Katie Ross was really helpful when it came to the full process of the claim. She kept me up to date. She was easy to get a hold of when I needed info and was always keen to answer any questions I had. I’m not sure what goes on in the background but whatever she did for me really helped increase the amount of my claim and I am ever so greatful for it. This isn’t something I’ve ever had to do and I was very hesitant on going through the procedure but Katie made this a breeze for me

Thorntons solicitors were excellent from the very first day when our propery was visited by a representative with a view to placing our propery on the market right through until the final contract was signed. Highly recommended for selling property

I used Thorntons for the sale of my house and had a really easy and great experience. The estate agents were super organised and great communicators throughout the process, giving good advice about market conditions as well. And Ellen, the sales solicitor, was absolutely fabulous - she helped me understand the more nuanced legal terms and agreements, and she even went out of her way to bring me paperwork that needed to be notarized as I was having mobility issues in late-stage pregnancy. She was extremely kind and caring, and I felt in really great hands with Thorntons. It's the second time I've used them, and would continue to highly recommend them.

Reassuring and Thorough.

I purchased a property and Helen Donnelly was my solicitor. She was so thorough, discovering some issues with the property and saving me a lot of heartache by getting it all resolved in a very timely manner.She always had time to answer my questions and explain things to me and took a lot of stress off my shoulders. She was quick to respond and process everything that needed doing. I highly recommend approaching her for assistance with purchasing property. This is the fourth time I’ve used Thorntons for something that has required legal assistance so I think that speaks volumes for the company and how trustworthy and good they are. I’ve always felt like a valued client and feel so reassured that I can turn to them for any assistance I require.

We used Thorntons solicitors and more specifically Gary, after a we had an RTC in Scotland whilst on holiday.It has been a complex case for a number of reasons has taken 2 years to settle.But Gary has been brilliant throughout. I strongly recommend avoiding this solicitor. The service was absolutely terrible, and in my experience, they did not demonstrate a proper understanding of the matter. Their communication was also extremely poor, and I found their written English unacceptable for someone working as a professional solicitor.

Having lived in my home for 43 years plus this was my first time as a seller.. I settled on Thorntons because of its well known reputation. My first encounter with Lucy Rourke came in January 2024 when a bid from a potential buyer had been lodged. Now at the legal stage of the house sale it was her responsibility to ensure a smooth transition occurred..From the start she was optimistic and extremely helpful , professional and confident this objective would be achieved..There were one or two issues involving achieving a Letter of Comfort resulting from that an Electrical Installation Condition report to navigate all of which went smoothly with her keeping me posted when necessary..Paperwork relative to the sale of the property has now been concluded and money to be transfer underway.. Throughout the process Lucy has been extremely helpful, courteous and professional in her approach to concluding the sale..

I cannot express how fantastic my experience with Thorntons Law was, particularly with the solicitor Sandra Pettigrew when buying my first property. Sandra put in multiple bids for me to secure a property and was always punctual, polite, enthusiastic, and was genuinely disappointed for me when I was unsuccessful many times! I was new to the process and Sandra always offered advice and answered the numerous questions I had. When I was eventually successful at getting an offer accepted, I cannot explain how seamless Sandra made the process. She explained everything, was timely, incredibly professional but also friendly. I felt in such good hands throughout the whole process, and Sandra even supported a claim following completion of the purchase of the property which was successful. Absolute pleasure to work with.

We chose to work with Thorntons because of how well established they are. When we started our house buying journey we knew very little about the process but Michelle was super helpful.
