They are a scam company

18.01.2022 They are a scam company. Read my experience with them. They sold me a property with tenants in situ. They did not reveal the fact all the tenants are defaulters. Some of them are served with eviction notice. They allegedly had an arrangement with the previous landlord to hide all these facts. Their broker (from Michael Financials) took 3 months to get the mortgage offer. Applied 4th Aug and offer cam on 11th November. They started pushing my solicitors for the exchange. Once the exchange happened, the sale negotiator who has is impatient like a child stopped replying to my emails. They have a poor code of practice when it comes to selling the property. I have raised a formal complaint with them and will keep updating here on the review page. If you are planning to buy any property through Michael property Consultants think twice, thrice or rather....!

Promptly identified a buyer and then doggedly stayed the course with us while the buyer mucked about for four months before eventually completing the purchase. If it had not been for the Agent being adamant that the sale would come good we would have thrown the towel and started again. So happy to give them a 5 star rating for determination. We cannot fault the service that Michaels provided for us throughout our sale from beginning to end. The housing market is particularly busy at the minute with difficult circumstances surrounding COVID but this didn't effect the good quality that was offered to us throughout. Everyone at Michael's are professional and prompt. They are realistic in the valuations and prepare by doing market research prior to the appointment. They show interest in the property and being a repeat customer, they remember what the property originally looked like when they sold it to us and comment upon the modernisation and work we have done. This agency was by far the worst one I've ever worked with. To begin with before we moved into our house (September 2020) we had established that in case of a new lockdown the contract terms could be negotiated. With the lockdown in November and then again during the new months of 2021, my flat mates and I were unable to come back from Portugal (our home country) due to the lockdown travel restrictions. Since we've moved in we've used the house for approximately two months. TWO! Yet they were unwillingy to renegotiate contract terms with three students who have to work to pay for the rent for a house they've barely used. Additionally, as soon as we moved in one of my house mates and I found the house in terrible conditions... not cleaned, a sock and a textbook on the floor, the living room table had crumbs everywhere and the walls were marked and dirty. We had to spend money from our own pockets and spend two full days deep cleaning the house when it's the agencies MINIMUM to ensure the house is cleaned and ready for new tenants. With our bare minimum use of the house, we had to request for a person to come fix a hole in a wall in one of the rooms and the shower base was broken. A person came to fix the problems, fixed the shower and said would come the following week to fix the hole in the wall. Never came back... I think all these examples are enough for the person who is reading this to NOT purchase or rent a house from this agency. They are TERRIBLE! I will award them one star becuase giving 0 isn't an option. Please be careful in what you're getting yourself into, especially if you're a student!NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value

My girlfriend had the sad misfortune to rent through the amateurs at Michael Simpson’s Colchester office. For nearly 3 years she was either ignored, lied to, and generally treated purely as a source of income. And when leaving they withheld her deposit using spurious claims, from damage their installer caused, to leaving behind items that were there when she arrived. The initial check-in inventory was done by an untrained starter who apologised at the time for all the errors. This inventory was then used as the check-out inventory causing distress, untold hours of phone calls and emails resulting in the independent arbitrator through the Tenancy Deposit Scheme finding against Michael’s. Obviously. They have form on this if you read other rental dept reviews. It turns out the house she was renting was actually owned by Michael Simpson himself. So there was never going to be a fair settlement from Michael’s themselves, being both “poacher and gamekeeper” My advice. Do not go near them. Top professionals. Sold our house not once but twice. Unfortunately we went with another agents offer first time around despite the offers being equal and regretted it.
