At the end of the rental period, we cleaned the house and left, the house was empty for a few weeks after we left, it may have gotten a little dusty in the meantime, the real estate agent told us that cleaning would be done, we accepted it but they charged us 340 pounds, even for the London area, a very high amount of money for cleaning service. I asked the cleaning company for the invoice for this service, they did not send it. We also left an extension cord, a clothes drying rack and a few items for the next tenant, and I was charged 150 pounds to remove them from the house, I do not find these actions fair at all. Treacherous Practices of Frost Lettings Amersham

Severely negative experience with Frost Lettings in Amersham. I’ve seen a property in Amersham town centre and made a competitive offer. The letting agent Karen said she would get back to me the following day but she didn’t. Four days later I enquired whether my offer was submitted to the landlord to which she replied saying the property had already been let to someone else and that she had concerns that I was not be able to pay the rent. I was really surprised to hear this considering that we discussed during the viewing that I’m currently paying the same amount of rent that I offered for the property advertised by Frost, that my bank statements could prove that, I had significant savings accounts and that I could even pay the rent six months in advance. All of this should have been clear indication that I was able to pay the rent I offered. Karen rejected my offer before I could prove with documents that I was actually able to pay the rent I offered. To make things worse she then asked me whether I wanted to see a property that was £425 more expensive than the one she had concerns with regards to my ability to pay the rent for. So if she was so skeptical that I would not be able to pay the rent why did she ask me to see a property whose rent was £425 higher than the one I initially made the offer for?! This makes me believe that my offer was never even shown to the landlord and that she simply gave the property to an acquaintance of hers who made an offer that was lower than mine. I consider Karen’s behaviour to be unprofessional and dishonest both towards me as a potential tenant for denying me the flat although my offer was the highest and towards the landlord for depriving them of a rent that was several hundred pounds higher than the one they accepted.

Very bad experience with the staff!!Paid a holding deposit to hold a property.. two days after I was told it was taken by someone else.Mentioning no name i was shown other properties as the company had my holding deposit yet again the property was let to someone else.Been nearly two week since I paid my holding deposit. Company was quick to ask for deposit and no response till i contact them for an update.Refund has been issued still waiting for it.I have had to take time out of work to view properties why would an estate agent show me properties when they are already off the market?No communication withing the staff. I have to chase all the timeI would say its a waste of time dealing with company like this!!

Letter beware!

We were model tenants- our first visit after 3 months of a 12 month tenancy and our report was “exceedingly clean”. Before we moved in we asked if we could hang a picture and requested that the landlord to leave the same paint so we could restore to the same. Upon check out the check our clerk said this was the easiest check out as everything was in order. There were a couple of things that were mention but was advised that it “would be harsh” if we were charged. We received the report and the Frost comments were rude and untrue. We replied giving logical explanations to the points raised. After an exceedingly poor response - “no response” we escalated to the Head of Lettings. After numerous conversations he said “it’s very rare for anyone to get their full deposit back!” So letters beware you will not get your full deposit back. We were only charged £40 but it’s the principal. The £40 was £5 for the filled hole and we used the paint the landlord left and the colour had changed every so slightly. We reported two identical round marks in the ceiling from the flat above and was advised to monitor, we were charged £15 for this. There was a chip on the floor in a bathroom which was caused by a contractor when the belly pan was removed from the sink following an issue with the sink and was charged £10 and finally there was a dent in the side of the bath which we never even saw and again charged £10. None of the charges made any sense and feel the landlord never even saw this report and yet this money was to be withheld. As a good Will gesture the fee was reduced to £20. If these were real charges and this “damage” was an issue surely it would be more to cover the cost of repairs? The whole thing was a total shambles. Finally last week Frost called us to ask if we could provide them with information on the TV provider. Yes of course for £20! Beware! Take photos of everything and send email confirmations to protect yourselves.

Had EE call asking to switch said easy plug in asked for engineer to install been with out TV or WiFi after 4 calls engineer came out said we not wired up by open reach so now got wait till Fri did not say nothing at door I've just come out hospital with stroke spent hrs trying connect think is disgusting would not recommend EE or BT my wife been charged 41 pound for leaving so no TV or WiFi for week we both work NHS wouldn't never use or listen to there story's stay with who your with to much trouble written to obman not good enough why not make sure u can use 4 different customer services said different stuff my view do not go with EE bt is useless

Alex, Jamie and Jeremy at the Frost Partnership Ashford were amazing throughout the whole process of selling my fathers house, which took many more months than expected. The initial valuation was carried out by Alex, who has an excellent knowledge of the area, and the subsequent marketing material was of a high standard. After securing a buyer the next few months were fraught with problems which Jamie, Jeremy and the team made far more bearable by keeping me up to date without me having to chase them. The final month of trying to complete the sale was extremely stressful but I felt at all times that the team were trying their absolute best to get me to completion. I'd like to thank them all very much for the wonderful service I received and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

No response to emails - out of business?

I can only assume they are out of business. No response after several emails to various aliases including their director of lettings directly. They registered my tenants deposit despite the fact I only wanted them to find the tenant - I complained about this at the time. Now, at the end of the tenancy, they are not responding to a request for information on how to return it. I was going to sell the property through them but if they aren't in business anymore then I'll need to look elsewhere.

A mixed experience, we first dealt with Danielle who seemed lovely but would never call us back, never pass on any messages and never answer any questions that we asked. We had to wait days for her to even reply with an answer to if our offer was accepted or not. Even if you couldn't get hold of them, at least give us a call to let us know rather than leaving us in the dark all the time. We were very fed up with this service after a couple of weeks and gave up asking questions and just assumed the worst otherwise we would have got nowhere. Thank god Andrew Holdsworth took over as he would proactively chase the whole process and was nothing but nice and helpful for us. He would keep us updated and was very professional at all times. We recently sold our house (Morten Wood) in Amersham with Frost. I was impressed at the start of the process with the speed in which the details of the house were ready to go to market. However when the viewings started it was a bit harder than I had expected to get feedback on how the viewings had gone. Most of the time we had to do the chasing for that. Having said that, once the house was sold and our chain was in place, I honestly believe the only thing that held it together was Andrew Holdsworth at Frost. He did a superb job of finding information from all parties in the chain way before any other agent had. His local knowledge and relationship with clients and other agents around Amersham was second to none. He did a great job. I would use Frost in Amersham again.

Having recently purchased a property in Amersham through The Frost Partnership, I am significantly indebted to Andrew Holdsworth, their agent acting on behalf of our vendor. It seems axiomatic to state that he was professional for, in my opinion, he went beyond the usual requirement for one in his role. At all times Andrew was diligent, knowledgeable, flexible, compassionate and innovative in what proved to be a purchase that could very easily have succumbed to the vagaries unique to our particular circumstances. Whilst we were not his clients directly he provided significant guidance and dealt with unforeseen complexities with grace and good humour.
