Excellent from start to finish

My "move manager" was fantastic from beginning to end. Her communication was brilliant and was nearly always able to get things moving between both sets of solicitors when they seemed incapable of talking to each other. She was a brilliant go-between and always kept me up to date with what was happening, even if it was to let me know that things were taking a few days. This was my first house purchase and it was made so much easier, smoother and stress-free as a result of the excellent service.

Proactive, helpful and courteous!

As a busy landlord, I turned to Leaders of St Albans a few years ago. They took the time to understand my needs and found me excellent tenants very quickly. At the end of their tenancy, Leaders were very helpful - they liaised with all parties for a smooth departure before finding me new tenants proactively, thus avoiding a vacant period. The branch staff, led by David Underwood, are all courteous, professional, and friendly. I would highly recommend them for all your letting needs, either as a landlord or tenant

Let down completely

I saw a flat I liked and called up the office. I made some simple enquires over the phone (what floor is it and is it a waterside view), but the staff didn't know. That information should have been on rightmove anyway but wasn't. made an appointment to view an apartment in Manchester with Leaders and had to take time off work to go. Running late I called up the head office and told them I'd be 5 minutes late. They said they would pass on a message to the staff locally. When I arrived no one was there to greet me. I waited 20 minutes and called the office back, no response. The head office were not much better as they were so far away. After trying multiple times to get back in touch I got no response. I left an hour later. I called up the company to complain and spoke to a chap who apologised profusely, but kept making excuses about staff turnover etc. I asked for him to send me an email of written apology, but he never did. I asked them to get back in touch to reschedule, they never did. Appalling experience, from start to finish.

Thorough, professional and efficient service

I was referred to Leaders through a friend and even though they were not the most local estate agent, they did a great job of marketing my place. I found their staff to be welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic, and most importantly they were really thorough with everything. Compared to the other estate agents I spoke to, Leaders were the least pushy and 'salesy' of the lot, and I found them to be very down-to-earth. They also sourced a tenant for me quicker than expected, so I'm really happy with the service I got.

Hoole and Chester Office

Having been a tenant within one of the properties Leaders inherited I have only really dealt with them in the final parts of my tenancy. That said, they have always been excellent in communication, come back to me quickly with queries and always been courteous to my needs.As a landlord myself I'm always dubious about the way estate agents conduct themselves and I really cannot fault the professionalism of both the Chester offices. I doubt very much I will need to use their services again, but if I ever needed an estate agent in Chester I couldn't think of anyone else I'd want to handle my business!Thanks again!Westminster Road, Hoole

My interaction with Leaders Estate Agents in Nottingham

I recently contacted Leaders with a series of questions about a property in Carlton, Nottingham. I was very impressed. I got immediate, and very helpful answers from Tayo Harrington, one of Leaders agents. When I asked to view the property, an appointment was made in a heartbeat! Unfortunately an illness in the family has meant that I have to postpone my plans to move. However, in a couple of months, hopefully, I will be back out there looking and I would definitely like to deal with Leaders.They were so caring when I had to apologise for not pursuing my planned offer,Very good service indeed :-)I really did appreciate their honesty and how responsive they were.I have been fudged by so many Estate Agents, it was refreshing to get real answers and real information.I would recommend Leaders to anyone looking for an Estate Agent who really is an honest broker.My interaction with them made me believe that they have their Seller's interest at heart as well as their motive to get a buyer on the hook.This is the kind of estate Agent I think we all need.

Fantastic Service!

Have been in Rental accommodation with Leaders for just over 6 years now. First time I have rented but we struck it lucky with Leaders. Can't fault them at all. Never any issues. If we need something doing it's done fast and efficiently. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Having heard the horror stories from friends who are with other letting agents that have to fight tooth and nail to get anything done, if I ever moved Leaders would be first choice to deal with again!!!

The whole company is a shambles

The whole company is a complete shambles. I do not recommend anyone is to rent with this company. When it came to my rental checkout, I found the company to be dishonest and unfair on the tenant.After leaving, there was a significantly large unwarranted cleaning bill, by a company that Leaders did not recommend in their check out pack.After 6 weeks of adjudication with TDS(Tenancy Depositary Scheme) I have finally today got a large sum of my disputed money back, which I am over the moon about.Thankyou so much TDS, and no thankyou to Leaders.

Incompetents

Please if you are clever enough dont even bother to come into their office in Manchester. These are the worst people I ever met. They break the law and they ignore tenants. They only want your money. I thought they were keeping my deposit but I placed a court money claim and after 3 months they were forced to pay the money I claim plus process cost (that made me feel happy). When I entered the house I was forced to make an unnecessary use of electricity to warp ip the house as the agency never fixed a window which was not sealed properly, I couldn't sleep well because of the noise and cold coming into the bedroom, but they did nothing.

Disgusting behaviour

Please, please, please, if you are thinking of even going anywhere near these scamming Cowboys with your money, or your properties, I suggest you go elsewhere!The staff are negligent, and cannot be bothered. They're only interested in taking all of your money.The managers are constantly arguing down the phone, don't bother greeting you when you walk into the office, or they're outside taking personal calls, or flirting with other colleagues.In my eyes, this is despicable behaviour, and is meant to be a professional environment! I don't think it's professional if no one wants to look at you when you walk in the door! You get shunted from one office to another as they can't be bothered to deal with you. And then you try and call to get through only to be fobbed off numerous amounts of times anyway! I do not condone this type of behaviour in any standard, shape or form, and think it's outrageous that they're being allowed to work this way. I would sack the lot of them, especially the managers as they're the biggest joke going!!!!

Leaders London Road - Dangerously incompetent

Having used them for almost 3 years, they managed to fail at every hurdle in frankly dangerous ways. When I initially walked into their office to sign the contract for a new property, the first warning sign was when one of the "agents" was involved in a screaming match on the phone, insisting that they were not a rag-tag outfit of cowboys. The following few hours convinced me that the mystery caller was right. I was due to move into the property on Friday, but was told that afternoon that the references hadn't been chased up, meaning that I would have to wait until the following Monday before moving into the property. This would have resulted in me being made homeless for a weekend, with the removal firm I had hired having to put the furniture into storage at my own expense. The management of the office treated the situation as if it was an interesting puzzle and not once acknowledged their staggering failure to have the paperwork completed on time, and never apologised for the situation. Only due to me doing their job for them and chasing up the references, something I had repeatedly reminded leaders to do in the days leading up to the move, was I able to get the keys to the property at 4:50pm, 10 minutes away from the deadline. To my dismay, this was not the only pathetic show of incompetence I had to suffer through with Leaders. On a change of housemate, I and the new housemate had been told several times over a course of 3 months, in writing and on the phone, that the deposit transfer between the existing and new tenant would be dealt with privately. The evening before the date of the new contract being signed and tenant moving in, Leaders decided to change their mind, which again very nearly made the entire contract fall through, and another person homeless, due to the immediate asking of hundreds of pounds. With regard to any fault in the property, none of the problems were dealt with in a speedy manner, with a washing machine taking just over two weeks to be replaced. To highlight their attention to detail, the inventory had the names of the previous tenants on, with the gas and electricity suppliers being the well-known company "?".Avoid at all costs - their incompetence is dangerous.

Avoid at all costs.

Having been a tenant with leaders for 12 months, it's been a refreshing experience that they lost the contract to manage the property we live in. Lucky really considering the new agent has done more maintenance in the last few weeks than leaders did in 12 months.Our security gate, which was highlighted as a feature for the property has only worked for a matter of weeks and leaders have been unable to resolve.After having a plumbing leak, which was there before we moved in but had been painted over rather than fixed had been resolved a few months after moving in. 12 months later, we still have a hole in the plaster ceiling above our cooker. Absolutely no effort to resolve and then months after thinking we were free of this appalling company, we get a bill for work they haven't completed. Managers are rude and staff are clueless. Will never use leaders again for as long as I live.

Leaders - great service, friendly and honest people

I'v been renting for last couple of years in many places and have both 'good' and 'bad' experience with varies letting agencies. Leaders (previously JSM) is on top of my 'good' list. In comparison to few other agencies (especially those near London) they don't rip you off without apparent reason. They would act honestly and respond quickly. They are not picky. Agents are friendly and helpful. I can sincerely recommend this agency. I will use their service again if I have opportunity.Iwona

We have been using Leaders Woking for as long as we can remember. During this time we have been living in various places around the world for work reasons and now live in Italy. Great Agency - best we've come across!

Very friendly and helpful service for the viewing! We were greeted by 3 representatives, one of whom took us into the property and gave a guided tour (which was great as many agencies leave you to it!), answering all of our questions along the way. After we were provided with a bag with all the property details - a lovely touch- and a representative discussed the property with us, all of whom were very knowledgeable about the property! We then headed over to the office, and everyone there was very helpful too. Great service overall - if we ever deal with an agency again, we hope its Leaders!!
