Thorntons took responsibility for our property deeds when the solicitors we used to buy the property merged with them. That was decades ago so I recently contacted Thorntons to check all was well. Hannah Ogilvie and Heather McKenzie were both great and I now have photocopies of the deeds etc. It was a very generous and efficient response and service.

I contacted Michaela Dougan at Thorntons after I was injured in a road traffic accident, which was not my fault. Michaela was friendly and professional with me from day one. I was hesitant and nervous about making a claim, but Michaela explained the process to me and basically put me at ease, very quickly. She explained to me that I would not have to pay for her services but that she would help me on a no win no fee basis. Michaela kept me well informed as my case progressed and she ultimately managed to secure a brilliant result for me. I cannot rate Michaela highly enough. If you are thinking of making a compensation claim, I would strongly recommend that you give Michaela a call.

Excellent advice, guidance and information from Claire Redmond during the legal buying and selling process for our parents during a tricky COVID 19 period. Communication was superb and Claire went that extra mile, always prompt to reply or pick up the phone to answer any queries we had and guide us through. Can highly recommend the legal side.The property department for selling was OK, with a few hiccups along the way, which did get rectified after the solicitor, Claire stepped in and took control.

She kept us well updated throughout the entire process and promptly answered any questions we had in layman's terms. Thorntons handled the conveyancing process for the sale of our house and we would readily recommend them. We dealt with Katherine McGill, who was brilliant from start to finish. She was highly efficient and professional, very friendly and her communication skills were great. The conveyancing process was completed in just over three weeks with the time from marketing to moving home around six weeks.In comparison with some of our prior experiences with other legal firms, the service was excellent and pricing competitive. Thorntons brought a refreshing and proactive approach, which meant we could focus fully on moving home without unnecessary delays or distractions.

We booked a second viewing of a house. I had asked a friend with more knowledge than I to assist me. When we arrived at the time this company said there was no sign of anybody. When phoned I was told they had accepted an offer that morning. Why couldn’t they let us know so that a40 minute journey would not have been wasted. When challenged the person on the phone said they had tried to call me. This was not the case.
We’re sorry to hear that your experience with Thorntons wasn’t as you had hoped. On the rare occasion that a property viewing is cancelled, either as a result of an offer being accepted or at the sellers request, we will always call, leave a voicemail, email and send a text message to the viewer to advise them of the cancellation. We were very happy to have chosen Thorntons Solicitors for our house purchase. Michelle was amazing throughout the entire process; she was able to answer all of our questions and talk us through the process of buying and closing dates. Then throughout the conveyancing she kept us up to date and informed regularly, I never once had to chase for anything, and often she would be working late to be able to explain all of the details, options and progressions. Michelle worked tirelessly to overcome complications that arose during conveyancing, and made sure we were comfortable with any decisions that were required, continuing to do so with a friendly, comforting and enthusiastic demeanour. Michelle is truly an asset to Thorntons Solicitors and the legal practice.

We chose Thornton’s to sell our property because they are local and they are open 7 days a week which we thought would maximise our chances of selling. The good news is we were right and Thornton’s were able to market, find a buyer and then conclude the sale in just over 2 months. We were kept informed at every step of the way from their friendly staff and couldn’t be more happy with the whole process. I highly recommend Thornton’s and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future.

I contacted Thornton's Solicitors after an accident caused by local council negligence. I was fully briefed on what to expect and the associated timescales. I had thorough conversations on the phone and regular updates via email from Joanne. When Thornton's pressed the other party, I was awarded a good settlement to cover both my injury and the damage to my bike. I would highly recommend Thornton's for personal injury claims and wouldn't hesitate to use again ( although I hope I don't have too..)
