HORRENDOUS SERVICE!!!

HORRENDOUS SERVICE! I spoke with Kirkby in Ashfield Branch about potentially putting my property on the market with them. I paid £160 for the photos and ID check. None of which were complete as I was admitted to hospital and never signed the contract. Upon arriving home from hospital I found a for sale sign put up in my garden WITHOUT my permission and without us signing a contract! I have emailed them advising I won't be putting our property on the market with them as they completely overstepped my boundaries and trespassed onto my property!!They've removed the sign but NO REFUND YET! I GAVE MY BANK DETAILS TO THE BRANCH MANAGER LAST WEEK BUT NO REFUND AS OF YET! DO NOT USE YOUR MOVE!!! Should my money not be returned I'll be taking them to court! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! I WANT MY £160 REFUND!!! Eager to point out I find the staff in branch personally charming and friendly but this refund saga is simply unacceptable.

Hi Luke. Firstly I'd like to apologize that you feel you've not had the service that we strive to provide in our office. I would like to point out that we did have an appointment prior to your hospitalization to sign the contract to come onto the market with us. A key part of commencing the marketing is erecting a For Sale Board which, with the assumption that we would have had a signed contract by this point, was ordered proactively. We were sorry to hear you had been in hospital and ordered the board to be down the very next day. I can assure you that the monies taken will be refunded into your account, but as mentioned before, it is our admin department who process this - not us in branch. The monies will be refunded in due course. The team wish you the best of luck with with the sale of your property.

A brilliant service from Joe at the Northumberland Branch

We've been looking in lots of places and have encountered loads of different agents and agencies. We were assisted by Joe, who was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Having grown up and gone to school nearby, he was able to provide useful insights about the neighbourhood. We definitely felt like he went the extra mile, and came away feeling really happy about our experience viewing potential properties with him. 10/10 would recommend Joe and the Northumberland branch.

Easy to deal with, good experience!

I inherited a property in Scotland, some 500 miles away from my home in the south-east of the UK. We needed to sell it, and your-move's Elgin branch, in particular Siubhan and Daniel, made the process so easy. Especially so as I had no clue about the Scottish property market, or the sales process which is much different to England. I would happily recommend them, and would use them again.

Incompetent and arrogant. They don't care about your privacy.

YourMove is run by a number of incompetent young brainwashed employees who do not understand the law and respond in a very arrogant way at every occasion.Lately, I found out about a worrying trend in just a few estate agencies (and this is one of them), that started with the habit of asking for private information not required by law and not useful at the beginning of the renting or buying process. They ask you to provide them with your private address, and if you are renting, they will ask you your annual salary and the exact job title. Sometimes going as far as asking you the Company for which you work. These questions are asked the minute that you call them to arrange for a viewing.Instead, this information is only needed for credit checks when signing a contract. They want to save time and harvest information about you using as an excuse that their agents need to "feel safe" when viewing the house with you. They all use the same excuse, "feel safe", so to convince you to give away your private address and other pieces of information which are private or sensitive even before your decide to do business with them. You are going to give away your information, so that their poor agents can feel safe? Yes, sure...The arrogance of these people, thinking that they can obtain from you all the information they want, will stop immediately if you stand your ground and don't give them anything that they don't require. It's not a requirement to give away your private details other than your name a contact number in order to do business with someone. If they ask you to do that, it's an abuse that must be reported.A company does not understand that storing all the addresses of all possible buyers or tenants is a major risk for their client's privacy, security of their clients and their family living at that address, is a company that I don't want to have anything to do with. I encourage everyone not to do business with Your-Move. Choose reputable and well established companies instead that won't require you to do so because they are run by experienced professionals, not by a bunch of teenagers who can only follow the internal company rules without even asking themselves the sense of those rules.Or, if you are renting, use OpenRent instead, so that you will bypass any estate agents entirely, and will deal directly with the property owner who is certainly more capable than this bunch of uneducated junk.Update following reply from Your Move:I don't want to do business with Your Move. I'm afraid, it's too late. They didn't seem to be so keen to talk to me over the phone when I raised this matter.I will add more details here below for the Company to look at.In the UK, businesses are required to comply with anti-discrimination laws and data protection regulations. Discriminating against a client based on their refusal to disclose personal information that is not necessary for providing the service could be considered unlawful.Under data protection laws, individuals have the right to control their personal data, and businesses are required to process only the data that is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 outline principles that businesses must follow when processing personal data, including the principle of data minimization. If a business insists on collecting personal information that is not necessary for providing the service and discriminates against a client for refusing to provide such information, it may be in violation of data protection laws. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK is responsible for enforcing data protection regulations and may investigate complaints related to such practices. In the UK, forcing a client to disclose personal information, such as a private address, when it is not required for the legitimate purpose of providing goods or services, may be considered a violation of data protection laws. Specifically, this could be seen as a breach of the principle of data minimization, which is a fundamental aspect of data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.Such practices could potentially lead to fines and other enforcement actions by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). The GDPR allows for significant fines, with the maximum penalty being €20 million or 4% of the global annual turnover, whichever is higher. My sincere advice is to stop asking potential customers private details like private address, and only collect those if and when the initial conversation leads to a successful purchase or tenancy agreement.

Best agents in town in my opinion

We chose the Beccles Your Move team headed by Oliver James to sell our property and so glad we did!The team worked tirelessly to ensure our move was successful despite extraordinary challenges thrown at us by another agent handling our purchase. Particular thanks to Maya Churchill who picked up the pieces and ensured we made it into our new home for Christmas.Interestingly, Your Move was the only agents open in Beccles this afternoon (Saturday). Their hard work pays off!

West Denton Branch - Amazing Team!!

Worth every penny! This team is amazing I couldn't recommend them enough!Where do I start? Abigail is an unbelievable outstanding amazing person - she dealt with our sale and purchase (also a Your Move property). However the whole team (Ashley, Louise and Shannon) were always there to assist on her absence. Abigail was so knowledgeable when selling the property and was even able to advise on international law for bids from abroad and help guide me towards a good sale.It was not only that but she was amazing in assisting in negotiations with a property we were looking to buy (another your move property) and also made that sale so smooth.I was kept up to date throughout with regular contact and could always contact the office at any time for an update.I felt like Abigail went above and beyond her duty to make sure the sale/purchase went through. I couldn't put into words how good she is. I felt at times like she was the one in control, not the solicitors.I will always be eternally grateful for making the biggest life-changing experience so smooth!Abigail is an absolute star and amazing person ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

I went to viewing for a house and I was really interested. I gave all the documents she asked for’ but never came back to me. I emailed and called and went to office many times, but they kept telling me that they will call me back which they never did. I am very upset about it because now the house says let agreed on their website and they have still not contacted me or told me anything about this.

I have rented with many different…

Warning ⚠️ I have rented with many different estate agents in my life and Landlord and I have never had any problems till I rRented with Your Move Sheerness . I have rented 2 different houses for total 12 years . When I left the property’s Your Move try to convince Landlord to take as much of my deposit as they can for varies things including cleaning. Even though I have already cleaned the place thoroughly . I was spoken to very rudely over the phone many times . Shown houses in terrible condition to rent with graffiti and broken cupboards and excrement on the bathroom wall. Lost most of my deposit due to them being very petty .

//////In response to Your Moves…

//////In response to Your Moves response. Dumfries branch do not care about customers, it took them from early May until the end of July to get my property on the market. I had to complain in order for this to happen. I thought that this was bad but because they had already tied me into a contract they were not that bothered. The customer service went from bad to worse. I withdrew both my properties off the market as they were unable to sell them. As far as marketing them at the right price, the property next door went for the original price the property was marketed at and it sold. You are trying to justify an incompetent branch. And to top it all off, they lost he keys to one of the properties. They did not even communicate what had been done. So your response does nothing to sway my attitude about this branch. TOTALLY INCOMPENTANT.

Highly Recommended

We are almost at the end of a nightmare transaction - selling our house through another Estate Agent and buying through Your Move West Denton. They were the shining light at the end of the tunnel which kept us going. Abigail, Ashley. Louise and Shannon were supportive and knowledgeable. Always on top of what was happening, and patient when delays were caused by others. It was these ladies that explained things and kept us on track when we were ready to give up. We couldn't have done it without you!I am NEVER going to move again, but I can highly recommend Your Move West Denton to those that are thinking of it.

A BIG pain to get a response - terrible communication

It's a pain to get a response (on phone or email) from the agent I am working with at Your-Move. First of all, no phone calls whatsoever to view a property, or discuss my offer on the property. The agent didn't even come back to me until I kept on pushing for the response. Delayed response on the offer doesn't help if you want to go a bit higher though.. it's not only a waste of time, but also not a great financial decision to go with them. I could've gone higher if the communication was right and in time. Anyway, after chasing the agent for a week I give up and I don't recommend anyone to use these agents to sell or let.

Positive experience

A positive experience with Your Move despite a tricky process. Richard was great and put a lot into getting us to completion. He was always responsive and transparent with comms and I appreciate all the time he spent on it whilst dealing with a lot of friction! I would recommend your move and return again in future. Thank you!

Had a great experience with Your Move

Had a great experience with Your Move. They were able to recommend a property that matched my preferences. Throughout, they responded to my emails and calls on time. Being my first time in the UK, I had experienced challenges in securing a house to let despite numerous email exchanges with other agents. What I appreciate most is how Bleona outlined the letting process and followed through by keeping her word. The property was only available in a months time but her reassurance that I would get it accorded me peace (of course after background checks). Thanks Bleons. You were really helpful through out the process.

We have had a roller coaster experience…

We have had a roller coaster experience of selling out home - the sale fell through twice, once on completion day! But Sam was 100% committed to us the whole way. She worked tirelessly at all hours to get us viewings and to help us get a sale. Each time doing her best for us and also for the buyers. She answered the myriad of questions and was there for us the whole way through. Your Move Margate has an ethos of being a more nurturing estate agent, they work with you honestly and effectively. I would recommend 100%.

Wombwell Branch. From start to finish the team were great. Reliable, quick to address any concerns and we sold our house very quickly ( one week from advertising the property)Very happy with the whole team at the Wombwell Branch. Not Yourmoves fault.Yourmove were great and very reassuring. Thank you again.

Christine from Kirkcaldy branch is a superstar

I wanted to purchase a property and got in touch with Your Move Kirkcaldy. Christine was the best person I could ever imagine to work with. The purchase didn’t go through (due to external circumstances) but the cooperation with Christine was a pure pleasure. She is reassuring, professional and it seems like her job is her passion. I felt that I was in good hands and I would love to see other agencies learn from her how to build and maintain relationship with your customers. I would give 6 stars if I could. Thank you Christine

Passionate Team of Achievers, Working as One Team

The minute Stephanie Butts (from the Your Move branch in Kingsthorpe) walked into my home I felt confident her business was the right one to sell the house. Friendly and professional, relatable and informed she took time to talk through current market conditions. I was presented with comparisons in my local area, demo of the marketing and enthusiasm of hard work they’ll put in to get the best value. Proof was in the pudding and her and her team sold my house in less than a week. Sam in the office was fantastic and always made time to engage if I called and ask questions from our previous conversation. The agent who hosted the open day was punctual, well dressed and informative. They achieved over the asking price. The sales progressor, Jessica Roberts, is another outstanding addition to the Your Move team. Due to the legal hurdles from my purchasers properties it was a lengthly transaction. (No one at YM fault as a small chain - only 2 purchases). If wasn’t for Jessica’s grit and tenacity I don’t believe it would’ve gone through. Jo also did a great job covering Jessica while on annual leave. Stephanie, Jessica and the team are all clearly passionate about their jobs and it shows. They’ve demonstrated not only to me but others in the chain if you want to sell your property here then there’s only one company to choose - Your Move. Thank you to all, I hope your branch sets the standard for all the other branches - you’ve alot to share.

Superstar branch manager

Huge thanks to Gemma, the branch manager of the Chapeltown office. Despite being clearly understaffed and under resourced, she handled every aspect of the listing and sale of our property with incredible professionalism. From the beginning to the very end she has been a constant source of help and advice and has assisted us constantly. What could have been an extremely stressful time was made infinitely easier by Gemma and for that I am extremely grateful. I’ve already recommended Gemma to several other people who are looking to buy or sell properties.

We recently bought a house in Newcastle…

We recently bought a house in Newcastle and the Your Move West Denton acted as the estate agent working on behalf of the seller. Our case was primarily handled by Abigail but on a number of occasions we spoke with other members of the team. Despite our role as buyers, Abigail was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and supportive throughout the entire process. Whenever we called with a question, she provided us with simple to understand answers in a concise manner and where a query was longer she was quick to chase this up and get back to us. While the house purchasing process in general has been stressful and at times has dragged, I can't commend more highly the work of the staff at the Your Move West Denton branch who were by far the most helpful in ensuring that progress was made from week-to-week.
