We sold our house through the Jackson-Stops, Bury St Edmunds office. We knew the staff there from the original purchase of the property and were so pleased with that experience that we chose them for the recent sale. The team in Bury St Edmunds were effective from day one. The marketing material was well thought out and very professional. The task of showing potential purchasers around the house, answering their questions and working with us to keep them well informed worked very well. As exchange and, ultimately, completion days came and went, the team shifted up a gear and it all happened in a blink of an eye. Working with Jackson-Stops was a pleasure, a 5-star experience. I first met Lucy when she showed me around the property I have now purchased. From the very beginning, she made me feel relaxed and comfortable. Lucy was highly professional whilst maintaining a warm and friendly approach. She was able to answer most of the questions I had regarding the property and, for anything she was unsure of, she ensured I received a response either the same day or shortly afterwards. Lucy went above and beyond throughout the purchasing process, making sure I was never left out of the loop. Regular updates by phone and email meant I always felt informed and reassured during what can often be a stressful time. Her warm, approachable manner made the whole experience far easier to manage and I genuinely felt very well looked after. We had an incredibly positive experience selling our home through Jackson-Stops Northampton. We couldn’t fault the service we received, from the initial valuation right through to completion. We priced our home competitively and secured multiple offers within a couple of weeks, achieving the guide price. Sadly, we lost our buyer a few weeks later, but we went back to market and, once again, achieved the guide price within just a few days. Sadie on reception was always incredibly helpful and efficient, particularly when arranging viewings and providing us with feedback. Ian Denton handled our sale, and we couldn’t recommend him more highly. He was professional, proactive and went above and beyond throughout the process. We were buying an onward property through a different agent and, unfortunately, had a very poor experience with a lack of communication and proactivity. Ian was instrumental in helping to keep our onward purchase on track, regularly chasing the solicitors involved as well as our onward agent when necessary. An honest, professional and genuinely helpful agency. We would thoroughly recommend Jackson-Stops to anyone looking to sell their home.

Poor service

Asked to view a property on Bures Road and was told I had to provide proof of funds before even being allowed a viewing. I understand proof of funds is needed at offer stage but demanding it just to view a house is unnecessary and comes across as rude and intrusive; the tone felt more like an interrogation. And for clarity, questioning an asking price is not the same as being unable to afford a property. In a previous transaction, we declined to overpay for a house we did not believe was worth its asking price, and it later sold for significantly less. That is a valuation judgement (a mistake by the same agent), not a funding issue. In any case, the interaction felt dismissive, rather than professional. Plenty of other agents manage to handle high-value properties professionally without treating potential buyers like time wasters. So choosing to take my business elsewhere.

I put my house on the market with Jackson-Stops, Dorking around January 2024 but it didn't go actually live on the market until 1st May 2024. In November 2024 a purchaser came around a couple of times and made me an offer for which I accepted. The whole process to exchange and completion took less than 16 weeks as I moved out of the property on 24th February 2025. I had initially written off two years to sell the property (so May 2026) and was absolutely amazed / gobsmacked that it went through so quickly. I have never sold a house before in absolute record time. The team at Jackson-Stops are sincere and professional, as soon as we had a buyer Lucy was on the case right up to completion liaising with all the chain on a weekly basis. Jackson-Stops, Cranbrook Branch recently sold my house. They were brilliant, helpful and great with communication which is rare these days. Rachel with whom I dealt with was lovely, so friendly and so patient with all the endless calls I made. They say selling your home is one of the most stressful things you can go through. Its no easy ride but I can only say that Jackson-Stops made it as easy and calm as it could be. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you live in Kent and you want to sell your house, they are your go to agent. Brilliant. If Trustpilot had 10 stars to hand out, then that is what I would give Alastair and his great team in Cranbrook.

Wouldn’t recommend!

Wouldn’t recommend! I have raised several concerns about one of their tenants, to Helen & the MD but nothing has been done. Emails are ignored or replied to months later with inadequate excuses, since they moved in in December 2025! I am writing this review at 4 am, having been kept up until 11 pm with the 8 year old child screaming like a banshee again and now being woken up with him banging around the house! I have lived at my property for four years, and the last year has been a total nightmare!
