If I could give 0 stars I would. Bairstoweves is an absolute and utter disappointment to say the very least. We are students, looking for housing and now we do not have a place to live and will likely not find anywhere due to us cancelling many other viewings thinking we had a house. They pressured us for money to secure the property which they are not returning to us immediately despite initially giving the property to us. They then proceeded to tell us an hour after signing an agreement that they had already given it away. Definitely do not recommend for students especially.

Dagenham Heathway BranchI wish I had checked these reviews before signing with them to sell my house. There is no customer service at all. Completely unprofessional and evasive; when you call their office, it goes straight to voicemail and no one ever calls you back. Why should the person paying them for a service have to constantly be chasing them for updates. The mind boggles at how these people manage to maintain their careers, let alone compete in this market. Needless to say, they have been sacked. Note to others: avoid.

Rental office in Lincoln is poorly…

Rental office in Lincoln is poorly managed, the office staff tell lies and cannot be trusted. There is no interest in, or care of, the tenants and have been neglectful to the point of being unsafe. We had the environmental health officer involved due to their shocking management and communication. Would advise anyone to avoid this company, anywhere in the country, as having been in contact with their head office, their unprofessional, disgraceful service and attitude is ingrained throughout.

I wished i had looked on here before i used them to sell my flat. Avoid at all costs. There is a a number of lies that were told by the staff1). they told me they only offer a fixed fee, but then told my neighbour a few weeks later that they offer a percentage. Even when i asked for an explanation of this I never got a response. How can you expect someone to make an informed choice if you withhold information.2) I was told the purchaser was in a position to move quickly. I was informed by the staff that she purchaser had applied for her mortgage, then i was told they had problems with the computer system (for 3 weeks), then the rates had changed and they were arguing with the bank trying to get her the initial rates. This is complete nonsense as the rates are what they are and if you don't get the rate you want then you go else where. All in all the purchaser took 9 weeks to apply for a mortgage and when I had asked them to put the property back on the market they did not. Unfortunately as I had moved to another part of the country, i could not easily go back. Even the after sales lady for the estate agent for the property i was buying stated that Bairstow Eves did not know what they were doing, and what they were saying did not make sense. 3) I was told to pay for this package and you would get money back, which never happened. Then when i questioned this you only get it back if you use the country wide conveyancers However, this was not explained at the time, again withholding information. On top of that they charge you for pictures. They would not listen regarding the price i wanted the property to be listed at making an excuse it would get lost in the search. That is utter rubbish as i had paid for premium listing, and you can filter the results. They listed parts of the property wrong, and even though i contacted them it was never fully fixed. They are the reason estate agents are hated, and if i found my dream property and it was listed with bairstow eves i would leave it.

Oh, where do I even begin with this glorious letting agency? If you're looking for a masterclass in ignoring customers, avoiding responsibility, and achieving absolutely nothing, then look no further! These guys are true professionals, professionals at not responding to emails, never answering phone calls, and generally doing less than the bare minimum. In fact, I think they’ve elevated “doing nothing” to an art form.Need something fixed? Good luck with that! Expecting a response to your tenth email or phone call? How adorable of you to think that would happen. They’ll take your money with the kind of enthusiasm you wish they showed for literally anything else, then proceed to vanish like Houdini.Recommending this agency? Only if you enjoy watching a slow-motion disaster unfold in real-time. If “complete incompetence” is your vibe, then these guys are your perfect match. Stay away, unless you want the full experience of banging your head against a wall while screaming into the void. Absolute shambles. Even one star is far too much for the customer service, or rather lack of it, they 'provide'. This is a joke! Stay away from this agency if you can. Even the complaint team (nicely called customer care team... lol) don't get the grip of what they are for.

Cowboy Estate Agents.Hi there,I rented a property in Keens Road, Croydon through Bairstow Eves estate agents of East Croydon. It was one of the worst experiences I ever had in England...1. They gave wrong keys to the garden, so we did not have access to garden for almost a week. It look a lot of emails and phone calls to eventually get it.2. Property was let to us with children paintings and dirty drawings3. We were refused use of access to garage at the end of garden though no mention was made in the agreement. We had to sell a few old furniture so cheep because of that.4. We had to struggle for over a month and half when we eventually left the property5. They threatened to deduct almost half of our deposit for fabricated complaints and we had to complaint to the Deposit Scheme to eventually get it back.I have already strongly advised a couple of friends not to use this estate agents. I strongly suggest everyone to think twice before using these cowboy estate agents.They are so sweet until you pay the deposit and sign the agreement and are a nightmare after that...!A very disgruntled customer,Faz Ali

Abysmal company! COVENTRY OFFICE

My son viewed a rental property and put £250 security deposit down. Everything was going through ok until today when he was told due to his bad credit it would no longer be available to him. The form he had to fill in mentioned bankruptcy and ccjs which he doesn't have but apparently that meant other debts too (which was not stipulated!) Insinuating that he lied on the form is downright outrageous and are refusing to refund his £250 (when he was told that the only time it would be withheld was if he himself changed his mind). I was willing to be guarantor if needed but when he mentioned this it made no difference. Absolute rip-off merchants, uncompassionate beyond belief! Awaiting now for confirmation within 24 hours of a complaint ~ 14 days to rectify before I consult my solicitor and the ombudsman). Steer clear (of Coventry branch anyway).

This is a review left by a Landlord, bunch of con-artists, dishonest and I have never met a bunch of such deceitful people.They cannot tell the truth, they play both sides and are extremely poor at that. Make up fantasy stories, quote law which none of them are qualified to do. I feel sorry for tenants having to actually sit and listen to their complete and utter rubbish - thankfully I do not need them and would never use them again. Even if I had a shed for rent I would not give it to these bunch of jokers. That is the service from Nottingham Maid Marian Way lettings department.

Absolutely the most appalling service I have ever received. Do not even consider the Lavender Hill branch in London as the "manager" Luis Valois is extremely rude and dismissive not to mention the language used. No help, no customer service and the manager withdraw the offer in my name. I have been renting for a lot of years and I have never come across such unprofessional and outrageous service.I would like to make a formal complaint as I am sure the way my offer was handled was not legally done.

I find this company very incompetent

I find this company very incompetent, they can’t follow simple instructions, all I asked of them was to close all blinds as the property was empty which they repeatedly failed to do and on one occasion they left the conservatory door wide open and left site, if I didn’t have security cameras fitted around the building that door could have been open for a week!!

Then - when the time came to finally sell up (moved overseas) - they also sold my apartment for me. Overall it has been such a pleasure to work with the Bairstow Eves branch during our buying process. All the staff are extremely friendly and ensure that any enquiry I have is answered in a prompt manner. From viewing to completion I have had the pleasure to work with their branch manager who has gone above and beyond on numerous occasions. She continued to amaze us as our experience with other estate agents have been average at best. Bairstow Eves Chafford Hundred have lifted this bar to a extremely high level. My partner and I genuinely feel that the buying process has felt a lot less stressful due to the support from Lydia.
