Alex and his team have been incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and supportive over the last 8 months whilst we have tried to sell our flat. Unfortunately our sale fell through but Martin and Co have been able to find us a tenant quickly and sort all of our paperwork for us efficiently. They have always been quick to respond to emails and phone calls and have incredible patience, Alex was also dedicated to pursuing the sale of our flat and it always felt like the whole team was committed to helping however they could. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone whether they are a landlord or a seller.

I am very happy to recommend Martin & Co as letting agents. They were very efficient and helpful when I needed to find new tenants for my Colchester property. Jarrod provided timely feedback on potential tenants and understood my needs. As I live 4 hours away I relied on Kelsy and her team to find me new tenants and they did so within a month. They ensured all the documentation was processed easily and quickly. If I need a letting agent in the future I will definitely go back to Martin & Co.

I can't say that my overall experience with Martin&Co was bad, as a tenant I used to deal with multiple Martin&Co employees during 4 years of my tenancy and I didn't have any reasons to complain. Everything was fine until Kathryn from Colchester's branch became my point of contact. Since that moment it became a nightmare. I decided to move out and needed to get my deposit back. My contract says that Martin&Co "must tell the Tenant within 28 working days of the end of the tenancy if they propose to make any deductions from the Deposit". I was chasing her to get it resolved but haven't received responses, my messages were ignored and the whole thing has been delayed as much as possible. Finally after my multiple follow ups, visit and calls, I cornered her and we agreed to deduct part of my deposit. Then some time later ( long time after the 28 working days time frame ) she came back saying that landlord has changed his mind and wants to deduct more money. I did not agree with that and I have been advised that the matter will be submitted to TDS. It was on 14th of December and the TDS accepts request up to 3 months after the end of the contract (31st of January). Do you think that the dispute has been submitted on 14th of December? Of course not, she didn't do that. She just called me on 1st of Feb asking if I still want to dispute it. She has wasted another 6 weeks of my ( and landlord's time), missed the deadline and is going to submit it now and "hopefully they will accept it". I would not recommend any tenant or any landlord to use their services. I can only imagine all the lies she told my landlord and I am pretty sure that I'd need a quick, 10 min phone call with my landlord to get this resolved so both parties are satisfied. I don't even know exactly what the landlord wants to charge me for, I don't know the details as she didn't even bother to tell me so there was no attempt to resolve the matter. It was ultimatum - do you accept the charge or do we submit a dispute? It has been over 3 months since I moved out and I still haven't got all my deposit back.

I would highly recommend Martin and co colchester, me and my partner recently were looking to get a flat in the colchester area. A member of staff Jarrod was absolutely excellent, he was able to find us properties in the local area for the budget we were looking for. Martin and co liaison was superb always answering calls promptly and responding to requests in a timely matter and understanding of queries. For new buyers or rent would recommended as staff have been very useful with supporting setting up bills and liaison with landlord with ease.

After a very bad experience with another in agent in Colchester I was fortunate to find Martin & Co. Alex and his team are very professional, polite and courteous. I cannot praise them highly enough, they always called me back quickly, answered emails promptly and the main thing sold the property! Even when I started calling them regularly before exchange there attitude towards me did not change. If I ever sold a property again in Colchester I would have no hesitation in using them again, highly recommended.

I moved into my property last week, it was a really easy process, everything went through near enough straight away, it was the first time me and my partner have moved out, everything was explained clearly and if we have any problems we can contact them directly which is a great service that is provided, my estate agent Jarrod has been very helpful and has been in contact to see if we are all settled which is comforting when it's all new to you. Would highly recommend Martin & Co to anyone!

Worst customer journey I have ever been on! We listed our property with Martin and Co a month ago and they have to be the worst run business in Colchester! They don't chase up viewers, they forget to pass on feedback and when we asked for no For Sale Sign to be at our property they ignored that and put one up anyway, their communication does not exist! Don't even think about calling in the office to chase up as you will get a rude assistant on the phone that will tut and sigh and ask 21 questions before they will put you through to the relevant person! When I calmly questioned the managing director of the company he abused me over the telephone and swearing and shouting at me, this is in no way a form of customer service or acceptable, especially from someone so high up at the company! The sales agent Alex that looked after us admitted to me that they are purely a "reactive" estate agent and have no proactive measures in place which is shocking! If you are looking to list your property with these cowboys run the other way!

Wasnt very well managed from the start

Wasnt very well managed from the start. Poor communication, any works carried out or proposed costs were extremley high. The tennant they had “vetted” was a problem from the start. I found a lot of the correspondence almost rude from Martin & Co amd dont feel they did enough to protect me as a landlord. Just woulndt use aain, new managing agent seem much more on it.
