Gemma came to the property to give me an idea of what the asking price should be, she also made suggestions on how to improve the overall look of the house. A first class service, and Gemma was very helpful. I never felt rushed and I felt she was very knowledgeable

Expensive Washing Woes!
This review is based on my honest opinion of the way a tenant has been treated by Peter Alan.First the property was dirty when moving in and even kitchen cupboards still had rubbish left from previous tenant.Even worse than that after the washing machine broke down they were left for 4 months without one. Finally when it was replaced it ended up flooding the kitchen and property below. This has led to great inconvenience and significant expense for the tenant with having to make trips to the launderette. Not to mention the stress of trying to get it sorted with Peter Alan whom were very slow in response. £100 compensation doesn't begin to cover it!Avoid these agents they clearly have little regard for what they put their tenants through!

Don't recommend
I know someone who had to do their washing at a laundromat for 4 months because Peter Alan delayed repairing a washing machine. When they finally replaced it, it flooded the kitchen and left the property unusable for another few months. They offered her only £100 compensation for all this, which doesn't even cover the cleaning and laundry she had to do on her own. In my opinion Peter Alan is a terrible letting agency, with their dismissive and incompetent attitude towards tenants.

Unhelpful and rude
This is an honest review of my experience with Peter Alan. I've been trying to help someone I know get compensation from Peter Alan, because they left her without a washing machine for months. When they finally replaced it, they dumped the old machine outside (leaving the tenant to deal with it) and they installed the new machine so badly it flooded her kitchen and a neighbouring flat. My friend had to pay to use a laundrette for many months because of this. Peter Alan has only offered £100 in compensation, and when we contacted them arguing that she was owed more, they were extremely rude to us. I hope things improve but at this moment I cannot recommend them as a letting agent.

Tenants beware!
Tenants beware, avoid if you can!The following is my honest review of experiences from dealing with Peter Alan. My friend renting with Peter Alan had a broken washing machine which was ignored for months, leaving them to pay the costs of a laundromat. Then when the agency finally got round to fixing it, they fly-tipped the old washing machine onto the street, and didn’t install the new one properly, causing the kitchen to flood and water damage at the neighbours. Peter Alan cut corners wherever they can: they also promised a clean flat at the start of the tenancy, but it was so filthy and full of junk upon moving in that a professional deep clean was required, at the expense of the tenant!

Left a tenant stressed and out of pocket
Someone i know is renting from Peter Alan, and they left her without a working washing machine for months - when they finally replaced it, they dumped the old machine outside leaving her to deal with it, and the new machine was installed poorly, flooding her kitchen so badly that it leaked down to the property below. She had to pay to use a laundrette all those months, and the only compensation they've offered is £100, which doesn't come close to the costs she's had to swallow. In my honest opinion they don't care about their tenants.

Hiding from honest criticism
I went with some friends to support a recent tenant of Peter Alan's, who's been seriously messed about by them - they took 4 months to replace a broken washing machine, and flooded the kitchen installing the new one. The compensation they offered was less than the cost of the damage the flood incurred on her, and far less than the costs of living without a washing machine for months while they prevaricated on a solution. When we went over there, as a group, to make sure she wouldn't be talked over or bullied, they locked us out of the building and went home for the day! Absolutely appaling response to honest criticism, and a real showing of the character of their agents: happy to be a smiling face when you sign the tenancy agreement, but nowhere to be seen when the blame comes back to them. A true professional would have taken the critique with grace and promised to do better, but there were no such agents present on that day.

Completely screwed over a mate of mine…
Completely screwed over a mate of mine and just have to leave my honest opinion. Left them paying to get laundry done elsewhere as their washing machine was broken for over 4 months. They fly tipped it into the street and when they installed a new one, managed to balls that up and flooded the kitchen. No clue how they managed this as installing a washing machine isn't exactly rocket science. For all this they've only offered her £100... I'm sure the landlord insurance will pay them more than that for the screwed up kitchen! Completely rotten, be warned.

Excellent service from Sarah Hewitt when looking for a rental property. I popped in to the branch, and after a brief discussion she had a clear understanding of exactly what I was looking for and found me the perfect property. The whole process has been quick and efficient and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Peter Alan Chepstow, and Sarah in particular, to anyone looking for a property.

James Graham has been very helpful throughout our move. The process was simple and we didn’t have many concerns. The only thing that I would mention would be that the property was dusty when we moved in and I am allergic to dust which left me sneezing for a week lol but nothing major.brill service

I had an initial call with Sarah who asked what I was looking for in a property, area etc. Sarah found a property that fitted our needs perfectly. Very professional throughout and arranged to view the property the next day. Sarah called before the viewing also to confirm time and we had the address. She answered all additional questions we had when viewing it also. I would highly reccomend speaking with Sarah as she was attentive, professional, friendly and was extremely helpful. She is a genuine credit to Peter Alan and her work ethic should be acknowledged. Me and my friend want to thank you for your help.

If i could give zero i would
If i could give zero i would. Communication between departments is shocking, an absolute joke of a company. Complained about repairs being down in the house and they couldn"t care less if they got done or not so ended up getting evicted cos we complained. Then to top it off they took a key penalty out of our bond which we knew nothing about. Be warned they do have hidden costs. In fact don't even go there if your thinking of renting .

It took over four months to get my deposit back. The lack of action on their part shows either laziness and/or disorganisation.I had to constantly chase them and even then I wouldn't get a response for days.In the beginning, as I was getting the keys, I asked about rubbish and they just said to put it outside. This was incorrect. Come to find out there was no place for rubbish as is required by law to be provided.Be warned, do not let from or use any service from Peter Alan.

Absolutely shambles of a company
Absolutely shambles of a company. Put my parents home on the market with this company. They took photos and put the ‘For Sale’ sign up. We then realised new photos needed to be taken as we paid for the garden to be done and finished off what needed to be done inside. The new photos were emailed to them and Amy said she will replace the old photos immediately. After 7 days I asked again and was told the same thing. Then at the end of last week I spoke to another lady and she said she would get it done straight away. I’m still WAITING! I asked when I can cancel my contract with them and it’s at the end of the month. I can’t wait to go to a ‘professional’ company to sell the house. Avoid this company, there are plenty of good estate agents out there.

Absolute Joke.....
Absolutely shocking behaviour from someone enquiring about a "free valuation" of their house, they make you jump through a series of hoops on their website to get an online valuation which was my preference and then instantly ring you and try and force you to get a in face to face valuation, spam emails about the appointment and text messages. Come day of the appointment they called to cancel as the valuer was off due to sickness which is understandable and book it for the next day. Only to call the next day and say there isn't any point coming out to value your house as your only thinking about selling in the next couple of months, surely if i knew the value that would help me make an informed decision and as an estate agent you know SALES you would try and persuade someone to sell? Joke of a company stay away, wont be using them

Absolute worst letting agents
Absolute worst letting agents, do not touch them with a bargepole. My partner rented out his house with Peter Alan last year. From day 1 the family they put in there caused issues. Peter Alan wasn't sending us statements, never kept us upto date of the rent and why not paid etc. Now in situation where the boy has confirmed he won't leave until court order issued He also confirmed that he was homeless and sleeping in a car before renting the house and when I asked how did you pass eligibility checks he said I have no idea. We are now in process of going to court to gain back possession. Peter Alan have done nothing. Diabolical firm, avoid at all cost.

Very unhelpful. Gorsenion
Very unhelpful, Amy B, who i spoke with on more than one occasion was rude and unprofessional. Terrible phone manners to the point she made me very uncomfortable. They selling my late father home. Ive never been spoken to so abruptly as she spoke to me. In a job dealing with customers you think she learn even basic phone manners.

If I could give lower I would
If I could give lower I would. Recently rented a property from them, moved out earlier and allowed them to over viewings on property whilst living in property. The house we had was furnished and the washing machine broke during our stay, the landlord couldn't be bothered to order a new one so informed us to purchase one and reduce it from the rent, when we moved out they deducted this money from our deposit which we are still waiting to have returned. They have clue about communicating between departments. I will definitely avoid in future. Thanks Peter alan
