Terrible communication, valuations and organisation.

We sold our flat with Bridgfords Swinton and the experience with them was terrible from start to finish. They over-valued our property by £15,000, meaning that when our buyers applied for their mortgage they refused to give them their full amount, causing us to have to sell the property for £15,000 less as we didn’t have the time to put the property back in the market due to our chain. We had further issues with our buyers’ mortgage application causing a huge delay in the sale, and we actually ending up initially losing our forward purchase due to this. Throughout this whole nightmare Bridgfords were absolutely useless. We told them time and time again to call my partner instead of me, due to our professions, and they constantly ignored this and rang me. We had to deal with our buyers directly as Bridgfords had very little communication with either of us, and would actually ring us to ask for an update on our buyers situation! Causing us more stress and an extra party to deal with and update. Whenever we spoke with Bridgfords they had absolutely no idea what was going on and couldn’t keep track of any part of the sale. They were by far more of a hinderance than a help. They also didn’t conduct any showings of our flat themselves (as they had initially sold to us) and we had to do every showing as whenever we asked them they said they were busy. They charged us £2,200 for the pleasure of all of this.Overall, if we ever come to sell again we will be sure to steer clear of Bridgfords and would highly advise others do the same.

We recently rented a property through Bridgfords - our landlord used them as a tenant finding service. We phoned and arranged a viewing of the property very quickly and they turned up on time and armed with the information we would need to rent. The documentation was processed quickly and we got the keys as soon as was possible. They even travelled to our local office to meet with us for us to sign the paperwork. We were so impressed. Thank you for great service :)

Dont Waste Your Time

I had a very bad experience with one of their estate agent in cheadle hulme. Be aware of Omara, she views you the property and stands still and doesn't even puts up an effort to speak or show the property. A pure lack of training and wonder how bridgfords keep a check? On top, if there's other properties to see, they'd give you excuses and never deliver what they promise, delays on delays. I guess barely they have good agents and mostly its all bad. Its pitty to know what such companies has such employee who works as if they are forced to do so.

I have dealt with many Bridgfords branches through work, along with various other estate agents, and I've found them to be top quality, and excel in customer services! They keep you updated each step of the way and go above & beyond to assist in any way they can! I can't praise them enough and regularly reccomend them to family, friends & tenants through work. In particular for me, Lyndsy McGlade, from the Chorley branch at the time was professional, yet friendly and it's rare to get a full team of people, also like her :) Thanks guys & keep up the great work x

Yes!!! 5-star rating for Stephanie who really went the extra mile in her efforts to help me find my ideal new home. Nothing was too much trouble and she gave me lots of new information as I got to know what is a totally new area of the UK for me. Steph must be a very highly valued member of staff and if everyone else at Bridgfords is of the same calibre then it is certainly an agency that deserves recommendations.

Just sold my house through Bridgfords, I can highly recommend them. EMMA was my personal advisor she kept in contact weekly or after a viewing . Not only did she sell my house but she helped me find another, although I did find one through another estate agent Emma helped me with the purchasing of this property. Nothing was to much trouble for her and I could not have fought my way through all the paperwork I had to complete without her she is a credit to Bridgfords .. so if you are looking to sell you property definitely use BRIDGFORDS you will not be disappointed.

After deciding to leave a different estate agent who had listed my property for over 6 months with no success and terrible service all round we were contacted directly by Louise in the Chorley office. Louise offered a home visit and within 2 days our house was on the market and viewers had been booked. This was an absolute breath of fresh air for me and my partner compared to the service we had experienced with the online estate agent we had previously been with. Bridgfords in Chorley have provided me with a truly first class service throughout the sale of our property. I cannot fault their determination, the effort they put in to proactively sell a property is second to none. The property brochure and the online listing that Bridgfords produced were of excellent quality, and the photographer they provided to take pictures of the property was an absolute gent. Big thanks to all those in the office who have helped, Louise, Emma and Laura have looked after us in a friendly and professional manner since day one. Phone calls are answered within 2 rings, and we have had regular text updates/phone calls keeping us up to date with what is happening with the property. My only regret is not choosing Bridgfords in the first place, I cannot recommend them enough. Big thanks once again!

Do not trust them, they will rob you blind

Do not under any circumstances go with these! They will steal from you. They never asked prior to us applying whether we would need a guarantor and because it became obvious we did after application they decided not to go with us and stole our holding deposit from us. We a family with a small child and a baby on its way and they refused to give us our money back. They wouldn't budge a little bit. Not even offer a little bit back. Horrible estate agent that will rob you blind. Do not trust them!!!!

Zero engagement for deposit return

My tenancy ended on 9th Jan and I emailed Bridgfords to ask how I go about getting my deposit back.Emailed again on 15th Jan saying there had been no reply received to my request.An agent did respond so say someone from the deposit team would be in touch.Chased again on 22nd Jan advising that nothing had been heard - to date zero response.They were very good when it came to take my money. There can be no excuse for the lack of engagement. A dispute has been raised with MyDeposit.

Not a very positive response to providing the service they offer, Enquired about 2 properties and after looking into one of the properties in a little more detail found the description to be misleading as it did not state that the house was on the main road but inferred that it was in a pleasant cul de sac and when I brought this to the attention of the agent she said take it up with the council as it was their responsibility, I duly cancelled the viewing as this was not what I was looking for and would not have booked to view if it had said this in the description, The second property was still booked but was informed that Bridgfords would telephone me with the time of the viewing , waited and waited but no phone call , I telephoned Bridgfords and they said there must have been some confusion and the tenant hadn't got in touch with them but they should have kept me informed if they if they valued my custom and would have found this to be professional being that they are trying to let properties.

We chose the Chorley Branch as our late Mother had long standing connections with Banks and Solicitors in the town.We did consider other Agents but liked the positive and enthusiastic attitude of The Manager and her staff.Equally important was the in-house connection with the Conveyancing Company recommended. The early sale was achieved from the considerable interest in the property generated before the property was ready for market.Price achieved from a seamless process with the Agent managing bids from a number of parties.Email updates really helpful.Calling with 2 bottles of Champs as a Personal thank you.!!
