C P Walker & Son provided great service in helping us find our first property to rent as students. They answered all of our questions regarding the property in a timely manner to help us fully understand what we were agreeing to. I particularly found Samana Syed to be helpful as when she showed us around the property she made sure to double check anything that seemed amiss or any responses she gave us to ensure we were given the correct information and when I had a query for the landlord she conveyed this to them well and made sure I was listened to which helped us to come to an agreement in which both parties were happy. I would definitely recommend C P Walker & Son as a letting agent, especially to any other first year students looking for their first rental.

I have really enjoyed how professional yet friendly I have been treated through my tenancy application. I'd like say say a thankyou to Josh Dobbins a staff member at CP Walker. He shows up for house visits to check the property, its always nice to see him he makes conversation as he walks round. He listens to jobs that need fixing and writes them down to make sure their filed and gives great advice about renting.

Really good agency. I’ve never had much reason to call, twice in five years I think, and everything was sectioned very quickly when I did. For example the bathroom needed replacing, called Kirsty at CP Walker, and within a week she had booked quotes. Within a month I had a new bathroom. Just a good agency that acts quickly when required.

Extremely lenghty application process they have for just applying. The most important checks such as right to rent are/will be done later post selection of a tenant by the landlord. This is absolute nonsense. So much personal data and documents they need at just application process that I feel so vulnerable. It is sad to see how just like that agencies feel obliged to ask a lot of personal details just to express interest in the property. Wouldn't recommend. I am put off by the initial process itself.

UPDATE: after almost 6 months the TDS has refunded the majority of my deposit (except for £30 I’ve agreed to for moving one bag of rubbish 4 ft into a bin). If you want to be treated like a child and a liar, rent with CP Walker, otherwise I’d advise you to look elsewhere Avoid as a tenant. Entitled, invasive and unscrupulous. Despite insisting on consistent, invasive, badly communicated inspections throughout our tenancy (which is in line with the contract but not in line with normal expectations when you are handing someone half your salary a month) which based on the report seemed to consist of taking photos of our property, and not the fixtures and fittings of the house, and following me paying for cleaning and carpet cleaning throughout the house, they deducted £230, unevidenced, from my deposit and claimed I invented invoices, and at 27 days after the end of tenancy have still not returned the undisputed amount. All this in addition to raising our rent by 11% after just 18 months. Have never been more badly treated by a letting agency Update: now 6 weeks after my tenancy has ended. I have raised a dispute through the tenancy deposit scheme and they can’t even follow that process (received confirmation from TDS that they have resolved the case, and then C P Walker have emailed days after the funds were to be returned to claim they haven’t been contacted by TDS). Their response below says nothing that wasn’t said in my original review and refutes nothing. They claim they need to contact the cleaners but had to carry out cleaning - so they are either charging me for cleaning that didn’t happen or would have charged me either way
