I am unfortunate enough to have Brown and Merrys letting tenants as my neighbours. For over a year they have been making my life a misery with noise , aggression , anti social behaviour, shouting , down slamming and arguments on a daily basis. I have no peace and no quiet and absolutely no support from the lettings agents. They do nothing and they appear to value the measly 10-11% of a 2 bed rent in tring (£100 tops ) above any owner. Perhaps they are as intimidated by the tenant as others in my road are but it is their job to deal with nuisance noise and breaches of tenancy. They do nothing and rarely acknowledge my emails. I’m a pretty easy going human but this is so irresponsible to others that Brown and Merry get 1 star ONLY because I have to give it to them. Beware moving into any property , as owner or tenant , that has any Brown and Merry tenants nearby that could impact your life. Exercise caution if they are involved as they truly care about no one but their commission. I’m disgusted.

He did a professional job was charming & very helpful .Also with good advice about protection & insurance. Good asset to B&M made it fun & was most helpful. Top Lad . Pass on my thanks

GoogleI was really impressed by this estate agents. Appointments to view were arranged promptly and I was advised of the arrangements by text. Charmaine who showed me around was efficient and extremely helpful. Its always useful to have someone gently showing you the attributes of a property as well as listening to how it might work for you. She also gave me some good advice on how to get a feel for the area itself. Thank you.

GoogleWe have managed to purchase our first home in late 2022. Although the property was not marketed by Brown & Merry, we were lucky enough to work with their mortgage team. Purchasing a property is stressful especially for first time buyers. Thankfully, we had James Gibson with us. As first time buyers, we did not know anything about the mortgages or any part of the process. His knowledge and advice made it all very clear and helped us a lot along the way. I really appreciate his patience and kind approach to our hundreds of repeated questions, always with a genuinely happy mood. All in all, we have been very lucky to have paired with James Gibson and Brown & Merry, Chesham branch. James and the whole team were always there to help and to make things go as smoothly as possible. I can not recommend them enough!

Never disappointed in answering queries and arranged a second viewing for us along with the kids, as they wanted to see the house we were buying. Brown & Merry in Watford started off well in trying to sell my house but tailed off badly. They were enthusiastic and created a good pitch and brochure for our 3 bed semi in Silkmill road,Watford plus an open day . An acceptable offer came in quickly but the sale fell through after 4 months. We felt they did not do enough to monitor its progress and their communication was v poor. After it fell through they did nothing at all to create interest so we terminated their contract. Would not recommend. Rightmove have been far better

I let my flat through the Stony Stratford branch and then - against my better judgment - agreed to sell through them. I can honestly say, the entire process was the very worst, most time-consuming and stressful experience of customer service I've had the misfortune to be on the end of. I literally don't know where to start in warning you to avoid Brown and Merry at all costs. There might be one or two good people but overall the culture and service, right up to the highest levels of this company is utterly toxic. Just some of the nightmare scenarios included my lovely tenants being given early notice without my permission, two entire sets of keys being lost leaving us with no keys, overcharging on invoices, buyers being given wrong information, documents being lost, quite literally having to beg rude, inconsiderate senior staff for updates, and a total refusal to accept any responsibility for really serious mistakes or even acknowledge they happened. It took months and months to resolve. The nightmare ended with myself and my poor tenants, plus my buyer who ended up withdrawing from the sale, all out of pocket and agreeing it was the most awful, stressful experience of our lives. We removed our flat and sold it through another agent. Please avoid B&M at all costs.

TrustpilotAbrasive and agressive sales call to try to get my business
I had a valuation from Brown & Merry and chose to go with another agent to sell my property as I felt B&M plan for selling was very agressive marketing that I didn't want to engage with. Since then I have had multiple calls to try to get my business. The most recent of which I found very uncomfortable; the woman on the call tried to make out I was stupid for not going with them 'I just don't understand why you wouldn't want more viewings and more offers' and then went through my current listing critising it and trying to sell their marketing plan. To finish the call as she would not listen to me saying I did not want to change my current plan of listing I had to tell her that I found her very abrassive and argumentative and no means no!

GoogleFrom my first phone call until now, I have received nothing but professionalism by the guys at Brown and Merry. Zebby and Charmaine were always prompt to viewings. They advised me and have guided me through the stresses of buying my first home. I cannot thank them enough.
