My storage unit was broken into at the Twickenham site. Despite the alarm being triggered twice ( according to access ) in October and December 2021 Access failed to notice that the unit had been broken into. This has not only resulted in the loss of approximately £50k worth of irreplaceable property but because access failed to investigate the alarms the chances of recovering any of this are virtually zero.To add insult to injury Access have then charged me for 19 months for an empty unit!.I would be very wary of using this company - indeed anyone storing anything on the second floor where the units have a mesh roof I would ask to move to a unit with a metal roof as this is not only how the thieves were able to view the contents of the unit but also how they broke in.After 3 months I have yet to receive any feedback from Access - which shows the contempt that Access has for their customers.Naively I trusted this company and have been badly let down. Please don't get caught out like I have been.@Access - please don't place a generic response to this review along the lines ' sorry we didn't meet your expectations this time'. It's just meaningless - the fact I've had zero communication since making you aware of the break in would suggest you are more interested in trying to cover your backs for the systemic mistakes that you have made.

Whilst staff at the branch were very good and helpful, customer services were no help at all. I closed my account and with the advice and promise from staff access took a further payment from my account after the closing of my account and promise that no further payment would be taken. Upon raising this with the branch I was promised to be refunded within 3 days however it has been 11 days since and I have not been refunded. I have contacted the customer services team and told to email however the email bounces back without any explanation. Don’t know what to do as I’m told I have to continue to wait. Service and communication has been really poor and access couldn’t keep their promise.

They increase the prices by ridiculous amounts year on end with absolutely no change to service. You would think they sweep out your storage unit for you on a quarterly basis.They trump it up to protection and insurance but I see no state of the art security features installed to justify this money grabbing behaviour.Only because I do not drive I am limited in how easy it is for me to leave but I found a good moving company recently so I'm shopping for other storage units asap.The storage managers are very lovely, the money hungry leadership team in the head offices who want their yearly bonuses are criminals, shame on you.Edit: my review has nothing to do with staff at access storage to make it clear, it's about the leadership who make the top level decisions. The storage people are lovely, patient and helpful. So don't try to push any blame on them.

TrustpilotOver 6k worth of damage and not even an apology
Dreadful experience with this company. Over £6k worth of damage to goods that got completely soaked when the leak they had was never fixed properly prior to us renting the unit . Insurance policy they provide is very poor and not once did we get an apology from the company . They wouldn’t even move goods into a dry storage unit once the original damage was found and further damage was caused . Access didn’t even offer to return any the rental money . Avoid Nottingham storage at all costs they never once offered to help. They made us photograph every item that was taken out of the unit and a combined total of over 20 hours were spent having to photograph and itemise every item ruined .

The service at the Charlton branch is disgusting. Bea and Shanice are the rudest customer service agents and have no customer skills whatsoever. The prices are higher than the other branches however they do not offer the same facilities. When I said to Shanice today that I was unhappy that the. Charlton brach was not offering the services that the website claimed, she told me to give my 7 days notice and find another storage place. It’s cheap and nasty and gives the Access Storage Brand a dodgy and tacky name, in my opinion.
