Very impressed with the service from the team especially James. Due to lockdown, our sale went on for longer than we’d hoped but James ensured it all came together in the end. He returned my calls & responded to emails very efficiently and always got the answer to my query. Kept us up to date on feedback on viewings and the progress on exchange. Would highly recommend if selling your property in the Crawley / West Sussex area. Their fee was extremely fair too.PositiveProfessionalism, Value

Professionalism at its highest

Dealt with several estate agencies in the pst but none of them were like Taylor Robinson, professionalism at its highest, the agent that followed me and my co-tenants was always by our side and answering to any of our questions and concerns immediately giving us a clear explanation of every aspects and helping us out on every single detail despite sone difficult circumstances that us and the agency had to deal with. Special mention to Ben Cannon, the best in his hob.

Definitely recommend Taylor Robinson Estate Agent. Their website clearly advertised the property and explained the fees. The Referencing process was easy and anything I called about I got a quick response back. Very professional and helpful. Ben was very good at keeping us updated and made the move less stressful.

I always encourage reviews whether good or bad, but in this instance I have no idea who you are! I guess as an estate and letting agent the above could be read as a positive - how we negotiate the best price for our sellers or landlords (this is our job) or that we work hard to earn our money by offering the best service. If you have an issue or problem, as the owner of Taylor Robinson I would always have an open door to hear and help with any issues you may have, so please feel free to reach out.

Absolutely terrible company. Very helpful right up until contracts are signed. After that you are as good as forgotten about. Any issues in the property they do nothing but pass the buck rather than doing something about the issue. Technically the company are breaking the Landlords and Tenants Act 1985 but as they know you have still have no choice but to pay full rent regardless of issues encountering in your property they will ignore any requests made to get the issues resolved.

Jack · 9 December 2022

I'm sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience It's important for landlords and property management companies to prioritize the well-being and satisfaction of their tenants, but just to confirm that no breach of any law has happened. To clarify The Landlords and Tenants Act 1985 establishes certain rights and responsibilities for both landlords and tenants, including the obligation for landlords to maintain the property in a safe and habitable condition and I can confirm that the property you rented was a brand-new apartment and the property was and is fully liveable, a health and safety check was carried out prior to your occupation and no hazards were picked up prior to you moving in. I can also confirm that the only thing that was passed back was that you was that you need to set up the boiler timer yourself, a member of staff also offered to come and assist if you couldn’t do it.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. Friendly at first - as stated in other reviews - but when something goes slightly wrong they don’t want to know. They do not update you about a purchase or any changes. They are unkind, impolite and unhelpful. I have had to demand an apology twice. They must only care about money and do not care about being kind, polite or helpful to customers during buying a house - which is known to be a stressful process. Very disappointed that basic manners were not used by Taylor Robinson staff. I have been asked if I will change my review with still no apology

Been with them for 5 years. Very expensive, professional though, but not a bot of empathy from the company as a tenant received. All further enquiries after the tenancy was ended regarding deposit didn't go anywhere with them. No helping or advising hand. But very professional as long as you're ready to pay big rent. Disappointed client cause our business with them looked one direction all the time and it was landlords direction. Not recommended. Addition to comments from earlier: Thanks a lot for"tickling" the owner after this comment was made, towards DPS resolution centre, as a result of Your input the owner of the property has taken action and responded to DPS, ball gone rolling, finally. I think you have more influence than you say, as your company advisor is taking pictures and advising what's worth mentioning as "serious damage" or what can be "wear and tear" cause. In wrap up: received deposit back. "Quite serious damage" isn't as serious as was intended to be lit up, sorry to say so but try to mock people bit less in future. Those renting prices are already sky high and not everyone with decent jobs can afford them, why try to rob working class people after contract has ended. Especially after 5 years of honest renting. Plus we admitted some damage but didn't agree to exchange old unusable stuff to new as per pricing list provided. Stay safe.NegativeValue

Thank you for your review as whether they are good or bad I always want to know as the business owner. I have looked at your position and find that you were a tenant in 2019. I note that the landlord looked to make a deduction from your deposit for quite serious property damage. Your deposit is held in a protected scheme and as such a process is required. Taylor Robinson completed this 2 years ago, but believe you may just have reviewed your reply. Taylor Robinson is not an expensive agent and any damage deducted money would revert to the landlord - moreover, there are no tenant charges at all now. Rent values are always market rent.

While looking into renting my property out, I was directed to Taylor Robinson. Having spoken to other estate agents previously, I had high expectations and Ben didn’t let me down. From an initial conversation, to tenants being in and the number of queries I had being a first time landlord - I can’t fault Ben and the team. The support I have received has been amazing. Long may it continue!PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

I have dealt with Ben Cannon for the past 6-7 years. Having been a landlord on a rental and now a tenant through Taylor Robinson, Ben has throughout those years been so helpful, friendly and professional in all dealings. Having received fantastic help and guidance from Ben throughout the 6 or more years has led me to use Taylor Robinson in a recent house sale. James, Sebastian and Nicola have been amazing. As in previous dealings, Taylor Robinson have again provided outstanding professional and friendly service. Would 100% recommend Ben and team at Taylor Robinson without hesitation whether as a landlord, tenant or vendor selling as I have done so with them. Thank you again to you all.

The volume of 1 star reviews on…

The volume of 1 star reviews on Trustpilot really do describe our experience. We purchased our house through Taylor Robinson, and unfortunately, the service we received after our offer was accepted was terrible. To begin with, we were never told our point of contact had changed, we only found out after some of my emails were ignored and I ending up calling. We were then looked after by Kelly, who just didn’t seem to care one bit; it was very different from the agent we used to sell our property and the effort they put into looking after our buyer. The worst part of the experience was driving 1.5 hours to come and view the property after it was vacated, they sent an agent to show us around, and we couldn’t get into the property; it turned out they had an old set of keys. I understand mistakes happen, but you would expect an estate agent to have the correct set of keys for a vacant property they’d sold or at least to make an effort to rectify the situation instead of telling us “The sellers are out of the country” just for them to miraculously return and drop off the correct keys a couple of days later. To make matters worse, there was no sort of apology following this, just them trying to justify it by explaining that the locks have been changed, no acceptance that they should have known they held the correct keys before booking a viewing and us driving down. Even on the completion day, we had issues, they phoned once to tell us it was complete. Unfortunately, I missed this call, but you would expect them to understand that we might be busy moving out of our property or driving, so maybe it’s a good idea to phone again on my mobile? Nope, they just sent an email and moved on. Even when arriving at our new property, I was reminded by how little care they had, the set of keys they gave us included the 2 old keys that failed to open the door previously. Had I not known how poor their service was, I would have thought they were having a laugh… You might also expect to receive keys for the garage or at least some sort of explanation that they don’t have them, nope, nothing. We were also given just 1 copy of the keys which is appalling for a house they had sold and contracts had been exchanged over a week prior. They did indeed call us over a week later to say they’d been given more copies but by that point, we’d already changed the locks… do you not believe it was your responsibility to make sure you held all sets of keys before completion, or that it would have been courteous to at least try and get us keys for the garage? No doubt there will be justifications for the above, but everything written is what happened to us which Taylor Robinson had no problem with at the time.

Been dealing several times with agencies but never found one like the Taylor Robinson, the process was smooth, clear, perfectly explained, we had some external issues that caused problem to me and the other tenants but also to the agency, their way to deal with it with professionalism, kindness and speed were truly amazing as we never felt left alone. I dare everyone to find an agent that is by your side at all times and replies to you in literally minutes everytime at every hour, Ben Cannon does! I would advice Taylor Robinson to any of my friends and colleagues.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Since signing on the dotted line, it's been a matter or chasing and asking more than once. Even in cancelling with you, you were unable to action our requests. I am very saddened by this service as we were very excited when your negotiator came to see us, however, OVER PROMISED AND UNDER DELIVERED. UPDATE: I’ve been waiting on your response as I knew it would have a nasty underlying tone! This shows you can’t take criticism constructively!! We have had more viewings and contact with our new agent then we had with you and whether they are able to sell our property or not, it is about PROVIDING A SERVICE which you didn’t do! I’ve read all your review responses and anyone reading them looking for an agent will see that your responses show poor management in this department! I don’t need your luck, I’m very happy with my agent and will stick with them until we find the right buyer 😃

Unfortunately some customers are unhappy when their property doesn't sell. I would recommend accepting the value advice initially given and you will find you are most likely to then sell. I notice you still haven't sold even with another agent! Well, as a professional agent - I do wish you luck.

Very smooth instruction process, once the property was on the market there wasn't much communication (property was empty so no need to check for viewings). Once an offer had been accepted I was advised I had been passed to a senior member of staff who oversees the process. I tried calling to speak to this member of staff multiple times and the only time I ever spoke to them was the first time when I was told they would send over an introduction which they never did. They managed to miscalculate their invoice which went straight to my solicitor, which I picked up on and the corrected invoice was sent across with no apology. Weeks after completing I was then forwarded an invoice from a contractor which they had arranged and had for months for payment.

Vicky · 7 June 2021

Agent replied · 7 June 2023

Vicky - thank you for your review. I have checked our system to and can see that you were sent 29 emails informing you of viewings! This is in addition to the telephone calls made to you as well, so not sure why you felt you weren't informed? Post sale I can see that we followed up with your chosen solicitor when they bothered to answer their phone (they never replied to emails). This sales progression was carried out by our in house experienced sales progressor who is also a fully qualified solicitor. As for the outstanding contractor invoice (this is where we arranged a contractor for you on your instructions to complete the require EICR report to enable an exchange of contracts. Our contractor completed your inspection at short notice and urgently so that you could exchange contracts. I am sorry if you feel this is below standards of service, but I feel we did a wonderful job of getting your property sold and completed.

I strongly advise not to rent through Taylor Robinson. They happily lease out unliveable properties and take no action to rectify issues despite being told throughout the full year tenancy. Now we are leaving they all of a sudden want to fix things because they know nobody else will rent the property in it's state but happily let us live in it for a year. Avoid!
