Professional, approachable and detailed local market knowledge

I was given 100% support and help while getting my property ready for rental, they helped me through the mine field which is private letting. Cumbria Properties and in particular Susan Mosses were professional in their speed of response, detail of explanation and thoroughness of securing the right client for us. I found them to be value for money and no request was too much, I am a fussy customer, and the staff were always available to answer my questions. I have used other letting agents previously and cannot fault Cumbria Properties, their local knowledge of the market and vast experience showed in everything they did for me.

Unsafe property rental

I used Cumbria properties to rent an apartment, initially they were very responsive and I was happy with the service. I have since moved out of the property as the landlady has been nothing short of a nightmare, the property had mushrooms and dry rot which had been covered up during viewing of the property. Once moved in Cumbrian properties then passed everything to the Landlady and basically washed their hands of any complaints. It was a fight to get out of the property early due to health concerns and possible structural issues, and the landlord is doing her best to keep as much as she can from the deposit. I wrote a complaint to Cumbria properties and just never received any communication back. I just don’t understand how they can tenant find, advertise properties with out checking if they are fit to rent out. After being made aware of the issues, they still helped the landlady find another tenant for the day after I moved out so the cycle continues!

I can recommend Cumbrian Properties as a professional property management organisation in Carlisle and surrounding areas. I decided to allow my home to be tenanted for a 2-year period as an opportunity to work in Australia presented itself for a similar timeframe. A daunting and nerve-wracking proposition for me as my house is very much my home that I love and cherish and will be returning to. Having the comfort of having an extra pair of eyes caring for my home as well as sourcing clients that respect my home as a short-term let only, has proved to be invaluable. Communications are regular and video-calls when requested for inspections (via WhatsApp or similar) have been offered which is very much appreciated. The organisation has a great team of staff onboard, and all have been very helpful when I've been worried, unsure or just need extra reassurance that my home is in the right hands whilst I am abroad.
