I let my property out with Merrick Binch for 6 months, I would strongly advise against using them. My emails could go unanswered for weeks leaving me to chase for a reply, then once I got one I usually got an incomplete answer anyway. When I got my property back my wardrobes had been smashed up and left in pieces on the living room floor, a swing set had been left by the tenant in the garden and the garden shed was stuffed full of rubbish. I contacted Merrick Binch, they said sorry we will get the swing set removed and I decided to remove the rest myself as a sign of good faith as I intended to continue using the agency in the future. Once the maintenance guys came to pick up the swing set they told me they would take the rest of the stuff at no extra cost so I agreed to that, but once they had loaded everything onto the van they insisted that Merrick Binch weren't paying for the removal, I assumed this was a mistake so I paid the bill and then told my agent what happened. She told me sorry just a miscommunication, so I asked if they would cover any costs at which point I was flat out ignored. I also had something missing from the house so I asked if they could check the inventory, it took two and a half months to finally get an answer out of them! And that was along the lines of sorry we haven't checked yet... I'm using a different agency going forward and can already notice the difference in the level of customer service, I suggest you do the same.

One of the worst agencies I have seen is in Coventry. They booked a viewing for 11:00 am. We arrived at 10:55 and knocked on the door, but no one answered. We tried calling the agency six times, but no one answered. When they finally picked up, they said the appointment was for 11:00 am, not 11:20 am. The lady on the phone sounded rude and mentioned that many people were waiting to see the property. It was very frustrating as we had traveled all the way from London, spending 2.5 hours and a lot of money to see the property. I highly do not recommend this agency. Please don’t trust them. Don’t fall into their trap and lose your dignity and money. This situation is not unique to me; there were others waiting for the viewing at the same time. PLEASE DON’T TRUST THIS AGENCY. I HIGHLY DON’T RECOMMEND IT.

We sold our house with Merrick Binch. Trev came round and valued the house. He was lovely. Very polite, friendly and advised us with what we needed to do. He was very helpful. Our house went on the market on the Monday and by the following Monday it was sold. Merrick Binch done all the viewings so we didn't even need to be there.The after sales was excellent too. Di and the rest of the team kept us informed with what was happening and tried their hardest to get things going as quickly and efficiently as possible. Would definitely recommend.

Merrick Binch go above and beyond

Merrick Binch go above and beyond what you expect from an estate agent. Having had several sales fall through with another local agent I enlisted Merrick Binch to take on this challenge. Immediately they found a genuine buyer (who too had been messed around by the other local agent) and the sale progressed so easily with the help of Trevor, Dianne and Nick. I was scheduled to view a property with this agency. The agent failed to turn up and I had to contact the owner to show me around their property. Amazingly Merrck Binch claimed that I did not show up and they were in the property with other potential buyers at the time! Having seen the other negative reviews I only conclude that this agency is incompetent and is too arrogant to acknowledge this. I will never work with Merrick Binch again!

Beyond useless. Refuse to answer the phone, emails, or return calls. They could not care less about renting out your property, and would rather leave it empty and lower the price than bother conducting a viewing.
