GoogleDO NOT go with this company. They charge you ridiculous fees to rent a property. They were asking for £100+ per person, so that they could get money from the landlord. Why would I pay you a single penny so that you can get paid by the landlord. Shady company do not ever deal with them. oh, not to mention they do not disclose anywhere on their websites or in their adverts for student accommodation that these fees exist. This is illegal.

GoogleMatthews of Chester are a full service Agency with dedicated teams in sales, lettings & block management who we have had the pleasure of working with for two years - they really know what they are doing; and they do it with a very personable, amiable manner. Not only are they members of ARLA (lettings), NAEA (sales) & ARMA (block management) indicating adherence to strict codes of conduct for all their service offerings as well as minimum levels of knowledge (something all agents should be striving for); but they are really lovely people to deal with. I would recommend them for anyone looking for a sales agent, lettings agent, or block manager as have no doubt you and your property will be very well looked after.

GoogleI live in a residential block managed by Matthews who have been outstanding ever since they took over management of the site. They have been on the side of residents all the way and fought legal battles on our behalf to ensure residents don't get stung by developers and insurers for repair work. I have also used them more recently to sell my property and they have gone the extra mile to help me sell my flat despite very complex lease arrangements and difficulties with third parties. Thanks Matthews for everything you have done.

GoogleWe asked Matthews to sell our Chester house after having previously received extremely poor service from another much larger agent. Our experience with Matthews could not have been more positive. Sensible and informed valuation advice was reinforced by regular accompanied viewings, and successful sales negotiation. As the house was empty, sales staff also visited regularly to satisfy the expectations of our insurance company. At every stage of the sales process, communication was excellent, and the commitment, knowledge and general professionalism of the sales team was exemplary. In this global age of tick box management systems, and artificial empathy, it was very refreshing to deal with individuals who genuinely cared. Bravo Matthews, and Thank-you.

GoogleCalled this morning to enquire about letting a property that turned out to be unfortunately taken. I also had other questions about another property but the lady promptly hung up and cut me off mid sentence. Extremely rude and appalling customer service

GoogleArranged viewing. Arrived 15 minutes late due to traffic in Chester. Was not given rendezvous point or contact number of person due to be meeting me (Brian). Walked around entire area looking for him. Sent email to agent. Called office but number busy. Got through to colleague 15 minutes later. Was informed that Brian had my number but for some reason, he hadn't contacted me. Colleague called me back after speaking to him. He had left for his next appointment and had not bothered to call me to tell me. Colleague suggested I wait for 2 hours until next slot available. I asked her to contact Brian and ask why he didn't contact me. Nobody has since contacted me to offer an explanation or an apology as to what happened. I was interested in this property but due to this experience, I have no desire to follow-up my interest in it. The basic lack of competence and customer service is appalling. I would suggest any sellers to use another agent to help sell their property.

GoogleMatthews recently completed the sale of *** for me... I was extremely pleased and impressed with the way in which the agency handled the sale. After we had met Alex who valued the property and who made it so easy to choose Matthews to be our agents, I dealt almost exclusively, although not entirely, with Laura. I think that the two of us developed an understanding and telephone relationship that was efficient and fun throughout the course of the whole procedure. Laura's ability to guide me through each and every step of the process and her innate understanding of how best to react to the buyers' questions, and in a few instances "hurdles", was always "on the nail". Working with Matthews was a joy from beginning to end and I shall miss our chats. I really mean this - you couldn't have worked harder, or longer, more diligently or with greater humour. GoogleThe prospect of leaving my home of 35 years ,down sizing and changing town filled me with dread. However ,after a tentative email enquiry to Matthews lettings dept.approximately three weeks ago I am now a few days away from settling into my new home. The professionalism of the entire lettings team is a joy to experience,especially as kindness and patience is also in liberal supply.I recommend Matthews of Chester to anyone looking to rent a property ,from luxury penthouse to students room and everything in between. GoogleWe were very happy with the professional job that Matthews did with our conveyancing. They were easy to contact throughout, gave us excellent advice at each stage and always acted as though we were their priority (rather than trying to push us to accept a deal for its own sake).

GoogleI have never been so insulted in my life, despite having a good crediting rating i was unable to sign for a house due to a error on their system, even after providing them with external evidence such as a external credit check and a bank an credit check i was simply told that they had no time to speak with me and i should 'hurry up' this being shortly after lunch, as they had no time to speak with me i spent my entire day phoning them up to figure out why this error was on my account,when they eventually answered i was passed from person to person who had no idea what was going on. I eventually asked to speak to the manager who then implied it was that my credit score was at fault and i was financially incompetent. As someone who has worked every single day since i was 15 i found this very insulting, Especially as even she refused to look at the external evidence. If you are looking for a house i would strongly advice you go else where, as they do not care about customer service or understand the concept of good manners.

GoogleTERRIBLE, DO NOT USE! AWFUL! Terrible, unorganized and greedy. We rented a house from them and they failed to tell us (intentionally it seems) that it was also for sale. Spending the past year being harassed for viewing to sell a house we pay for with no notice or reduction in rent for the privilege! Finally they give use two month's notice to leave and then continue to harass us for viewings while we're packing! never again.

GoogleI own an apartment in Chester which recently underwent extensive external work. Matthews who are the block managers were professional and pro-active in getting the works complete under sometimes very difficult circumstances. Kevin and his staff have on numerous occasions worked above and beyond the normal call of duty. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Matthews in the future. Credit where credit is due. Excellent work and long may it continue.

GoogleWe purchased a house through Matthews back in the 90's and the staff were good then. So they were our first choice when we came to sell recently - and I can say they are still good ! We had dealings with several staff in the property management and sales departments and everyone was professional, very helpful, communicated well and did what they said they'd do. Matthews are the block managers and I would like to thank them for their hard work and "stickability" under very difficult circumstances. GoogleReally poor service, didn't advise me that I would need to be on an income of 16500 to get the house, passed all checks and then ended up out of pocket due to shortfall of income of less then £33 a month, unable to have a garentore so lost the property. Really bad communication and help once they've got the money off you.
