We purchased a building through Robin and the team at the Sanderstead branch of Bairstow Eves. It was a long, drawn-out legal process lasting several months. Robin kept in touch with us, let us keep seeing the building so we could work out how we would update it, and whether the building was empty, and check that the pipes hadn't burst as the tight sellers had turned off the heating. He even showed us a similar building that was finished to help us visualise how the house could look when it's updated.Robin and the team exceeded our expectations - which is very rare! Bairstow HQ - give that team a pay rise!

The level of communication from this company, in particular the Coventry branch, is appalling. Four times since the 4th of February I've phoned up about the same problem they haven't fixed yet, and I've been told someone will be in touch, but they haven't called back. And most times when I call, no one answers.

It has been a long and stressful 3 weeks until I spoke to Chrissie …. In 3 weeks she is the only letting agent to call me back and was so helpful and supportive in trying to deal with the insurance company the claims department the rapid relocate people …. So as you can guess there was a lot of phone calls back and forward …. Chrissie was so patient with me and guided me through so emphatically….. GoogleThis company deserves zero stars. Took deposit and rent in advance, could not contact me over a weekend and Monday morning and let the flat. What a bunch of jokers. the property was inhabitable, I was assured it would be cleaned and repainted and carpets replaced, however someone took it in the state it was, saving the landlord money and I was shafted. STAY AWAY FROM THIS JOKE OF AN AGENCY.

GoogleCountrywide and Bairstow AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. In essence, my experience with this company has been less than satisfactory. Their focus seems solely on extracting the maximum billing amount without much consideration for the quality or level of service provided. The exorbitant prices for their products, such as quoting £699 for a washing machine that retailed for £299 at Currys, raise serious questions about their pricing ethics. Furthermore, the management of utility bills left much to be desired. Despite paying a management fee, we were left to handle the transfer of utility bills to tenants ourselves, an unexpected burden. Now, onto a particularly frustrating incident. A water leak in the bathroom prompted us to seek repairs. The same leak recurred two weeks later, we paid £52 for a seal replacement (exclusive of labour charges), and then a third time resulting in a flood. Urgent calls and emails were met with silence from the company. Branch Supervisor TJ dismissed the urgency and responsibility, insisting it was not his concern. In the absence of assistance, we engaged a different contractor to fix the toilet, incurring threefold costs totaling nearly £1,000. Despite our attempts to address the issue, Countrywide remained unresponsive and refused to provide details about the original contractor or their insurance liability. Their repeated stance of "Not my job" and lack of acknowledgment persisted even when the damages amounted to £3.6K. Attempts to claim on the contractor's insurance were met with resistance from Countrywide, leaving us, the fee-paying customer, in a perplexing position of defense against the very company we entrusted with our property management. AVOID/AVOID/AVOID, you have been warned.
