We have recently bought a property in Aberfan to renovate and have been dealing with Sarah Elliot. Sarah is very straightforward and assertive. She showed up early for our appointment and answered any questions we had regarding the property. I would recommend Sarah as an estate agent. We have awarded Darlows a 4* review instead of a 5* because they have lacked in communication skills at times. The other day when they didn't have keys for the property, they failed to communicate this and when we turned up to collect them to let builders in to the house for quotes we were unable to do so. We could have avoided a wasted journey (from Cardiff) and avoided wasting workmen's time too if a phone call had been made to tell us they had no keys.

Darlows Caerphilly have been absolutely brilliant. Working with Livvy has been a pleasure from day one. Livvy combines complete professionalism with a friendliness that immediately gave us a complete confidence in her, and we've only become more and more impressed as the sale has progressed. The pictures Livvy took of our house were so startlingly beautiful that we will keep them always as souvenirs. My dad, on seeing them, actually said - "Maybe you shouldn't sell the house!" Darlows Caerphilly has amazing marketing - they make a proper video at your house and then get the publicity out with a very sophisticated social media campaign. Livvy has kept us up-to-date at every stage of the process - giving us excellent advice and making everything easy. She runs a great team, as well. Natalie and Claire have also been very helpful. I would recommend Olivia Roberts and her team at Darlows Caerphilly to anyone. They have actually made moving house a happy experience.

Darlows recently valued my property for sale and I found Claire Lea to be most helpful in advising me how to proceed with the sale of my house. Claire was very professional while maintaining a friendly manner (even my dogs were impressed and they are a very good judge of character!) the photographs she took were really good and I'm sure will go a long way to impress potential purchasers. I would certainly recommend Claire to carry out the sale of a house.

Appealing behaviour. Signed up approx 4 weeks ago to move into a larger rented property due to my partner being 5 months pregnant. Obviously with everything going on with the Coronavirus and my partner now 6 months pregnant I contacted Darlows to ask if possible we could delay the move because there is absolutely no way I can move the entire contents of 1 house out to another house alone..not only that I could not find a van rental company and even if I did I would be putting my pregnant other half at serious risk.I spoke to Darlows - won’t name names, told them of my issues and straight away the conversation was “ absolutely no chance can we delay the move... either bring it forward or keep to the date agreed” I said to the person on the phone that surely is the landlords decision and not yours and would appreciate it if you could call them to explain ... I may we’ll be a cynical person but I have had absolutely no faith that that conversation between Darlows and the landlord even happened.We had a call back - eventually , and that we was told the landlord said no we need to stick with the date and that if we do not move we will lose the fee’s we have currently paid ( even though we never once brought up the fees this was clearly used as a very poor tactic to try to keep the house move on the scheduled date )Again we explained and again we got told the same - NOI rang a guy in head office the next day who after explaining things to him said himself that he totally understood our situation and wouldn’t expect us to move either ( feel free to listen to the phone conversation) - he arranged a call back from the Lettings manager who called me back - conversation went the same - he said he would ask but Darlows was the middle man in all this and it’s totally out of their hands ( obviously)After another call we agreed to knock it all on the head - cancel the move and stay put because with the entire world at a standstill at very dangerous times , plus the fact it was totally impossible for the move to happen , we found it totally impossible for it to happen without putting the family at risk .The reason for this review today is largely down to a gutless email we received. Not a phone call, but an email stating that we will lose the £132 fee we have put down. How is it you justify keeping hold of this fee? What has this fee gone towards?The entire country is in lockdown, and with wages every penny counts, especially a family of 4 during these times and you won’t bother to refund us the fee’s - so I’m guessing you contacted a director like you said and it was he/she who said no to this request? Shame on you.

Darlows Pontypridd - Great Team

Diane and the team in the Pontypridd branch were great when dealing with 2 properties I was selling at the same time. I dealt with both Gayle and on occasion Courtney both of whom were great. Always returning calls and keeping me informed during the selling process. Diane was particularly active in one of the sales due to the buyer and his solicitor dragging their feet as it was a development property. Thanks to Diane's tenacity we finally got over the line. Great job from the team and I highly recommend them.

Contacted Nicole mid week as I had a buy to let purchase was completing on the Friday, Nicole had viewings arranged for the following Monday, by close of business Monday Nicole rang me to confirm she had a tenant very interested in the property and ready to go if I was happy :) needless to say I was, Nicole kept me up to date through out, did all the work for me and made it super easy for me, something that I needed due to being busy myself someone to pick it up and make it seamless for me and my tenant, and thats what Nicole did. We recently dealt with Claire Lea at the Darlows Caerphilly office, they were the last estate agent to come to our home and we almost cancelled the appointment as we had already made our decision to go with someone else, Claire Lea came in and changed our minds with ease, she gave off such good profession and confidence with no pressure at all.Before she even got back to the office we called up and decided to go with Darlows - yes they cost more, but after dealing with them we now know why.Claire was always actively working on getting our house out there and sold and we were updated daily by either Claire or a colleague - 14 days later we had an offer we were happy with and accepted! Thanks to Claire and Darlows Caerphilly we will now be receiving more money from the sale of our property than we would have if we had gone with any other agent even thought their fees were cheaper than Darlows. I dealt with Claire from the Caerphilly branch and she has, and continues to be, an absolute pleasure to deal with. We’ve been registered with Darlows Caerphilly for just over two months and have found the service that we have received has been top class. Claire Lea who has been the one dedicated to finding us our perfect home has not only been beyond professional but so friendly and approachable which was so important for us as first time buyers as we weren’t greatly educated in the buying process. Claire made us feel at ease straight away when we first met and explained and answered every question we had perfectly. Claire regularly calls both me and my partner to check how we are and to keep us updated with properties that have become available and would suit us. We had the pleasure of being shown around a couple of properties by the lovely estate agent Gareth Lewis from Caerphilly Darlows recently and this is our first experience with Darlows. Although for both of our parties, vendors and buyers, the ongoing purchase of the house we are buying hasn’t come without issues caused by Darlows, Gareth has instilled my faith in estate agents as an individual. Initial impression was how well groomed, articulate and professional he was. He was confident and knowledgeable about both properties remaining consistently impressive and has been so helpful to both parties, always keeping us well informed. He is easy to talk to, friendly and approachable, a great peoples person! Unfortunately Gareth wasn’t directly involved in our issues with Darlows, however he is the one who had to deal with the situation making calls that couldn’t have been easy, yet he dealt with them efficiently and remained very empathetic and reassuring throughout. This is testament to his exceptional customer care during a sensitive situation and bringing positive into a negative. I have worked in the customer service industry for 21 years for a very large well known award winning company, 18 years in a managerial role and I would love to work with Gareth! What a pleasure it's been doing business with Darlows Estate Agents in Merthyr. We used them to find a tenant for my Mum's house recently and ongoing we are using their property management service too.They were super-quick at finding a tenant for us and within a couple of days, they'd checked out a prospective tenant and the deed was done! It's only been two weeks between enquiring and a tenant moving in. We dealt with Gareth in Caerphilly after a couple of unsuccessful offers elsewhere. With other estate agents, we felt that the negotiator was on the side of the buyer and communication was generally poor. But Gareth seemed trustworthy from our first dealings with him to the last, when our offer was accepted on our house. He is a very good communicator, and we felt he was completely impartial - giving us enough information to know where we were but keeping enough back to protect the seller's interests.
