We contacted brown & merry through there wendover branch based in buckinghamshire. They arranged a viewing very polite and knowledgeable lady. Property was lovely just what we wanted. Then they informed us it was being sold through an auction by Iam sold.This is where the problems started. Having never purchased a property by auction before they put me in contact with iam sold who agreed a price with the seller I then put down a non refundable deposit which was a massive mistake. Unfortunately the sale could not be completed because of problems with the lease and we lost our deposit. I must add I done all my research and had a mortgage agreed in principle. So although it’s not all brown & meets fault. They should not deal with this dodgy auction company and any who gets advice to by property through an auction site please take my advice and go through normal channels.

Be careful with this agency…the agents are asking for part of deposit to “check your references “and they will tell you that you don’t pass and you will lose the money .They don’t provide you with information about the rejection which I find normal to have because you pay for them.Agent name that I deal is Eliot…very kind but also very sharp when you ask about explanations If they do like that with 10 people per week this deposit are money in the pocket If anyone have the same experience don’t hesitate to share it.This is Hemel Hampstead branch

Over valued and little contact.So much contact to get us to sell with them, as soon as we listed the house with them I received loads of marketing calls trying to get us to upgrade the marketing package. They encouraged us often to drop the price they valued it at. I really believe they give you a great listing price but then always encourage clients to reduce. If you look on rightmove you’ll see lots of there listings reduced. Sarah branch manger French promised calls back but never did. Alex was the only person in branch that was helpful. I also went with the solicited they recommended and they were also awful, slow and never communicated with us.

GoogleFinally have completed the sale of my property in Chesham. It was a roller coaster of almost there, but this year was the year obviously. Charmaine has been superb in steering things along the way and it has been a supportive and superbly helpful throughout the process, a great communicator and always available or would call straight back. This sale took 12 weeks to the day almost from offer to completion (could have been 8 but you know... Solicitors...) and I am very pleased to be able to tie the ends up and move forward. Thanks to Perry, Anita and Charmaine with the support of the rest of the office. Highly recommended if you are thinking of selling!

GoogleI could not recommend James Gibson enough! What an outstanding mortgage advisor he has been! He is a Godsend who was tactfully recommended by Charmaine at a time when my husband and I were suffering from mortgage broker fatigue! Our application turned out to be more complex and drawn- out than we expected. However, James’ patience, determination, expertise, professionalism and ever so positive attitude were instrumental in us obtaining a great mortgage offer. After this major achievement, James went above and beyond his duty by liaising with the seller’s estate agent, solicitors and the mortgage provider in what was still a very stressful process for us. I can say without exaggeration that his kind involvement and support helped to bring the purchase of our first home to completion. We owe him a great deal and are so pleased to know that we will be able to rely on him in the future. Thank you James and Charmaine! Well done to the team at the Chesham Branch.

GoogleI have recently purchased a property marketed by Brown & Merry. The experience was quite phenomenal. Though appointed by the seller, I felt like the team were acting on my behalf and were quite supportive throughout. Perry, Chris & James were super efficient and kept me well updated of the status, from time to time. They were always available on phone and quick to react in case of any issues/impediments. On the day of completion, Perry went the extra mile(literally) to handover the keys personally at my residence as the Chesham branch was quite far from where I live. I will definitely consider Brown & Merry, Chesham branch in particular for any future transactions of mine and also recommend them to anyone considering estate agents.

GoogleBrown and Merry showed me a number of properties to rent in Chesham. I found both Shaoib and Zak very helpful. When I finally settled on the one I've just taken, Zak completed the transaction very quickly and efficiently. From having my offer accepted through getting approval and to getting the keys, took less than a week. The staff in the office are enthusiastic and well-presented. Thoroughly recommended!

GoogleI’m currently selling my house with another agent and have had this appalling letter through my door from this estate agent. Apart from anything else, the grammar is awful, which makes them appear even more unprofessional. Not only will we not sell through them but we won’t buy from them either. Avoid at all costs if you want to deal with professionals.

I asked for an evaluation.. this was fine.. no problems.. but I chose a different agent and now 4 months later they still regularly phone me up, once even saying "hello , this is your estate agent".. errr NO... they are abusing the fact that I gave them my number and now I cannot get rid of them.. Wish I had never done so. I am now apart of their ' any phone call is work' policy. B&M are owned by connels and the BBC has a page about their dubious sales tactics. They have a tv show about it also.

GoogleWe used Brown & Merry's mortgage broker Apurva Patel from the onset of looking for a house, even though we viewed houses from different estate agents in the Chesham area. His explanations, recommendations and advice were thorough and highly relevant throughout the process. We ended up finding a house through a different company and Mr Patel remained focused on getting the work done timely and professionally. We would highly recommend him as a mortgage broker.
