Incredible team at Streets Ahead in South Norwood

I am beyond grateful to the team at Streets Ahead South Norwood branch who helped me navigate a tricky purchase that completed at the height of lockdown.When I first viewed the property, I was met by Patrick Simpson, who supported me in taking my time to look around while giving me honest and detailed insights into the area's market. He helped me make the right decision to put in an offer. The sales team headed by Sedat Kilic fairly presented my offer to the seller and avoided a 'bidding war' on a sought after property. I believe they were fundamental in having my offer chosen over a cash buyer, and for that alone, I can't thank them enough.I had Philip Bruce and Mary-Jane Taylor look after me during the final stages. I found Philip to be incredibly helpful during the stress and complication of completing during the lockdown, and his proactive stance pushed the purchase through. I would wholeheartedly recommend Streets Ahead to anyone.

I have the pleasure of working with Mr Lucas Oliveira and I can completely vouch for his dedication to his customers. As a renter, I was scared that I would be deemed less important than if I were a buyer, but any little issue that I have ever had, Mr Oliveira has gone above and beyond to fix it and he has always being extremely kind and understanding towards me. In addition to that, he is extremely efficient with his response time. I can pretty much always be sure to have an answer to an email that I write to him within the hour, quite unlike some previous experience that I have had with previous agents. From start to finish the employees here were nothing but helpful & supportive in our search for a new place to live. Having not moved house for 9 years we were a bit rusty on the whole process but Streets Ahead made the whole thing as easy as possible. Nothing was too much trouble and we couldn't be happier with the service they provided. Special mention must go to George Barnes (who was an absolute star) and Emma McKenzie - they both made a stressful time a lot easier to cope with. My partner and I were looked after superbly by Marina Steele. We had registered with many agencies but she was the only who individually kept in contact with us and knew what we wanted from our property. She advised us brilliantly from start to finish, was always a pleasure to talk to and knew what was included in each property. She also passed us on to another great and helpful colleague, Harley, when she was away, who I also cannot fault. We would really have loved to have gone through Streets Ahead and Marina to buy a property, but we liked another one just slightly more. However, I would certainly consider using them when we come to sell in a few years time and would trust them completely.

Joke of an agency

Joke of an agency. Totally unprofessional. Started even before we moved in. Couldn't get keys as agreed. Not reacting to problems we reported or even emails is a standard operating procedure. The only way to make them do anything is unless to threaten not to allow any viewings. Then they randomly tried to shorten our tenancy agreement...We've interacted with several people there over the years. Not a single competent one. 1 star reviews are pretty accurate here.Oh and they also lie. They advertise a 1 double 2 barely single bedrooms as 3 doubles. They will even lie about how far it is to nearest points od interest...Avoid if possible.

Absolute timewasters

Absolute timewasters. They completely live up to the unfortunate stereotype of a dodgy estate agent. If you're selling, I'd urge you not to list with them as they will over-inflate the value of your property to get you on their books, then encourage you to drop the price two or three times, rather than starting out with an honest valuation to manage your expectations. Just look on Rightmove at how many of their properties are marked as reduced.They also quote their commission at ridiculously high percentages which you have to then bargain down to anywhere near market levels. They promise viewers are very interested and to expect offers imminently, only to never get back to you with any updates. Just absolute dead silence for weeks. Plus when they do viewings, they carelessly leave doors unlocked and tramp mud in from outside. If you're buying they'll tell you your offer definitely won't be enough and push you to go higher, then next thing you'll hear is that the listing price has actually dropped as their pushy tactics haven't stirred up as much bidding as they thought it would.They're crooks and liars who will tell you anything to get you on their books but not make any effort to get in touch with you if sales don't happen quickly. Avoid at all costs.

Poor sales experience.

They started off professionally when they visited in order to help sell my property. From that point onwards the service was poor. Instead of showing people around the property the agent would sit on the sofa checking his phone and would let people walk around my house unaccompanied (we have cameras in the house). They repeatedly left the front and back doors unlocked. They rarely kept in touch or provided feedback or updates - it was like a black hole. Eventually after 7 months of poor service and no sale I moved to another agent.
