GooglePleased with the service selling my cousin's house after she had to go into a home. Michaels responded promptly to all communications. The house was in need of much renovation but they found a buyer who was prepared to buy it for its potential. All this was carried out at a difficult time with the covid 19 pandemic. Their initial valuation was too high but by reducing the price in steps a sale was eventually achieved in challenging circumstances.

Extremely unprofessional consultants, I was dealt with by Samuel Francis who was telling what he thought I should be spending money on because I asked if a landlord would supply white goods. His response well you budget is xx so surely you could buy it yourself. I would definitely not use any company that feels they can have such unprofessional correspondence.

YellMisled by Michaels - Avoid
Michael Bickmore misled me by inaccurately describing a Colchester property I bought through Michaels Property Consultants. Their Rightmove listing claimed an integrated kitchen appliance was included in the sale and he repeated the claim in my viewing. I based my offer on that information which turned out to be inaccurate and misleading. The day I moved in, I was shocked to discover that the integrated appliance had been removed, leaving a large gap between kitchen units and damage to the neighbouring kitchen unit. I would not have bought a property with an unfinished kitchen. When I raised the issue, Michael told me that their property listings don’t form part of the contract and that the matter was not under his control. Therefore I have been forced to raise a formal complaint involving the Property Ombudsman and to initiate legal action. Given the very poor experience I’ve had, I would urge potential sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants to steer well clear of Michaels.

GoogleNever been with Michaels estate agents before and now that I have I won’t be going anywhere else. The estate agents are brilliant, friendly, knowledgeable and personable. They are quick to respond to issues (boiler cut out) and are attentive to the needs of the tenant. They follow up with tenants and create good relationships with tenant and landlords. 5 star rating!!

GoogleWe had the best support selling our home, considering it was all completed during the lock down all viewings were completed, having to find new buyers, all delt with quickly, professionally and we were kept up to date with all information, all contact was within good time scales if needing to leave messages, couldn't fault the service, would definitely use again if needed, thank you.

GoogleGreat service from Michaels Property Consultants. Property had previously been listed with another agent without finding a buyer. Sold fairly quickly with Michaels and only took 10 weeks from offer to exchange of contract which is quick for a Leasehold Property. Michaels followed up with lawyers to keep things moving and get to a close. Will definitely recommend using them.

GoogleAfter dealing with MPC Colchester branch, this has left me with a VERY bitter taste in my mouth and I will certainly NOT be using them or recommending them to anyone No communication skills whatsoever, repeatedly having to call and email to chase them and you dont hear anything back, unless you chase them until you are blue in the face, but when you do get an answer or response back they lie or come up with a different excuse. This was all regarding getting my deposit money back after i vacated the property/tenancy on the 31st Aug, it is now the 27th Sept and I still havent had my money back, which in my eyes should be a pretty simple and straight forward procedure, unless you are really stupid!!....Landlords and Tenants ....BEWARE!!

GoogleCalled on Thursday to book viewing, spoke to a man who informed me they can only do it in the morning so I agreed and booked for 9.30. 9.45 and after knocking on the door several times and waiting in the cold we called them to be told they had nothing booked and the property sold last week. I understand issues may happen with booking ect, however to book a viewing after the house has apparently been sold is absolutely atrocious. What kind of company books viewings after a property has been sold and leaves people standing in the cold? Definitely will not be using Michaels again and will take our commerse elsewhere.

GoogleI recommend you think very carefully before you rent from this company. My daughter and I were left in a property with lights not working damp and mould whilst paying £1225 rent. Micheals over inflate rates by approx £200/month to properties and then fail to provide basic repairs. I get it, you really like a property you have seen but just be mindful of our experiences and don't end up like we did with rooms we couldn't use and health hazards.

GoogleAVOID at all costs as a landlord. We have used various agents over the years to manage our properties and Michaels are by far the worst we have ever come across. Maria Southgate (lettings manager) was completely unprofessional from start to finish. She lied to me on multiple occasions about important matters (e.g. telling us an EPC had been carried out on our property for me to then find out months later this had never been done). It always took weeks to get a response and months for them to provide repair quotes for damages which meant further damage was caused in the interim. They never carried out routine inspections despite this being in the contract so the tenants ended up smoking (which was a breach of their contract) and damaging all of the carpets in the apartment, something that you'd expect your letting agent to inform you of! The final nail in the coffin was her 'accidently' informing the cleaners to dispose of everything in our apartment after the tenants had vacated which meant they binned all of our possessions (including things like the vacuum cleaner, phone, lamps, rugs, cushions, iron, kitchen equipment and so on). My husband and I had to literally climb into the huge communal bins to retrieve our belongings which is completely unacceptable. I feel completely robbed considering we paid them a large sum of money in management fees over the months when they failed to manage our properties whatsoever. We've now switched to Openrent, I'd recommend you do the same!

The company has looked after me for the past 3 years plus and without them I don’t know where I would be, as for the staff well Wonderfull polite friendly kind fast with responses and also amazing they have been so helpful and supportive made me feel like I was in great hands.it’s been a great experience with Michaels and I would never ever go any where els this is the company tobe with

GoogleI found the perfect property advertised with Michaels. Throughout the whole process they’ve been extremely professional, always accessible & on the ball. So much so I recommended my best friend put her house on the market with Michaels & they didn’t let me down .. it sold quickly ! Don’t take my word for it ... try them out yourselves ... you won’t be disappointed. There are many estate agents in Colchester but few can compete with the level of customer service & attention to detail as Michaels.
