GoogleWe stayed in a property provided by them. In 4 years no major issues were fixed in property, such the property was cold, leaking, cold air coming from the floor, mould. They just keep blaming us. Garden was full off weeds and broken or uneven slab, which has resulted in a nuisance for us and monthly cost for us. We have a child, it was a health and safety issue.
Everything was fixed in the property by landlord rather a professional company. Landlord did his best to fix but quality was low. We had a issues with Slugh for 4 years inside the property which was never resolved.
They are very bias. Every year they visited the property and mentioned property is in very good condition and when we left they blame us for most of the faults of the property and try take our deposit which we disputed.

In this instance, we would like to clarify that our maintenance team referred all your reports of maintenance issues in a timely manner. How these were resolved was, in this case, beyond our control. We are sorry to hear that the quality of repairs was not up to your standards.
We understand that there was a dispute over the deposit, which has been dealt with by the ombudsman, but we cannot comment further on the details of this as it is a confidential matter.
We appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best for the future.

GoogleI rented using this lettings agency for 10 years. It was with the Bolton office, which I believe has now closed, although my latter and final experiences with Chorley were little better.
From a tenant's perspective, this is the worst experience I've ever had renting, and I have been a tenant for nearly 30 years, previously in London and Scotland before round these parts.
I did not expect my experience here to be worse than the capital but it was significantly more unpleasant on various levels.
Faults must be reported via an online service and it is pretty much impossible to speak to a person to discuss outstanding issues as a tenant.
The emergency mobile phone number provided usually rang out without being answered which wasn't ideal.
Numerous faults that we reported were not fixed, took ages to fix, or were fixed in such a cheap way that the condition of the house was significantly worse when we left than when we moved in.
The six monthly inspections to ensure no serious problems arose were a joke from a tenant and landlord perspective.
Often rescheduled at the last moment (not ideal if you are working and need to rearrange), they were pretty perfunctory, lasting no more than 10 minutes for a four bedroom house.
This resulted in many issues being ignored despite being proactively flagged by us, leading to more significant issues arising-eg black mould reported in an extension when I moved in in 2012 was never fully addressed and has worsened over the years to cover an entire room.
At the end of our tenancy, they messaged to suggest we would forfeit most of our deposit, for issues that were not correctly inspected.
Subsequently they reduced this, after protracted negotiation, which required further investment of energy and time.
As a tenant, I would suggest you avoid like the plague.
As a landlord, you may not care about tenants but if you care about your property, I do not believe that this agency will look after it well, if my experience is reflective of their service generally.
Edited: the business has responded to my public review more quickly than it ever did while I was a tenant. 😂
If only the opportunity to post publicly had existed, without fear of being kicked out of the property, maybe my experience of fault reporting would have been different!
It seems like this is the way to get their attention.
Rest assured, they were certainly not this good at getting back to me whilst dealing with me as a tenant.
An online apology after the fact, to protect reputation, whilst having no relevance to my experience whatsoever, especially in the context of having default tried to maximise the amount of deposit that was retained when it was clear we were good tenants who had cared for the property, speaks wonderfully to the agency's business priorities.

GoogleThe team at FH Chorley did an adequate job during our recent property purchase. Reactive, rather than proactive, is the term I would use.
Lucy was polite and friendly, her work as thorough as internal protocol allowed.
Anne, sales progression agent, sadly achieved little to progress the sale and only once came to us with an update that we hadn't already found out about elsewhere.
Once we had armed her with all the tools, Amy assisted in helping the sellers to accept a reasonable price for their property, which had been on the market nearly 2 years. However, she was perhaps more proactive in asking me to write this review than at times during the conveyancing process. To have been asked to leave a review before the sale had completed, and then again the next working day after we got the keys, was a little pushy.
David, who accompanied us to a viewing right at the start, was perhaps the best team member we came across - though from what we gathered, he wasn't actually a member of the FH staff.

GoogleIt took a while to sell my late mother’s property (as it needed a fair amount of work doing to it) and during that time I was dealing with different members of the team in the Chorley office. They are all very friendly but I must admit they were not always ‘on it’ with responding to emails. However, Jacqui Pascoe stood out and was always really helpful. The property fell through twice but with our final offer there was a great deal of negotiation. I trusted Jacqui when she was advising me on these negotiations. Farrell Heyworth recommended Premier Property Lawyers as my conveyancers and I was happy with their services although communication between them and the team at Farrell Heyworth wasn’t great at times. It’s always a good idea to be proactive and I certainly felt that I had to do a certain amount of checking up on how things were progressing. I appreciate that everyone is busy so I didn’t really mind. All in all, I would recommend Farrell Heyworth. Just be prepared to keep an eye on the progress of the sale. I wouldn’t bother with My Farrell Heyworth - the online portal (I think it’s called) as it wasn’t updated.

TrustpilotPoor communication and lack of urgency
As someone who is actively looking to purchase a new property the estate agents do not seem very proactive at arranging viewings or getting back to their prospective buyers. There was no urgency to even arrange viewings for houses that have been on the market for a substantial amount of time. I managed to view two houses advertised elsewhere in the time it took for someone to respond to my first enquiry at Farrell Hayworth. It's only when I make multiple attempts to contact them that I actually get anywhere. Most other estate agents I've dealt with have jumped at the opportunity to sell a property. The only timely phone call I received was from their mortgage broker who tried selling me a mortgage even though I had a mortgage in place already.

TrustpilotMy review is 100 percent true based on…
My review is 100 percent true based on my own experience with the manager Daniel from the barrow in Furness branch on the telephone Thursday 11 may 2023 in the afternoon.I am from London not local and wanted to view a couple of properties in Barrow as I wanted to buy one, I had told him exactly what properties. Daniel had said we have no viewings available for Saturday I explained I'm not from here and still he would not offer any solution. He then went on to say we need to see proof example cash purchase or mortgage offer to view a property, basically judging me or thinking I might be a time waster. I have never experienced this, even when a client does a mortgage in principal on the phone or face to face they don't need to prove any paperwork until they want to make a full application.Daniel was very rude and he then mentioned look at the online videos of the property, I said I want to see it in person how can you tell a client to go online and look at the visual video when I have called to view the property myself? this is appalling service and off putting I would like to remind Daniel it is the customers right to view, and because many agents are so lazy to show properties like in this instance Farrell and Heyworth, they got used to it during covid and still using the same excuse, exactly what Daniel said to me. If I wanted visual online viewing then why did I call you?He then mentioned some people buy properties without viewing it, I said why are you telling me this? just see the absolute disgrace of manners? I then mentioned if I wanted to buy a car I would like to see it before and a house more so but clearly Daniel has no idea on how to talk his behaviour was the worst I have ever experienced with any agent or organisation in the UK or abroad.I then told him do not assume or judge anyone you have no right, when things go wrong in your life be it at work or outside this is due to your appalling attitude, terrible manners in this case no manners, low/cheap service. I suggest you go and learn how to speak, respect people and learn basic manners. Since my conversation with Daniel I have spoken to clients and people who live in Barrow saying Farrell Heyworth service is so poor and the bad experiences they have had themselves, the agent have lied to customers and the online reviews have been fake to give high ratings from people they know, fake ratings so the company is lying to themselves and the customers. So how could I trust you? They lost a true client but this was Gods blessings and saved me not to buy from them. Truth always prevails.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm sorry to hear you were somewhat disappointed in the experience. Customer service is extremely important to us and we always strive to operate with the best interests of our customers at heart. I think it's valuable to outline what our procedures regarding viewings are. Our process is as follows:All initial enquiries to view are provided with a virtual video tour which is received within minutes of the request. The virtual viewing is followed up and feedback obtained, this is extremely valuable to the owner of the property. If somebody wishes to then book a physical viewing we will ascertain if they are ready to proceed. A Mortgage agreement or financial qualification is then required to put the buyer in the best possible position to offer, along with acting solicitor details. The viewing can then be arranged. Unfortunately, we still receive many requests to view properties from individuals who have no intention of buying said property. If the person viewing the property wishes to make an offer, we would require a proof of funds at this stage in any event. We have found that proactively working with potential buyers to ensure transparency about their financial readiness results in a far smoother and more successful experience for both property buyers and sellers.Kind regards,Jeremy Collins, Director

I have recently moved out of a property I was renting from this terrible company. 3 years i waited for them to fix my bedroom window which would not open causing mould and a fire hazard. The bathroom was covered in mould due to no ventilation which they were made aware of numerous times and refused to fix. I left the property with 2 beds inside and a mattress. There were some bin bags in the garden too. They are now asking me for £780 for the removal of these items!!!! This company is disgusting and I urge everybody to never ever ever deal with them.

We have had the misfortune of dealing with other estate agents prior to Amy who have ignored us, not updated us and been quite frankly rude from other companies. It was like we hit the jackpot because the entire service was how it should be, Amy kept in contact (she even prompted us in a lovely way to get a move on) was always happy to chase around and made us feel at ease.
