Stephanie Pullen, the Senior Lettings Manager at Hove, has been very proactive, both in contacting me initially and throughout the process of finding us the tenants. Despite the property already being marketed by another agency, I agreed that Stephanie could market it too. She really has excellent persuasion and influencing skills. The property was advertised on the very day of my instruction, very quick and efficient. I was very pleased when true to her word, she found me a tenant within the first few viewings, within a day of the property being marketed. When there was an issue with the initial agreed tenancy, she found us another tenant within a day of the property re-marketed. She let me know of the fee at the onset and there were no nasty surprises. She did everything she could to liaise with me and satisfy all my requirements including certain changes to some of the documentation requested, which resulted in a lot of back and forth with her internal teams. She also ensure that I was paid the correct amount and chased the team to ensure this happened. Overall I am very pleased with the service provided by Stephanie and I would be very happy to use her services again. I highly recommend her.

Josh and Jayden provided an exceptional service during the purchase of our new flat. Their patience, wealth of information, and constant support eased what could have been a stressful process. Their professionalism, combined with their friendly manner, made working with them a pleasure. This agency happily rents furnished student accommodation and misrepresents properties on it's website. Specifically, advertising a property with a furnished double room to my son and charging accordingly. On discovering the room in fact had a single bed their response to him was it could in theory fit a double bed if he wanted to buy one. Perhaps he could put it in, somehow store the landlord's bed for the duration of the tenancy, take the double bed with him when he left etc. This is both deliberate misrepresentation and exploitation of students. Steer clear and don't trust anything they say.

Utter Disappointment

I stopped using King & Chasemore about 10 years ago, my property came up for rent again recently. I gave clear reasons why I stopped using them and they assured me they'd improved greatly, definitely NOT the case, nothing has changed in that time. My experience was impressive while they were chasing me to sign up and completely lacklustre afterwards, I’m completely annoyed with myself for trying them again, I was right in the first place. Complete lack of communication, one market report on the first week, nothing since. I had to chase them for feedback after viewings, said booked viewings that didn’t happen, 3 weeks without so much as a phone call.

Robbed us of our holding deposit. We were asked questions upon viewing the property such as are you in employment, what is your job etc and we answered truthfully. They encouraged us to put the holding deposit down immediately so we did but we were rejected due to me having to leave my job a few weeks later - they never asked about how long I foresee me being in the job. We offered 6 months rent in advance but then they asked for a year in advance payment, £16000+! They said they would keep the holding deposit and we disputed this. Report claimed that I did not advise them prior, that I was moving from full time employment to being a student at the start of the proposed tenancy. I was not made aware that this information was required, I was simply asked at the viewing "are you in employment?". At the time of the viewing I was in full time employment, I was not at any point asked what my future plans would be and whether I was to remain in that job and for how long. I should come to you and tell you that I am employed or not employed and you don't need to ask me any questions when clearly that is not how the agents at King and Chasemore handled the interest in the property - they asked prepared questions. Apparently I failed to declare important information when it is clear that the agents failed to ask important questions. I was not privy to their processes and requirements, prior to placing my holding deposit and completing referencing, whereas the agents knew in advance the information required. I don't believe it is fair to put the blame on me when the customer cannot be expected to predict what information you need and provide it all when viewing the property. I was truthful throughout my communication with them and the referencing company. I was not even expecting to leave my job so soon but, still, I had nothing to hide and provided my employer reference. "I wanted to make it clear that Zaid had not tried to hide this - even when I flagged what I intended to put on the reference and that it could cause an issue with his application." Stay away from these people if you don't want them stealing from you.
