I’ve never known an estate agent with more obstructive policies. We viewed a property and wanted to make a prompt offer on it. We had been liaising with a woman leading up to the viewing so called her to put the offer in. We were told that it’s “policy” that only the director of the branch can handle offers (?!) so he would be passed details of the offer and call us the following day. The director did not call back the following day (later found out he was off sick - fair enough but highlights how ridiculous their policy on offers is) so 2 days after the viewing, we received a call from the director to take details of our offer and he told us he would inform the vendor and get back to us. We did hear back a few hours later that the offer wasn’t accepted so we upped our offer and the director assured me he was working the next day (Sat) and he would call me. I text and called on the Saturday and heard nothing back. Buying a house is a very emotive time, I understand that the housing market is so busy at the moment and I’ve no doubt the director was incredibly busy but not being able to get through to him and constantly be the one doing all the chasing was not a very nice feeling. I was incredibly anxious about the outcome of the offer and felt that even if the vendor had not been in touch, Brand Vaughn could have called or text to put me at ease or update me on the state of play. I appreciate the vendor could have been difficult or unresponsive but it would have been nice for BV to articulate that to me - each time we upped our offer we had to wait 24 hours for the next call and it ended up being an incredibly anxious few days where I made far more calls to them than they did to me. I got the impression they were sick of me calling. This poor director must be run off his feet having to be the only person handling offers - and it must be so restricting for the other staff members - i’ve never seen anything like it. Would be very cautious about interacting with them in the future. Levels of customer service are not great and the policies are outdated. Give your staff autonomy to handle offers and it might result in less negative reviews and a less frazzled director.NegativeResponsiveness

After hearing good things about Brand Vaughan (Preston Park) my partner and I chose them to sell our property last summer. And then subsequently bought property they were listing. I can honestly say they were brilliant from start to finish. David valued our property and it was clear the valuation was made using a good deal of knowledge an research. Consequently the sale price we achieved was spot on! I liked the fact that Brand Vaughan staff have clearly defined roles within the process as it makes the whole journey run more smoothly. From the valuation to the EPC, photography to the viewings, it was all done with swiftly and professionally. Communication was excellent and viewings were conducted superbly well by Lisa! Once the sale was agreed. Phil provided great feedback and assurance. Louise then took over and she was absolutely brilliant! Again communication was first class and I could always reach her on the phone or via email. She dealt with all enquiries quickly and took a lot of the stress out of situations. She was very proactive and is clearly an expert it what she does. I would not hesitate to use Brand Vaughan again...although for the time being we are staying put and enjoying our new home!PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

I am a landlord renting out my flat for the first time. I chose Brand Vaughan as Mollie seemed very nice and valued it the highest of all the agents I had round. A morning of viewings was quickly booked in and they found a tenant for the full asking price straight away. I’ve used brand Vaughn for 10 years now on a few of my rentals and the service is always professional. Great communication about potential tenants and their situations, always great tenants with no issues and a smooth, reasonable transaction. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I never feel intimidated if I have a question to ask about a particular tenant that may concern me or general finance query. Disappointing customer service

In my recent research for a house in Brighton, I noticed that this agency offered many options, especially for students so I sent them an email, and later on, I got a call from Abby. I said to her that I would call her back in a short while because I needed to talk something through with my partner. I called multiple times and another woman answered, which sounded quite bored and didn't bother to help me through after I asked about the properties that they are offering. She said that Abby would call me back and I haven't heard from them since. I only received a promotional email of a random property by someone named Mollie, to which I replied asking for information and for properties meeting my standards and still so answer. Very disappointing customer service.

Unfit to operate in their sector.

This agency is utterly useless, bordering on negligent. I have had zero heating in my rented flat for 4 years, coupled with a serious damp and mould issue. The windows are rotten to the extent there is no sealant and you can literally put your finger through the gaps in the corners. I have reported this time and time again with photos and videos and have been met with complete apathy every time. The last year working from home in this flat has been unbearable. I have had various tradespeople agree it is dangerous and hazardous to health yet never had a single visit from Brand Vaughn. Until i submitted my notice to move out last month that is. Since then I have had various emails phone calls and visits, purely to ensure they can rerent the property to the next unsuspecting sucker. The bottom line is they care about nothing but the bottom line and have zero regard for your health and safety.

My experience with Brand and Vaughan was excellent They sold our flat for us and the majority of the dealings were done during lockdown We also bought a house through them and we were in a chain of at least 5 other properties The absolute star of the show was Loiuse Ayshford at B and V She was amazing and totally professional and did so much work behind the scenes . Her communication with me was fantastic she was always there to reassure and worked so hard to maintain good relations between all the parties involved. In my opinion she has the hardest job of all as she deals with the actual nitty gritty of the sale not the jolly bit of showing people round . We were the first viewing on a house being sold by Brand Vaughan in July 2020. We offered asking price during the viewing to the owner and put it in writing to Brand Vaughan immediately afterwards. The agent (Phil), seemed to work very hard to not help our offer go through. So much so I had to ask him not to talk to me and deal with my husband as he was so patronising and frankly, not at all business-minded. We ended up having to send flowers to the owners and deal with them directly through the entire process (the owners were wonderful!). Then during the sale process, we received zero help/interest (even when asked). When we got keys, I was told to go to the estate agent office to pick them up (we expected the agent to meet us at the house and give us keys). Then the keys we eventually received were the wrong set (given by the previous owners, but perhaps someone could have checked they worked). We were then asked to post a review on Google about how great the experience had been. I was honest and summarised (politely) the above feedback. The lady said 'oh, well please don't post then' and left. Today we received another request via email to post a review, so this time, I'm posting. I'm a true believer that people make mistakes, and if you give tough feedback, I would expect a follow up to that. Since moving here we've met so many other wonderful people (and estate agents). I'd strongly encourage anyone looking to sell their home to consider alternatives, as the buyer experience for us was 'sub-par' to say the least...!NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

I was a purchaser of a property being sold by Brand Vaughan. Their office were regular in their contacts to me, by a person who had not read the sales particulars and was unaware of the piles of rubbish in the house. Which created cross purpose conversations. Quite funny! Nevertheless you can't fault the effort and hard work for their client. It was not mentioned in the sales particulars that the house was in a conservation area so it was a surprise to the vendor and me. Overall the staff were polite and friendly and tried hard to close the sale with diligence and persistance and you need that ability.PositiveProfessionalism
