Horribly rude lawyer , best friends with the police, gave zero advice, phoned his recptionist 9 times no reply, he was aware i had a alibi and am a war veteran with keys to cities in scotland, treated me like a piece of shit on my shoe, there is no evidence of a crime. within 1 minute of a phone call after 9 times phoning his recption he said you can find another lawyer and hung up, very disgusting human being, Albany Chambers, Albany Street, Oban, PA34 4A. Kevin McGinness dirty suit terrible language very vague unproffesional and aggresive

We used Thorntons solicitors for the purchase of our current home, and we could not have been more pleased with their professionalism, attentiveness, and care during the process. The two people at Thorntons we worked most closely with were Lucy and Joanne. Both of them guided us deftly through the process, offering advice when it was prudent to do so but avoiding overwhelming us with information that was overly technical or esoteric (read: we had to wade through minimal “legalese”). Emails were answered promptly and thoroughly, phone calls never felt hurried or rushed, and we consistently felt that we were being guided through the complicated home-buying process by competent, reliable, trustworthy people. While buying a home can be an emotionally taxing process for a variety of reasons, Lucy and Joanne took as much of the guesswork out of the process as was humanly possible, and left us feeling like we had made a solid, well-informed purchase.I would wholeheartedly recommend Thorntons to anyone looking to buy a home in Scotland, without reservation.

First time they have ever dealt with my claim first time I have ever had to make a claim and I’m glad it was them I chose , they have been great from start to finish , always kept me up to date with things as it moved along . We used Thorntons to sell our house and purchase our new one. We’d previously used them to sell another properly and had a positive experience so decided to go with them again after speaking to several other solicitors/estate agents to get an idea of price/service. The process was very smooth and we were well supported throughout. Thorntons were responsive and gave sound advice, there was regular communication. Pricing was reasonable given the quality of service. I would highly recommend using their services.

It was a real pleasure dealing with Katherine at Thorntons in Perth. I've just moved from Essex to Perthshire in Scotland, and she made our move anxiety and stress free. We needed a Solicitor for the purchase in Scotland, and one for our sale in England. Fortunately for us Thorntons we're able to do both, as Steven in the Dundee office also deals with English law. Steven D and his team were simply phenomenal. We are leaving Scotland for a few years and moving to England, which sounds easy, but mix 2 legal systems and trying to tie that with Missives and Completion (at home) with Exchange and ensuring the same completion date and porting a mortgage, is a feat. Thornton have a niche market being one of only two (to our knowledge) capable of doing what they do. On a previous occasion we lost our because of the two separate legal systems and two different lawyers. If you are moving North to South or visa versa, Thorntons is your only call. In addition Steven and his team were just brilliant, the right level of communications at the right time, calm, collective. When we move back in the coming years, we know where to go and when one of our grown up children moves to their next home on the ladder in Scotland, it’s a no-brainer. Steven you are a star.

Me and my husband are first time buyers and didn't have a clue where to start or where to begin. We were recommend this firm to help us. And by god they did not disappoint. Our solicitor Jenna was absolutely fantastic she helped us through the way. Was quite quick when it came to responding to our emails. Everything went as smooth as you could as for. And we just overal just had a great experience with her and if we have another problems or in need of a solicitor we know where we will be heading back. We'd had a wonderful experience working with Laura Franceschi for our property sale and purchase last year so, when we needed conveyancing again for another property, we didn't think twice about going back to Laura.This experience was no different to the last. Laura is very approachable and personable, great at walking us through the process with a clear understanding of each stage, and absolutely on the ball with the finer detail to ensure everything was as it should be before the sale concluded.Cannot thank Laura enough, nor recommend her highly enough for conveyancing.
