Brown and merry gave me excellent service and filled me with confidence when I made my initial enquiry. I was informed that they would have access to a tenanted flat the following week, so I called back to arrange a viewing. When I called back, I asked if I could see the flat that they previously told me they would have access too. I was startled when a member of staff informed me that they didn’t tell me that they would have access the following week. I recognised his voice, and it was the same man. Instead of delivering good customer service, I was abruptly told contradicting information I would have appreciated a good customer service response of: ‘we were expecting the keys this week, but unfortunately we still can’t gain access, I apologise this has changed, but we will update you as soon as we can gain access, would this be ok with you?’ I will not be using brown and merry again, and I have deliberately not viewed properties which would be an interst to me as I don’t want to increase their companies profits due to turbulent customer service. Potters and ford, frosts and chancellors have given me great responses and honesty all the way through. I have also informed my family that I would not use this agent. Maybe customer service training is needed for bad news, as I’m sure the rest of their processes are smooth.

This office has shown nothing but a lack of care and consideration for both landlord and tenant. Their communication is appalling. We had a rough experience with check in. Check out was a mess and to top things off 2 months after asking them to release the deposit to the tenants they still have not done so. The lack of professionalism has caused so much unnecessary stress for both my husband and I as well as the tenants. Awful experience.

As a First Time Buyer I found the prospect of the purchasing process a little daunting but this couldn't have been any further from the truth with Brown & Merry. The process of buying a property is never going to be stress-free however from first communication with Zebby and the initial viewing (and consequently receiving feedback to all my queries very promptly) to weekly check-ins through the sale process from James and constant assistance and help from offer to completion I really couldn't have asked for more and recommend them highly. I’m a buyer and they harassed me!!

Awful company. I went to look at a house they were selling and since then, they’ve called me 4 times trying to get me to sell my house with them. The typical conversation they start with me is - “your house has been on the market a long time. Is there any reason for it?Its a long time don’t you think?” Or “you won’t sell your house with us even if we charge a zero percentage”?. It’s all a scam this is how they get customers and they’re rude with it. I blocked their number and didn’t buy the house they were selling because they were too forceful.

Very disappointing service

Very disappointed with the level of service from the Stony Stratford branch.I entrusted them to sell my property for me, very poor and almost non existent communication from the branch including keeping an eye on proceedings with my buyer (first time buyer) which ultimately led to the upper part of the chain pulling out after 20 weeks when it came to light that my buyer had barely even started the process.A costly and very stressful experience.

Booking with Tayla

I went to view a property with my family. I had previously spoken to the agent Tayla and provided my details. At the property, we filled in the form to put an offer on the property. Everything seemed to go well! The following afternoon I received a missed call and voicemail from Tayla asking to confirm if we would like to go ahead with an offer. Having that I missed the call, I replied via email confirming the offer and I will be in touch the following day Friday. Come Friday, I called 7 mins after opening hours and advised the agent is on the phone and left my message once again confirming my offer. I called again, she’s on the phone. Called again in the afternoon as I haven’t received a call back nor acknowledgement of my email. To call this time for the gentleman to insensitively tell me they’ve let the property to someone else….. As a women of colour, this is very concerning to be have your offer accepted and unknowingly taken back with no communication. Taking into Considering how they’ve handled the matter, I would not recommend their services or agent.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - UNIQUELY INCOMPETANT

Having bought and sold many houses I have never received such inept, incompetent and just totally woeful service as provided to me by the Stony Stratford branch of Brown and Merry.They failed to manage my sale, communication was spectacularly awful, were in a total state of confusion and consistently failed to honour commitments.Upon signing up with them they performed a mail drop of the 'successful sale' of my property in the local area - without my consent. They sent me viewing appointments for houses elsewhere. They promised to call and didn't. They failed to return my keys despite numerous requests. All in all totally and completely amateurs.Final insult? Once my chain had broken down they dropped a business card through my door with the message "we'd love to sell your house" !!Please - trust me and avoid this company completely.

We are currently in the process of selling and buying a home at the same time for the first time which is of course a very stressful process, but with Brown and Merry, specifically Beth Stanbridge our mortgage advisor, we feel a lot more confident and supported in the process and heavily rely on her knowledge and expertise. She's very patient (lucky for us!) and always comes back in a timely and effective manner. Definitely recommend!!
