Cumbrian Properties always step up to the mark. I’m a landlord and have used this estate agent for over 20 years. There are a number of staff who are family and they have estate agency running through their veins. They are quick to respond and always keep you in the loop. Isla is a youngster but she has an old head on her shoulders. She’s great on the phone, paperwork and liaising with her clients. Her mum Jodie is also employed in the business and I used to deal with her when I first started using Cumbrian Properties. Her daughter has done her proud. Thanks to Isla and the team.

Mia and her team at Cumbrian Properties have been amazing since moving in last year (just before Christmas). The whole process was quick and easy and managed to get me moved into the property in such a short space of time. The team has also been fantastic with any maintenance issues and resolved them within a matter of days. I was also deployed overseas for 6 months, I got in contact and they have been amazing during my time away, they have checked on the house and kept me informed if they’ve needed to enter the property. Communication has been excellent, and they have always replied back the same day either by email or over the phone. During my time away I had some issues with finances, due to scammers. I managed to get in touch with Mia while overseas and explained my situation. Once again I couldn’t fault this team. They helped me through the process. Which was resolved quickly with my bank. Overall, they have been amazing and I want to thank them for everything they have done. I cannot thank you enough. Keep up the good work.

Can no longer recommend this company. Inspections of our rented out property were cursory, and the tenants made changes without our permission or knowledge - something this agent should have been aware of. The company are happy to collect their management fee and arrange repairs quickly, but do not reward landlords' loyalty. Deeply regret using this company to rent out our house while we were overseas. There are two sides to every story, and the petty reply from the company just exemplifies the problems we found. We were never given the chance to explain ourselves. Update July 2025: Now we have moved back into the house, we have found even more fittings missing and unauthorised changes. The downstairs bathroom was turned into part of the kitchen, with the tenants putting their fridge on top of the shower sill. That Cumbrian Properties didn't notice this beggars belief! Needless to say, our complaints went nowhere. Do not rent out your property with these sharks. Oh, and the company's response is inaccurate. They took thousands of pounds off us over the years to collect the rent (yes, job done) and 'manage' the property.

They have been fabulously helpful by recommending a great solicitor which has made communication between all the different parties to be seamless. Rebecca updates us with even the smallest things, which to some may seem like nothing, but for first time buyers like us, it's really giving us peace of mind and putting our paranoia to rest. Aimee Glendinging was brilliant, very helpful and informative. Overall we wouldn't recommend cumbrian properties. We were wanting to purchase a house they were advertising for sale. They told us the house we were really interested in was sold and contracts had been exchanged, they even put a sold sign in the front garden.. turns out this wasn't true and they had got it all wrong. Ringing us to say "it is actually 100% for sale." The home owners themselves even ripped the sold sign down out of their garden as they had viewings booked in. Secondly.. we out bid the other potential buyers and were told by cumbrian properties "to think how it made the other party feel that they have now been out bid" I was furious, like is this not how it works? when you go into a bidding war? Absolute joke from start to finish. The attitude off the receptionist was disgusting, making us feel awful for out bidding someone. Very unprofessional.

Throughout the whole application, Sue always kept me up to date with the process and would respond very quickly to any queries. Charlotte McGough was acting for the seller of the property we purchased. We had a few small issues and questions before and after our purchase went through. We didn’t really want to bother the sellers after the purchase so I went into the Carlisle office not necessarily expecting answers. each time I went in Charlotte was very helpful and understanding even though neither she nor the sellers were under any obligation to help. I visited about 3 times and each time she either approached and spoke to the sellers or left specific concise messages and we always had our queries answered from her with a smile and a friendly manner that left me feeling nothing was too much trouble and she was always happy to help.

I find this company to be very rude and…

I find this company to be very rude and unhelpful. A property we were buying fell through and since then we are unable to get a viewing with them for properties we potentially want to buy, emails just go ignored, messages on Rightmove to them go ignored, even though we know they have been read, which is not fair on us or the vendor. Vendors should be aware that potential buyers are not being given the chance.
