Awful morals and ethics avoid at all costs! We have previously experienced awful moral practises after placing best and final bids on a property. A week later after we won the final bid on a property. Seymour’s called back to advise competing offer had since offered over our asking price! HOW is this ethical?? I

Hi Sophie, we can see how frustrating this experience must have been. To clarify our process: we use “best and final” offers to try to create a fair framework for all interested buyers and the seller. However, we are legally required to submit every offer in writing to the seller, right up until exchange of contracts (unless the seller has given us written instructions to the contrary). Ultimately, the seller makes the final decision, not us. It’s their home and their choice. That means if a higher offer is received after a final deadline, we are obligated to pass it on and the seller can choose how to proceed. We appreciate this can be disappointing, and we’re sorry if our communication didn’t make these legal obligations and the implications of final offers clear enough. We’re reviewing how we set expectations.

GoogleThe task of selling my parents home after my father died was a daunting one. I chose Seymour’s because they were local but also because of the personal care they gave. The support throughout was was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and the help and advice I received throughout the process was really appreciated. The sale went smoothly and completed quickly. Communication could have been better. There were a number of issues throughout the course of the sale which could have been handled more professionally. They did eventually get the sale over the line but it was all somewhat last minute and stressful.

GoogleI was initially recommended to James Sharpin by a friend. After our first meeting, I could tell James was a personable, genuine guy and passionate about his work. We sold our property the first week it went on the market to cash buyers ! James & his team were efficient, helpful and professional throughout the whole process and always on hand for advice. I cannot recommend 'Seymours Blackwater' highly enough if you are thinking of putting your house on the market.

Selling your house is a daunting prospect. That said, Seymours was the first choice to guide us through the process.I met Simon who came across as friendly and really knowledgeable about the local market with many years of experience in this field. The sales guide price was pretty much as expected. The pictures were taken a few days later by Mark who made a great job of the brochure. The whole team at the office were on board with the marketing of the house and, to my surprise, 7 visits were arranged within the first full week. The communication from the office was amazing. Emails arrived detailing every visit booked and there were regular calls with feedback and updates from the office. Overall a great service was provided by the whole team. The house was under offer in no time. Again, the background work carried out at the office, was extremely thorough and they constantly updated us on the situation.Whilst the wait for completion goes on, the whole team could not have done more to help with the process of selling a house.With the service received so far, it's no wonder they are the leading agents in the area by far

GoogleExcellent service from start to finish. Harry and Aiden dealt with the purchase of my recent property. Providing frequent updates throughout the whole transaction and would help chase my solicitors for me. Wouldn’t have been able to complete the purchase without their help and will definitely be using their services again at some point in the future, would highly recommend to anyone selling or buying a property.

As far as I am concerned they should not get one star. The owner came and gave a verbal valuation of £310000 - £320,000. Due to certain circumstances he had to send this valuation to another party. This valuation he told me then increased to £362,500-£375000 in his letter to the other party.Once I was sent a copy of this letter I called this same person from Seymour’s Lightwater for an explanation and why he lied to me. Three times I called and guess what, I never had a call back. I would not recommend this company.

At no point was a lower valuation suggested to suit specific circumstances. We also provided a written valuation to the third party in question, which was in line with our professional assessment.Regarding your calls, as we’ve explained, we are unable to get involved further in this matter beyond the valuation we have already provided. If you are still unhappy with the valuation, we would recommend engaging a RICS-qualified surveyor for an independent assessment.We aim to provide transparency and fairness in all our dealings, and we regret that you feel this was not the case.

GoogleWe had been looking for a house to buy for more than 6 months having viewed more than 20 properties with no luck. When we met James we only viewed 2 properties and settled on the second one, he takes the time to understand customer needs and only comes back to you with whatever is very necessary to you. I found James to be very personable and professional in the way he handled price negotiations between the seller and ourselves. During the buying process which can be lengthy and stressful James kept us constantly updated and reassured. We also had a few interactions with other team members at Seymour's Blackwater and I have to say they are all very helpful and friendly. This is simply the best customer service I have ever been given.

GoogleI was buying my first home, didn’t know how stressful it will be. Thanks to Clare the whole process was much easier and so much faster. She literally looked after the entire chain, made sure all paperwork is completed and chased solicitors. Without her we would still be far behind. Sam from the Woking branch has been fantastic. Very knowledgeable and upfront and very attentive to your needs. He helped me find a great rental. Joanna from the Weybridge branch was a great agent to show the properties and explained everything very well. Joe the Lettings Director also was a pleasure to deal. Can’t say one bad word about this firm. Whole process was seamless so far.

We had an extremely disappointing experience with Seymours Walton-on-Thames. They are great at the sales pitch, but once you’ve signed up, the original team disappears and you’re handed over to a sales progressor, with little to no communication from the people you first dealt with. Our house move fell through on the original agreed completion date, and when we decided to change agents, their behaviour was shocking. Instead of acting professionally, they became passive-aggressive and harassed us with 13 calls in just one afternoon, begging us not to leave them. Even worse, they told one of their clients that our sale had fallen through and encouraged them to make an offer on the very property we were already under offer on. This was a huge breach of trust and completely unacceptable. Their customer service was appalling from start to finish, and I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before using Seymours Walton-on-Thames.
