Not 24hour access unless preauthorised - and at some point, chargeable

I went along on a Sunday afternoon, 4.15pm, just outside of their office hours, with some stuff to add to my storage unit in Guildford. The system denied me access.I phoned, emailed and went back first thing Monday. The system was down so they couldn’t tell me why I hadn’t been given access. I have now received an email from the manager saying that I was denied access because I hadn’t emailed to request out of hours access! I was not aware that I had to get this pre authorised. I have accessed my unit several times before, out of office hours, with no problem. They now say each out of office hours visit has to be pre authorised prior to 3pm, and is free at present but will at some point be charged for! I’d strongly advise that you avoid the very inappropriately named Access Storage service.I note another reviewer on here was also not aware that it was not 24 hour access as advertised. One reason I went for it was the flexibility of access. I’ve asked them to point to the small print that presumably states that access is limited. I was certainly not aware. They haven’t even got clarity over their office hours - sign at the facility (which you can’t read from the road, what use is that?!) says one thing, website says another. On the plus side, the staff are always very pleasant and friendly. But that’s not much use if one cannot access out of hours. More negatives are the very tiresome access (when one can!) with a constant intrusive alarm, door constantly closing, inadequately small trolleys, terrible lighting (take a head torch) and out of date, inconsistent notices all over the place telling you to do this, don’t do that, don’t use the lift out of office hours (seriously?!), you’ll be charged if you do this, etc etc. I need storage for at least another year so I will be looking for an alternative. Had an excellent experience with Storage Geeks in Chertsey a few years back, I only didn’t use them because they’re a bit further for me now, but they were most definitely 24 hour access!

It’s been two weeks now I have been…

It’s been two weeks now I have been waiting for my refund and nothing has come of this I tried calling the northampton branch and was advised to email head office so I am now out of pocket and no unit and no refund you can never speak to anyone who knows what’s going I will be reporting them if I don’t have my refund which would now be two weeks after I was told the unit was cancelled, also I questioned a welcome email I had received and was told that this was an error very bad practice and rubbish customer journey and service!!!

Unvalued customer

I'm a new customer, just for putting an extra padlock on my unit, I was sent Email given me one week to come and remove it" URGENTLY "and I highlight the word urgently, including a phone call that was a bit harsh, I understand it's a one of the rules but I didn't know that unit i double checked the policy, Ias i said it's not like I've missed a payment or anything everything is paid plus you have my bank details. Anyway that didn't make me feel like a valued customer. I hope this review helps with something!Thanks.

I would highly recommend the service and convenience of using Access Storage Hornsey. From even the initial quote and the discussion regarding information, right through to the date I moved into the unit, the team were very, very helpful.I realised I needed to upgrade to a larger unit when I arrived and they made it so swift for me and painless.It’s a very clean and conveniently located storage facility and the parking spot gives easy access to load/unload with plenty of large trolleys at hand.Thanks to the gentleman, Abbas, Yogi and Danny (forgive me if I’ve misspelled anyone). for making it a very pleasant experience.Will definitely use this service in future.Many thanks again.

Dependable, good value storage

This is my second year in a row of using access self storage and they have not disappointed again. As in my review last year, I was impressed with their friendly and efficient service, from information on the phone and setting up in store. They provided the best value storage in Birmingham even when booked last-minute on the day. Having to download the app to get codes is a bit of a pain but that is the only gripe. Highly recommend.

Great experience

Great experience, lovely helpful staff. No issues to our locker - though there was a big flood which we were thankful just missed our stuff! Great deals - we ended up moving from across the road because the price was unbeatable. Would happily use again. The only down side is the very annoyingly loud beeping sensor every time you walk in and out of the loading doors.

Storage time

I want to complain because I have been their customer for 4 months and I had a 35sq ft storage and I moved to a smaller one and since I finish work after 7 pm and the storage closes at 6 pm I asked if I could have access to the storage and at the beginning, I was told yes that they would call me back and they made me wait 5 hours and if I didn't call them they would leave me waiting and in the end, they told me that I couldn't have access to the storage after 6 pm for security reason but only those who have the big storage which I found discriminatory also because they should have warned me before I booked it but nobody told me anything. And I found that unprofessional.

The staff were very helpful and the facilities were good. The issues we had were that there is no usable phone signal at the facility and there is no wifi. Therefore the app that you require for signing contracts and even accessing your storage does not work. Which led to me having to drive 2 miles down the road to get a signal to sign the contract. I am baffled as to why they don't make their wifi available and solve the problem.

Best decision i made was to use Acess…

Best decision i made was to use Acess self storage Cheam and I recommend now everyone that ask for storage.I am pregnant with little one moving by myself.They were absolutely amazing, patient, kind to my little one running around and quick service, the movers were outside, 5 minutes and all done ready to move my things in. I had called around a few places for quotes and found the team at Access to be the friendliest and most helpful- without being too pushy. They offered me a great, quality deal and I’ve been so impressed with my storage experience thus far. I’ve never had a storage unit before so didn’t know what to expect. No 24hrs access, despite that being on the website at the time I was looking for storage provider options.No clear indication of temperature environment. Even phoned staff and asked for the staff to check and send me a reference to the temperature details, several working days have passed and no information.Asked three different staff about 24hr access and was given three different reasons that it is not available to me.Overall basic and acceptable, but personally regret not being more fastidious in my storage provider search to tie them down to details, before handing over my money.The staff themselves (one lady in particular), are personable, pleasant and friendly, so my issues seem to be caused at management/company level.
