Booking with Tayla

I went to view a property with my family. I had previously spoken to the agent Tayla and provided my details. At the property, we filled in the form to put an offer on the property. Everything seemed to go well! The following afternoon I received a missed call and voicemail from Tayla asking to confirm if we would like to go ahead with an offer. Having that I missed the call, I replied via email confirming the offer and I will be in touch the following day Friday. Come Friday, I called 7 mins after opening hours and advised the agent is on the phone and left my message once again confirming my offer. I called again, she’s on the phone. Called again in the afternoon as I haven’t received a call back nor acknowledgement of my email. To call this time for the gentleman to insensitively tell me they’ve let the property to someone else….. As a women of colour, this is very concerning to be have your offer accepted and unknowingly taken back with no communication. Taking into Considering how they’ve handled the matter, I would not recommend their services or agent.

Having bought and sold many houses I have never received such inept, incompetent and just totally woeful service as provided to me by the Stony Stratford branch of Brown and Merry. They failed to manage my sale, communication was spectacularly awful, were in a total state of confusion and consistently failed to honour commitments. Upon signing up with them they performed a mail drop of the 'successful sale' of my property in the local area - without my consent. They sent me viewing appointments for houses elsewhere. They promised to call and didn't. They failed to return my keys despite numerous requests. All in all totally and completely amateurs. Final insult? Once my chain had broken down they dropped a business card through my door with the message "we'd love to sell your house" !! Please - trust me and avoid this company completely.

After 8 weeks of repeatedly calling/emailing letting agencies & rarely getting a response, I was giving up hope of finding a home. Then I saw a house with Brown & Merry, I left a voicemail/emailed over the weekend & was prepared to chase them as I have had to do with other agencies, but Charlie called me early Monday morning, listened to my situation & assured me they could help. Soon after I received a call from Alex who was equally as helpful & friendly, she assured me of a call back after speaking to the landlord. Shortly after, Charlie called me with the good news that I have the house & I was over the moon! After weeks of speaking to bored sounding letting agents, these guys were great & it was a huge relief! I don't normally do reviews but felt that people should be aware that the Hemel Hempstead branch are possibly the worst estate agents I have ever come across little contact rude and didn't tell me the truth on several matters I sat in on several viewings and they didn't have a clue how to sell a property avoid at all cost!!!.
