We had not used Sowerbys previously and having approached a number of agents, we felt they were the right match for us. Quite apart from the fact they have a strong presence in Norfolk, we were selling a unique property and they also had a number of comparable properties which was reassuring. All staff were both friendly and professional. The photography and property particulars were superb. In particular Aaron was outstanding; friendly, tactically astute and a gifted agent. What would we have done without Rebecca after the successful sale so well handled by Octavia. After the sale so many obstacles came up that drove us to near madness but Rebecca bless her got us through it all and to a finally successful conclusion. This was one of those sales that we say - thank goodness we went through professionals rather than the lower ranking agencies as we are sure everything would have fallen to pieces. We had great hopes which dwindled rapidly. We were selling a period house. The valuer revealed that he'd been at our neighbours house doing a valuation days before (privacy surely would be expected?). The marketing brochure which came out to us had clearly not been proof read. Sentences were not complete in places and the whole thing was an exercise in over elaborate description. The author exaggerated everything making it a hard read. The photos were underwhelming. We requested new ones and that in itself was a painful exercise. We were promised weekly updates which didn't happen. Emails were not answered and direct questions about how marketing was going were ignored by Katie Huggins. We never made to feel we were the clients to Katie. We were ignored at will. We became so fed up with the lack of care and attention we made a complaint and asked for another agent to be brought in. Despite all the evidence we had of very poor service, Sam Jones the manager was defensive and unapologetic. It took some effort to cut through to some understanding of our disappointment. Katie never apologised for any of the ignored communications. Another agent was brought in. Then Sowerbys sold our house! Hooray. Terie was great with the aftersales role. Enthusiastic and helpful. Then our buyer dropped out just before exchange. Back on the market we went trying to not lose the house we wanted. Back to dealing with Katie Huggins. She rang us with a viewing... someone who'd seen our house before..... When I dug a bit deeper it turned out the people wanting to view weren't even on the market yet. Not a good prospect when we needed to sell quickly at that point. Katie couldn't see the problem at all. We refused the viewing, pulled the house off the market and will never use Sowerbys again. The two stars are purely for Terie's hardwork.

Sowerbys in Dereham are currently dealing with the sale of our property. We have had the pleasure of dealing with several people at the office, all of whom have been professional, friendly and above all extremely helpful. Moving is a stressful time so having this level of service is very important. A very special mention has to go to Katie who we have spoken to most, she is an absolute gem and works so hard. Very big thanks also to Louie, he has a super personality and had endless enthusiasm when carrying out viewings for us and also to Miriam. Both of whom showed great respect when showing potential buyers our property and took the time to ensure all the necessary information was passed on to them. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sowerbys. In terms of after sales service a really big thank you to Terie who worked tirelessly on our behalf. Such a lovely lady with an astounding work ethic.

Our house buying chain was extremely long, cutting across 2 different counties where we were the party in the middle (we moved from Buckinghamshire to Norfolk). A long chain is always going to be complex and encounter difficulties but this one was particularly challenging. Early in the process, messages passed through the chain became distorted which caused concerns for different parties. To eliminate this problem, Joanna had the initiative to set-up an email group for all the estate agents in the chain. This was the turning point in the process as from this point forward, all parties received messages consistently and regularly. Throughout the process, Joanna was an absolute pleasure to deal with. She kept us fully informed throughout and demonstrated so much patience and understanding. Every problem that occurred, of which there were many, Joanna never displayed any negativity or frustration. She always remained positive and level-headed, reassuring us of the process and the possibilities and giving us the time that we needed to help us remain calm in what was a very frustrating and stressful time. I honestly believe that if it had not been for Joanna’s efforts in coordinating the rest of the estate agents and her expert knowledge of the buying process, we may not have moved at all! I would highly recommend Joanna as an estate agent and would not hesitate to sell and buy through her and Sowerby’s in the future.

And when problems arose outside their control, Sowerbys maintained their brilliant support, and saw us through to a successful conclusion. Deserving of special mention are Sam Holland who did a fine job job with the initial introduction and valuation; Brian Morris and his team who produced highly professional photographs and video; Aaron Watson who unfailingly guided us through all stages of the process; and Joanna Lobb and Zoe Ryder who were an immense help when last-minute unforeseen issues arose. From my first phone call when the property we liked first appeared on Rightmove Sowerbys have helped us all of the way. Octavia made sure we could visit the property at the earliest opportunity even though we couldn’t make the official open day viewings. She kept in close contact with us even though the viewing was carried out by the vendors. Octavia was also forthcoming with expert local advice as she lives in the village and knows the house from local exercise runs. She was very helpful once we put in our offer smoothing the process at all stages. Once she had got our offer accepted she introduced us to Rebecca who has taken over on the road to exchange and beyond. Sowerbys have been as professional to work with as we had hoped for from the very high quality of their website we had been following for over a year while we were contemplating our move from the Cotswolds to Norfolk. The house I was buying was taken off the market at the 11hr. To say that we were a bit disappointed would be an understatement. The reason I want to leave feedback after such a bad experience, is the fantastic way Sowerbys handled the whole thing. I had the fortune to work with Rebecca Martin I can't thank her enough for all her efforts and support. I know some people in the chain must have been challenging. Rebecca was amazing throughout and easily the best estate agent I have ever encountered. You deserve the biggest pay rise possible. Best experience of moving house yet with Sowerbys Dereham! We had the pleasure of Leanne showing us round the property; she was friendly and extremely helpful to any questions we had about moving. Sowerby's in Dereham have done an amazing job for us, but an extra special mention needs to go to Terie who has been with us every step of the way from offer accepted to exchanging contracts. She has gone above and beyond to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible, at a time of a fair bit of stress, Terie is there to reassure you and take the burden away, she is the most conscientious worker I've met, striving to do the best for everyone, chasing buyers, solicitors, working out of hours and going the extra mile. I don't think I would have coped half as well if it wasn't for Terie, I genuinely want to employ her! She's worth her weight in gold and an absolute asset to Sowerbys.

** Fantastic ** !! Sowerbys were the estate agent being used by the sellers of the property that we were purchasing and quickly highlighted how good they are! First up Louie White, what an honest, invested and super nice guy to help with the negotiations and very long process of the purchase for several reasons. Louie reassured us on several occasions and allowed several visits to the property with no time constraint so we could assess the work to be done. If you're looking for a sales agent he's the man ! Then there is Terie the after sales specialist (AKA our shining angel) Terie was sooooo good that it highlighted just how poor our own estate agent was, and we found our selves going to Terie to find out what was happening in the chain from top to bottom. I honestly believe that as a deadline loomed that if we had not been lucky enough to have Terie on our case it would have fallen through and cannot honestly thank her enough. In short, Sowerbys may cost a little bit more but you soon find out why! They are worth every single penny and should we ever move/sell and these two outstanding people are still in the business then this is where i will go.
