, happy, hard working and professional. Every stage was easy. We worked with them for the sale of our house, and purchase of the new house. The photographs and brochure of our home was excellent. They had numerous positive viewings within a few days of going on sale, and were always courteous about when to conduct the viewings. Unprofessional Conduct

This is a complaint with a solid foundation. My partner and I wasted over a week negotiating to rent a property and the Associate Director with whom we were dealing with, never once returned our calls or called back when he said he would.We spent over 6 hours travelling to and from where we live to do viewings and on the final viewing we even took my step - daughter and step son to show them this is where we are going to live!The Associate Director told us on our final call with him he would call us back by the end of the day (Friday 10thFebruary or Monday morning 13th Feb) When we didn't hear from him, my partner called the office and was told, he is out of the office for a week on holiday! So he had no intention of calling back, this is so unporfessional and for this reason it is indivduals like this, that get estate agents a bad name!
