We currently have our house on the market in York .We visited hunters on Saturday and received excellent service from the sales associate in hunters.We discussed our current position and She was able to support and guide us in terms of how the Current Market is performing ,she gave us valuable advice going forward.The service We received was very professional,helpful,not pushy and genuine. We came away feeling that she had listened to what our ultimate dream location would be for our family .I think the sales associate name was Jan .We will definitely be in touch .Many thanks for your time .

Do not use for rentals

Do not use for rentals. There is a cost of living crisis of which this company is taking advantage of it with overvalued properties and fees. I paid a holding fee which equates to one weeks rent whilst going through necessary checks. I was truthful that I had a little adverse credit from over 5 years ago but I had an amazing reference from my current landlord of 10 years (of which they knew him as he uses them for some of his properties) plus a steady job. It was taking this agent over a week to get back to me about anything, never returned calls and I was growing concerned. Unbeknown to me, if you also don’t earn three times the rent of the property, you will also fail their checks as they will deem you unable to afford payments. I tried arguing that I could afford it because even after rent, I still had over £1k left and it’s a little unfair to set such judgments on people. They even agreed that they knew I could afford it but it wasn’t up to them but down to their policies etc. I couldn’t get a guarantor which prompted them to say didn’t I have a partner who could move in to bump up the financial figures or guarantor me. Therefore I ended up losing my ‘holding fee’ which is a considerate sum and if this company does this to 10 people a week, they are making a packet for nothing. What gives them The right to put people over a barrel like this?!!! It’s extortion!!! Especially with the current climate and people needing homes and struggling with increasing prices of food, gas and electric. A house is a necessity, people need to live and be safe but this agent seems to be very discriminatory and setting unrealistic benchmarks.

I would never ever used this Company again. They failed to tell my tennent I was selling up, because of mortgage increases, I even even emailed them. Heard nothing so I assumed they had told the tennent. Two months later when I thought I'd have my property back, they told me they hadn't told the tennent. Also the tennent flooded my bathroom and cost me £2000 to fix!

And now we have bought another property and trying to rent through Harris and Wood because of this young boy Elliott, so contacted him and he has recommended his colleague Connor Pound, another young boii.. I currently use Harris and Wood to rent out my flat in Colchester. I contacted them in March time with a view for me wanting it to have tenants in from the beginning of May as that was when I was looking to move away. From the beginning of the process everything was explained easily and in a 'step by step' way which was what I needed having not rented out a property before. They explained insurances, management fees and helped break down the financial process so I knew what to expect. Megan and Connor came to the flat and took pictures (which came out really well), and used a big selection to advertise with which made me confident we would have people who were genuinely interested as they'd already seen every room online first. Megan then arranged a day for viewings and kept me updated with how they went and who was interested. Once we agreed on which tenants, everything happened smoothly for them to move in quite soon. I do not live in the area currently and having Megan and the team to just drop a message to, to check on everything makes me feel reassured my flat is in good hands. I would definitely recommend Harris and Wood for anyone else, especially someone renting out a property for the first time.

Worst estate agent I have ever dealt…

Worst estate agent I have ever dealt with. I was told lies from the very start of the sale of my house. Staff do not get back to you having to chase them all the time, they didn't seem to have a clue what was going on. Had I been given correct information from them at the very start I would have been able to make an informed decision regarding who I sold my house to. When I complain they did not even have the decency to contact me personally. Absolute disgusting customer service.

Waste of time - No show

Me and my partner travelled from out of town to have a viewing with Jesse Oteri today. Everything seemed fine until we arrived at the address and were completely ghosted by him. He wouldn't answer his phone so we rang their office who also couldn't get a hold of him. Avoid any dealings with Jesse as he's is unreliable, has poor time management and communication skills and is a complete waste of time
