Can’t recommend these guys enough! We originally listed our property with a well known chain estate agents, their communication was awful and weeks would pass without any progression on the sale at all, resulting in our buyer pulling out as it was all taking too long. The house we were buying was marketed by Elliot Branch at Harris and Wood, it was him that convinced us to sell ours too with him, which we did and it was the best decision we could have made! A lovely photographer took some amazing photos and the property was sold within 3 days, despite the original estate agent having had it on the market for weeks prior and having had no interest. Our sale and purchase was a complicated one, made more difficult with a very tight deadline before our mortgage offer ran out, which left very little time for it all to go through but thanks to Amy (or should I say miracle worker!) it all went through in time and we got to keep our good mortgage rate. Safe to say she went above and beyond. I can’t thank Amy and Elliot enough for what they did for us, and for how patient they were with my partner who must have spoken to them at least 3 times a day at least towards the end😂 Anyone thinking of using this company… do it! I know we will when we decide to move again. Everyone you speak to is lovely and willing to help, their communication is second to none. Thank you Harris and Wood! Absolute s#*t show, appalling service, went to view property on rossall promenade offered to put 6 months up front (not that i needed too) then never heard anything back, worse company i have ever dealt with in property, to not even get back to you, how unprofessional, to add more insult i seen property listed on Monday night contacted them 1st thing Tuesday to be told i have to wait for others to show interest before i can view appalling service STAY WELL CLEAR if one person avoids this company my review was worse while NEVER AGAIN!!!!

so bad discriminated by this company when I went for a view in the person told me to go and jump over bridge and kill myself because I don't deserve to be alive because I'm autistic did not even investigate they didn't do nothing to switch it on the look of like nothing happened and didn't want to do nothing tell someone to go and kill herself what do they gonna do nothing about it and he was sitting there laughing like it was a joke and then just sitting there thinking it's funny and they say gone going to it and make us all very happy that we don't have to deal with another autistic personthis is why I'm going for four legal action and I'm going to go for criminal charges against them

On the day that James , the photographer , was due to arrive at our home to take photos of the house, we received a call stating that he was held up in a queue on the A120 due to a bad accident that had just occurred. After a couple of hours James finally arrived to take the photos. It was a hot day and my initial thoughts were that he wouldn't really be in the right sense of mind to take creditable photos of our house. James turned out to be a very friendly and likeable person from the very outset. He was courteous and polite at all times and showed us the photos he had taken for publication. He even took a couple of photos of our dog which , as promised, were sent to us free of charge . It is very refreshing when people you don't know are so so friendly and obliging. Thank you James.

Wow, after 15 months of dealing with another not so Great local estate agent in Colchester, we moved across to Harris and Wood in Colchester. Elliott Branch has been just simply brilliant!! Having worked in the industry, one thing Estate Agents typically don't do well is communicate. If there was a league table, Elliott would be at the top. He did every single thing within his gift and found us a buyer within 1 week and at every stage throughout the process communicated to us as vendors. That's all we asked and he surpassed at every level. Selling a house is not the easiest of things to do but if you want an Estate Agent that will support you.. Go to Harris and Wood.. I have been impressed with Harris and Wood since I first called them to get a quote on selling my house. I was living out of the country and they made real effort to contact me to check at every stage and liaised between my tennants and management agents, as well as with my solicitor. My first buyer pulled out but Marcus Jarman was straight on it and within 4 days had a open house and three offers. It has only been 10 weeks between the offer being accepted completion. I used Harris and Wood in order to let while moving internationally from the United States to Colchester/Ipswich area for work. Being new to the country and not knowing anyone here I felt extremely comfortable through all parts of the process with the Harris and Wood team. From beginning and first visit with Connor to see the location to the many (many) phone calls with Jessica King as we worked through the complexity of me being international I felt super grateful for their help. Moving house is stressful and our transaction was particularly so due to numerous issues with the conveyancer and the overall process in general. Although at times we felt stressed, we also felt relieved to be able to call up Harris and Wood and get updates / call backs almost immediately and I must say they were very responsive and helpful all of the time. Marcus was particularly helpful , as was was Marc, and without the team work and constant efforts we would have struggled to complete at all. We found all staff to be kind, friendly and responsive. Lichfield is the worst

Dealing with a customers worrying about their behaviour and complain after the contractors work like put soiled toilet to the carpet when they fixed the pipes, or left behind a sharp opened carpet tool knife where a toddler crawling ... with atleast three huge RUDE thing. 1. I can't deal with this STUPID woman !!!!! (me, after my complaints what can see above) 2. ONe of the contractors has covid, now se will probably get it (right after the big histerical pandemic it could be a huge wish especially with small kids in the household) 3. all or her racist CRAP ( after i told her my concerns why they are so rude and unpolite to me and why we had to wait 3 years to fix a broken window what was forgotten again again and again )... EACH of these ARE perfectly describe the policy and the workers of the LICHFIELD TEAM !!!!! All of these experiences are from 2 years ago , but unfortunately Trustpilot can not deal with longer issues .

Are the staff in the Highfield Road…

Are the staff in the Highfield Road office volunteers on some sort of day release programme ? I can only presume so because no company management in their right mind would pay them to do NOTHING, my 3 messages to request a viewing fell on deaf ears, yet it is still available for rent, appalling behaviour, does the owner of the rental know who they have looking after their property, in this case they soon will, Land Registry gave me the owners details and I am in the process of asking the owner directly for a viewing appointment as their "representatives" are awol.

Ok so I’m different to other reviews as I brought a house that was advertised via Harris and Wood. They keep you updated with progress and whilst I wasn’t paying them a fee I wish I had used them as my estate agent selling my house! Marcus is a first class estate agent and you get great customer service from him and all at Harris and Wood. Don’t bother getting that second quote just sign up with these guys

Very bad customer service.

Very bad customer service. I requested for a viewing and the agent texted me over WhatsApp about the viewing times and said viewing can be done only on weekends and evenings. No other estate agents texted me over WhatsApp and others called me directly when I made a inquiry and even scheduled my viewing appointment according to my preference but this agency seemed not so interested in selling the property or whatever. Next thing when he finally had a suitable time for my viewing, I had to cancel the viewing because my car was in the garage and they said it was not ready for collection so I called the estate agent to inform him about it and this guy was so rude. He didnt even say bye and just hung up. Very disappointed.
