My friends and I have been renting the same flat for the last 3 years. Along them not everything was perfect with the agency in general. But, we must say that Karl McWilton, from Bairstoweves Bow, has always been very reassuring. One of the best agents we've ever met.It sounds silly, but not all people who work in an agency, actually make an effort to help both sides ( landlords and tenants ). We have some really bad experiences, but with Karl we know he would always try to help us if possible.Thank you Karl!!!

Rude, dismissive staff

Bairstoweves Mansfield: We were first time buyers and had an offer accepted on our first home. We had paid the £400 for searches to be done and £495 for a homebuyer survey. When the survey came back advising us that purchasing the property without first consulting a structural engineer would be 'most unwise' we voiced our concerns to the branch. Initially we felt they had dismissed our concerns, and they told us to email the survey over and they would break it down for us as these reports can look scary to begin with. Two working days later we had still heard nothing. In the meantime we had been in touch with a structural engineer ourselves who advised us from him reading the survey and looking at the pictures that the most sensible thing to do would be to walk away. He also advised we would be unlikely to be able to get a mortgage on the property and even if we did we would be unlikely to get buildings insurance and repairs would be extremely costly.Despite being told by Bairstoweves they would be in touch about the survey we heard nothing. We decided to call the branch to advise them we wanted to withdraw from the purchase of the property and were told we should not listen to the structural engineer as he had not physically been to the property. When we tried to explain what we had been told in regards to what would likely happen if we tried to get a mortgage on the property we were interrupted and told 'right I'll just put it back on the market then'. We then went on to ask if they would keep us informed of other properties coming onto the market in the area and was about to say we would up our budget to £160,000 but we were cut off again and interrupted and made to feel like she did not wish to continue speaking to us now we were no longer interested in purchasing this particular property.We felt as though we were made to feel like time wasters despite us already having spent nearly £1,000 on the process and were serious about buying the property as it was in the perfect location for us. Nobody was more upset at the outcome than we were and a bit of kindness would have gone a long way! This experience has put us off ever purchasing a property with Bairstoweves in the future.

My terrible experience

Me and my girlfriend we rented a flat around tree weeks ago with this agency! When I saw the flat it was old but I didn’t looked at detail! When we moved in we realized how dirty it was ! We spent over 4 hours just for clean the kitchen! There was oily fat stuck underneath the fan and cupboards all the drawers was so dirty and with food like cooked rice left over! When I saw the flat the mattress was covered but when we moved in we saw the mattress and we couldn’t sleep in because it was so dirty and full of marks we didn’t have any choice that buy a new one ! Also the sinck in the kitchen is licking,the toilet seat is broken, the shower doesn’t work we have to trouw water on our body because there is no water coming out from the phene shower, radiator in the leaving room doesn’t work so we are basically without heat in the leaving space! Now after tree weeks no one of this problem as been sort out! I leave you judge my experience with this state agency! We looking forward the day we can leave this property! Please avoid this state agency!

SCAM SCAM SCAM - AVOID

This company ruins people's lives. Shame there is not a Zero Star. After making an offer on a property being sold by Bairstow Eves and getting it accepted, we proceeded to instruct our conveyancers to do the searches on the property. Once the searches were complete and the mortgage also got approved by the bank, Bairstow Eves came back to say someone else has made a higher offer and put pressure on us to increase our offer. We were shocked because we were told that our initial offer had been accepted. Nonetheless, we increased our offer by £7,000 and was told our new offer had again been accepted. When we queried the agent on why the property was still showing online as "for sale", they told us it was an error and they will update it. That never happened. When we were expecting to complete the sale and exchange contracts, Bairstow Eves came back again to tell us that the seller once again wants more money because someone else had offered £3,000 more than our second offer. Now how can someone else make an offer on a property which has been sold (subject to contract)? How can you make someone start searches on a property that you know full well you won't be selling to them?We pulled out of the sale after that and had to quickly find another property to avoid losing the approved mortgage from the bank. We are also having to pay for the searches on the new property, meaning we have now paid twice. We did not receive a refund from Bairstow Eves for the searches that were carried out on the property they were selling after they accepted our offer. This company has no care for people's lives and livelihoods. Now that we have found a new property and is looking forward, GUESS WHAT, Bairstow Eves has got the nerve and the cheek to contact us again to say that the other buyer that the Seller chose over us has disappointed them so they would like to offer the property again to us. Can you believe this?Summary:- Offer made £265,000 - Accepted by B.E- Property pulled- New offer made £272,000 - Accepted by B.E- Property pulled again- B.E offers property to another buyer for £275,000- New buyer pulls out- B.E comes back to ask us (original buyers) if we would like to buy the house again at £272,000So my advice to anyone wanting to buy from this company is ... DON'T. Avoid them like a plague. Oh and that agent of theirs called Jake Kennedy... I just want to say "Shame on you."

This company is a fraud. Please stay far away from them...the so called manager Sean Lang asked us for a holding deposit. He drafted a receipt to show that behalf of Bairstoweves is taking a holding deposit for (subject and refundable after viewing the property) We were silly enough to given them the deposit. The property advertised was nothing like the picture. Absolutely disgusting, one month now & still waiting for my deposit to be returned. After numerous attempts of emails he stopped replying or answering our calls. Will take it further...His last email ....Good morning, It has been transferred via BACs , it may take a few days to clear . I bought my house in Barkingside through Bairstow eves. I had very good experience and everything went smooth. I had to rent out same house after some time. I choose again Bairstow eves, as these guys were so helpful to me. Luckily I was dealing with same person again. Elaine is the most helpful estate agent, I have ever met. If you're trying to rent from then…

If you're trying to rent from then please run away. Dont believe in the good reviews as they are all fake. Bairsstow eve have left a review in my name which is fraud and fake I am shocked. After my bad experience, I thought let me warn people by leaving a review then I see a review in my name already written. They have mentioned that I have rented a property of them. They never gave the property to me. After being dragged around for weeks, I chased these guys up on daily basis 10 calls just to get to them once. Lack of staff on letting side is not even a word. One employee is the manager and employee and everyday she is on annual leave. No words to describe these guys. I mean why are you guys writing a review in my name. I have reported your fraud and will take further action. Mahnoor is apparently the manager but she is always on annual leave, she made 2 appointments with me and cancelled out last minute and messed my entire day twice. I had no requested from landlord they told me call bairstow eve in hainault just to get Robert to tell me landlord says no because I have played them around. After seeing a fake review written in my name it makes sense these guys a fraud. Also if you are trying to rent from them good luck as one part timer is the employee they have thought her to lie and say I was on annual leave. This is a jokeI have income higher than they requested, homelet said your reference went through, I am also a landlord which puts me in the experience how but these guys are. I feel sorry for the landlords with them.

Absolutely awful company, totally unprofessional. Even taking into the COVID-19 situation which then became an excuse for bad service.Completely over promised and under delivered.Got my name wrong in the first email they sent me. That should have sent warning bells!!I had to chase putting up the for sale board.Emails went unanswered, I had to call them for feedback after viewings. No advice as to how to proceed with the sale when offers weren’t forthcoming.I feel very let down by the Walsall branch of this company.They weren’t even bothered about it when I cancelled my contract with them.Please take my advice and avoid at all costs.Don’t waste your time or money.

Very poor experience all round. Had a holding deposit on a new build, jumped through hoops to provide everything requested to keep the sale moving - every part of communication had to be initiated by myself. Led along by agent to believe everything was going well, turns out Chad Deakin went behind my back to sell the property to another couple. It seems a reservation doesn't mean much to this company.No transparency, very untrustworthy and unprofessional to say the least.On the bright side, probably a blessing in disguise as this company have shown their true colours from the start, not somebody I would want to appease in the future.

The Bairstoweves branch in Nottingham…

The Bairstoweves branch in Nottingham were consistently terrible at responding to issues. As a tenant in a flat managed by the agency, I had a few issues with the radiator constantly radiating heat. As the agency fully managed the property, I reported the issue which they didn't do anything about until a couple of months after (bearing in mind this was in the middle of summer when I made the report). After emailing them a few times and quite sternly, the finally contacted my landlord to resolve this issue. The inability for this agency to deal with serious matters that have been reported is horrendous. Would not recommend.

The worst agency ever

The worst agency ever. Rented a house. There was a leak and all living room floor was wavy, so they said they will fix it. Its been 6 months and nothing. So we moved out. It was terrible comunication, did not knew it they accepted the notice or not. Amy way, we managed to move out. I asked for my full deposit, on move out day, they said we will get full amount. The landlord approved. On 20th of March i asked where is my deposit? I got an respond that i need to confirm my bank details. I did. On 23rd i wrote where is the deposit. They said my wofe needs to confirm bank details. She did. I called them they said now it will be up to 10 days. 10 days later i wrote an email, where is my deposit. I got a response that i need to confirm my bank details! What a joke. Due to corona, we lost income, i need money, and they just playing around, wont pick the phone too.
