GoogleI've used the Coventry branch of Bairstow Eves (Countrywide Group) since 2015 for my portfolio of rental properties. I've had nothing but excellent experience from the entire team there, including past and present members of staff. A recent example of this is my property was listed with Bairstow Eves on 04/08/20 and rented out on 07/08/20! The tenant moved in that very weekend and as always, the calibre and standard of tenant is superb. Thorough vetting checks, providing me peace of mind, and excellent friendly, professional but tailored service. I could not recommend the Coventry branch of Bairstow Eves enough - keep up the good work guys, you've raised the bar for all of the competitors! Well done!PositiveProfessionalism

I would advise everyone to avoid Bairstowe Eves Great Barr. We received very poor disorganised service in our case. It all started badly with them getting our property mixed up with another! It ended badly with it taking 5 months to sell to our very keen cash buyer. When this same property was purchased in 2003 it was all done in less than two and a half months, obviously Bairstowe was not involved.

TrustpilotWish I used an alternative agent.
Most expensive agent we had come to assess our property. Did the bare minimum at every step of the way and were not helpful in any way imaginable. Did not want to get involved in anything and we were left to do our own sales & purchase progression while paying a hefty premium for the privilege. My advice would be to avoid Bairstow Eves and use a cheaper agent, while you'll still have to do a lot of the legwork yourself, you'll save yourself thousands of pounds.

Moved out of a rented property 29/07/2024. Chased and chased for updates about my deposit being returned only to keep being informed we are awaiting details from the landlady. According to my tenancy agreement I should have been informed within 10 days of any ‘proposed’ deductions. 3 weeks on and no further forward. If I was in breech of the tenancy agreement they would be quick to act but when it’s the other side.. nothing!

One of worst letting agent , they don’t have any ethics, they just need money 💰, worst customer service, we got a flat for rent in worst condition, they gave without cleaning, used toilet didn’t even flush , really shame on them, when we gave a complaint they didn’t even apologise, and flat is also worst condition, it needs to refurbish but gave for rent. Full of oily kitchen, got shocked after seeing bathroom. Owner will not pick calls, this letting agent will not take responsibility, but they signed on behalf of owner on the agreement. But surely I will not leave them, I’ll post in every forums.

Advertised flat for sale with a alloted parking space, then to be told I could only park my car in a very small space tight up against a wall, the space was smaller than my car, I don’t have a big car. I made it quite clear to Bairstow Eves that I only considered the flat as it had parking, not alloted small smart car only parking! The lies continued with this firm and they just repeat themselves like parrots. It has cost me 2.5k in fees and I have to pull out so a chain of 4 people before me are also going to be effected, I was literally at contract stage, the stress is unbearable that I and others are now going to suffer. I do NOT recommend this company, their tactic is also to say to the seller while you are there, oh don’t forget you have a viewing later and 2 further ones booked in! This is pressure selling and more than likely lies. The management guy that runs the upkeep of the building told me that if I couldn’t park there that I should have my licence taken away, change your car to a smart car! His rudeness continued until I was left in tears, the agent just stood by and did nothing! Avoid this company, they talk the talk but never follow through.

GoogleGood letting agents. Their tenant portal is a bit slow, but, staff are good. Esp. Eilish, who looks after the management in our property. On the ball with most things during the move. Been with them for a couple of years now and no issues at all.

I don’t just make reviews unless I have to. But a family member has their house for sale with B&E. and quite frankly from what I keep hearing it’s not a very good service at all. I also did my own way of contacting as a perspective buyer. 5 times I made contact with the local branch and not once have made contact over the property I was enquiring about. It also concerns me that there is no main number to call them apart from the local branches which if they are not providing a good service it will be there word against yours over any complaints to head office. So they have eliminated anyway of taking an issue higher than the branch. Which you need to ask do you want sell or buy a house from this organisation ? Also my family member had their house reduced without any written confirmation of them taking this action. So it would appear they can do pretty much what they like in terms of when it suits them rather than what suits there customers.

GoogleWould never recommend this estate agency. We rented a property for a year and a half trough Bairstow Eves, after we agreed to not renew our tenancy and move out we encountered huge problems... we even found a new tenants for the property which meant that we saved money as they were not required to realist the property and arrange any viewings... after handling keys back they completed an inventory check and a week later sent as that they will be deducting money for missing fire alarm (which is not missing), fir burning carpet in bedroom (which we never burned as our bed was there) and for general tidyness (even we used a professional cleaning and house was spotless clean). As we disagreed with all the deductions the manager in charge Cathrine Cutts started ignoring all our emails and stopped comunicati g with us... a month past and we are still waiting for any decision in regards our deposit... I will be taking now this matter to DPS, however this would mean that I would be probably for my deposit for another month... really unprofessional service, and would never recommend this agency... and don’t forget that we been charged an extraordinary amount before moving in as it was before the Tenancy Fees act...

GoogleTerrible experience as landlord, would actively recommend against using them. They took on my property with a long list of promises, sad to say none of that was kept. Coventry office staff are one among most incompetent employees I have ever dealt with. Under a fully managed service, I was passed on endlessly within their organisation to get even the simplest of answers about my own property. They were equally hated by the tenants for the way in which the staff looked down on them, which I had felt myself. On top of all these, they made numerous mistakes in the contract creating headaches for me and tenants. The enthusiasm exhibited in taking money is nowhere to be seen when asked for status. I have now got rid of them and have now passed management responsibility to a new agent, who's service is already a world apart, really showed what a rut Bairstow Eves were.
