GoogleWe arranged to view a house with Michaels' for a Saturday afternoon at 12. Having driven three and a half hours (which they were aware of) to get to the location, we found that the agent hadn't turned up and the tenant, who wasn't expecting us, had to show us around their own house. Still, we liked the house and given that it had been advertised as 'available now' (screenshots saved), called Michaels' to say we were interested in moving forward with the let. Unfortunately, as the existing tenant had not specified their moving out date, we were unable to take the property and eventually had to look elsewhere. Michaels seemingly advertised the house on their website when it wasn't actually available to rent. I lost count of the amount unreturned calls over the next four days and despite complaining to a number of different members of staff, didn't receive an apology. In fact, it was apparant to me that they weren't even aware that they'd done anything wrong, though they did eventually take the house off their website in an acknowledgement that it shouldn't have been there in the first place. This was interspersed with a number of changing excuses and deflection tactics to take attention away from the fact that they'd made a number of mistakes for which no responsibility was taken (apparent missed emails, voicemails etc.). If you are thinking of using Michaels for a sales or a letting, maybe it will work out well for you. However, I wouldn't recommend taking the chance. Just play it safe and go elsewhere. There are numerous other property consultants in the area. Based on my experience, this is an unprofessional agency with no idea how to respectfully service a potential customer.

GoogleMichaels sold my elderly parents home , and I found them to be extremely professional, I really felt that they helped us to achieve the best price we could for my parents beloved home. They also kept us completely up to date with the progression of the sale . Also on a personal level my parents had never moved, having had the house built in 1958 , they were very nervous and needed a lot of understanding , the whole office at the Colchester branch were lovely and really helped to keep the stress levels down, they accompanied all viewings , and really made what could have been a very traumatic experience a pleasant one . So that you Micheal's you are exceptional.

When things got difficult for us they were there everyday chasing everyone up for us and trying to put solutions in place, even after 7 months of waiting to complete. GoogleGreat customer service and professionalism until they have your money! Phone calls and emails regularly ignored! Being told during viewing and moving in that my tenancy would be long term to find out 6 months later they are selling and I have to move out! Terrible communication between departments (lettings/sales) and landlords always trying to blame one another for each cock-up as it arises! I would strongly advise people to go elsewhere. I would much rather be waiting on the council housing register then go through Michaels again!

What is important is the property needed a bit of rework after the previous tenancy and the team at Michaels did a splendid job in bringing the property back to an excellent condition, at very reasonable cost and very promptly. GoogleThought long and hard whether to use an agency or do the letting myself online. I decided I would use an agent. I foremost wanted an ARLA registered company and felt I could trust Maria at Michaels. She knows the market, from what rent to set, to helping me find the right tenants and guiding me through the whole process. They have helped me with various properties and I have had 100% occupancy and happy tenants in the process.

GoogleI couldn’t praise Georgia and Michael’s highly enough. After viewing a couple of properties with Georgia I realised her professionalism, therefore when the house we decided to go for was advertised with various agents including Michaels I didn’t hesitate to contact her. She is efficient and maintains good communication, exactly what you need during the stressful time of moving house. We hope to not move again in the near future but I would definitely contact Georgia if need be.

GoogleI cannot comment on the sales team, but the lettings team can only be described at best as ignoramuses - Paul Vella (Lettings manager) is a 'yes man' who promises the Earth but fails to deliver entirely - and then gets Maria to let the customer down in a fairly abrupt and rude manner ! I have several rentals and buy and sell several houses each year - safe to say my business will not be going anywhere near this bunch of jokers. If they treat tenants anywhere near like I've been treated I would also steer well clear. Calls and emails are routinely ignored LANDLORDS AND TENANTS BE WARNED

GoogleI have been renting through Michael's for some time now and to be honest they are superb. In many Estate Agents if you are renting you are made to feel like a second class citizen but with Michael's you are made to feel valued. I had a number of issues with my flat and they have been sorted out really quickly. They really seem to care. I would have no hesitation in recommending Michael's for Landlords, Tenants, Buyers of Sellers, don't waste your time with all the others, most of whom are kids, go straight to this agency and get the service you deserve, whatever your requirements!!
