TrustpilotFriendly, Professional, Efficient, Fantastic
The team at Seymours were able to find us a buyer (at asking price) very quickly after a few months with no luck under a different estate agent. Their sales and client relations team are all extremely professional and friendly and explain things in leyman's terms for those of us who have little knowledge of how property sales work! The team looked after us from start to finish and were friendly and approachable throughout, and also helped us to agree on a nice early exchange and completion for our sale. I would thoroughly recommend Seymours if you are looking to buy or sell your property.

TrustpilotHorrendous experience with Seymours!
Review of Seymours!Have had a bit of an ordeal trying to break a tenancy (that is allowed in our agreement subject to T's & C's). The noise in the property above our rental is affecting my work, sleep, mental health & wellbeing and comfort. In addition the hubbys been furloughed and we need to leave. Have been round and round in circles with a Seymours Property Manager asking for her to contact the Landlord to propose our exit. This is our right as a tenant and we asked early March for the Landlord to be contacted. After emailing twice this week we've been told that the Landlords been contacted and they've asked if we have spoken to our neighbours re. noise. We had to chase for the response, we have repeatedly told Seymours that we have spoken to the neighbours and nothing can be done re. noise due to the make of the building. We have had to repeat ourselves continuously and chase for a response. Update: in the last 24 hours communication has improved. Hubby has gone into the Surbiton office, they've been extremely helpful and have given us more context to the situation which is fantastic because we felt like we were being heard and things are moving in a positive direction. The response below from Seymours was also very prompt and detailed. I hope the good communication can continue.Further update July 2021Communication did not improve unfortunately. Continued to be extremely poor even after the reply to this post. We accepted a tenancy in another property and brought forward our moving date at SEYMOURS instruction as they'd told us they had a tenant needing to move into our property early. Then 7 days before our tenancy was meant to end we were told we'd need to cover the rent for another month as the tenant couldn't move when they'd advised. So we were having to pay rent twice now at SEYMOURS instruction even after informing them that my husband was furloughed. In addition they've returned part of our deposit and without our consent they've taken money from our deposit. Awful experience. Couldn't be less professional if they tried.I will avoid this company in the future and I recommend you let and purchase property elsewhere...

Dear Keri,I am sorry to hear that you have not had a great experience with Seymours Lettings and Management. I appreciate your feedback and please be assured that we do take your commitment to delivering top quality customer very seriously.I appreciate that noisy neighbours can be difficult to live with, however we have rented this flat for some time and did not had any complaints from the previous tenants so we were unaware there was an issue. I also understand that being furloughed is stressful and that you are looking to be released in light of your change in circumstance. I am sure that we can reach a mutually agreeable way forward between you and the Landlord but ultimately as agent we do not have the authority to give consent to allow you to terminate a tenancy that we are not party to. I apologise if our communication have not been up to scratch, I will certainly address this with the staff involved. I believe that you are now in regular communication with the team.I hope that we are able to find a way forward for you and your Landlord to allow this situation to be drawn to a close, please feel free to contact at the office directly or should you prefer, you can e-mail at helen@seymours-woking.co.ukKind regardsHelen BlowerAssociate Partner

TrustpilotAbout as bad as an estate agent could be.
Post my separation from my wife 5 years ago, I had to rent a property until I could get the deposit together for a house of my own. Despite being a professional, middle aged man with a 25 year career and a 6 figure salary, I have been treated like some kind of second class citizen by these people due to the fact I’ve been a tenant. I let two properties (both of which were unusual, but were let through seymours, so I had no choice). The first one I was told ‘not to tell the council about the property and I wouldn’t have to pay council tax as it was an annex’. Not only is this illegal, but on the day I moved in, THEY informed the council, meaning I had to pay the council tax anyway. The second property was a new build and had a fair few problems. All of these were reported to seymours, but I had one visit from someone to resolve these and that was it. When checkout came (when I finally bought a new house - NOT through seymours), the checkout was so in favour of the landlord that even minor marks on the wall (EXTREMELY minor!!) we’re pointed out as my responsibility, despite them being acceptable wear and tear due to a 2 year tenancy. They also included photos in the checkout which showed the property as having coats and general ‘stuff’ on the work surfaces despite the fact the house was totally empty when I left. These photos were of the checkout agents stuff, but gave the landlord the impression that I’d left rubbish in the house. Not the case. They also reported stuff like door handle decoration being loose around the handles, despite this being one of my complaints to them as these items hadn’t been fitted properly when I moved in. I’m currently fighting them to get my considerable deposit back, and on speaking to other agents and people who have dealt with them before, it seems they’re known for making it a fight to get your deposit back and really not giving a rats about tenants. I think they need to realise that when it comes to managed tenancies, it’s the tenants that actually pay them, and should stop taking advantage. I’m a very calm, nice guy, but due to the degree of frustration I’ve been through with seymours, I simply cannot even speak to their staff anymore without becoming frustrated and getting snappy. If that’s the result your business ethic has on someone like me, you need to realise just how badly you’re screwing things up. If I don’t get my deposit back within the next week, I’ll be raising a case in the small claims court against them. I’ve genuinely had enough of their crap.EDIT: In response to Seymour's reply below - it's the Woking lettings office.

TrustpilotCaring people
I've being dealing with the Seymours team in the Guildford office (I've dealt with other offices in the past as well) selling my elderly mothers property that I grew up in. The sale was obviously an emotional one as the home has been in the family for nearly 50 years! They weren't just a business, they were people who actually cared for our emotions. Fantastic all round and I couldn't be more appreciative - Thank you so very much.

TrustpilotDo not use Seymours, Worplesdon Road!
Do not use Seymours, Worplesdon Road! This is the advice (as I told the manager at the time) that I got from several people, but I failed to heed it because the current manager told me that the previous manager (with whom he'd worked) had now left the company. I said that I hoped that I'd have the sort of positive experience with them that would mean I could counter their poor reputation. How wrong was I! I had a horrible experience with these agents. When I instructed them the website showed four ex-staff members, but in fact there were only two members of staff throughout my time of advertising my property, in Oct and Nov 2020. No doubt they were over-loaded, but a nearby competitor also had only two members of staff, but at that time were handling three times the number of houses and maintained their good reputation. Seymours were inefficient, unreliable, inaccurate and not to be trusted. As an example of their many failures, during the increased risk and restrictions in Nov due to covid 19, and being in my sixties, I wanted viewings to be sensibly limited (I was doing my own viewings). My property has an unusual boundary at the front which puts off some buyers, so I instructed Seymours to ask anyone interested in viewing, and who was local, to do a drive-by first so that they could properly judge the unusual lay-out, after which a viewing could be booked. The following week Seymours failed to follow this instruction with the three potential viewers who made enquiries, so no viewings were arranged. I subsequently spoke to two of these three, after Seymours and I parted ways following this fiasco. One had never heard back from Seymours (even though I was specifically asking Seymours for contact to be made with them) and the other had a totally inaccurate scenario put to them by Seymours, which had annoyed them at the time. In getting hold of these people I spoke to two local small-time property developers. One said that Seymours were the worst agents in the area and the other said that if ever they were interested in buying a property and it was being sold by Seymours they sighed at the thought of having to deal with that agent and their inefficiencies. As mentioned by another reviewer, it was also clear (by something that the manager said) that they put great pressure on potential viewers to sign up with them, if they haven't yet got their property on the market. I told the manager that I disapproved of that practice.

Hi Lynn,Your feedback is very much appreciated. My name is Steve Darling and I am one of the Partners of the Seymour’s office on Worplesdon Road. I am sorry that you feel the team did not meet the service level that you required to sell your property. This is not the usual level of service I see from this team and it certainly does not match any other feedback we have had recently. Our new manager has made the office one of the best offices in the local area with lots of happy clients, so to hear this type of feedback is concerning and I would obviously like to get to the bottom of it. I will be speaking with my team on this issue and if you have anything further please feel free to contact me at the following email address. steve@seymours-worplesdon.co.ukThank you.

TrustpilotJoke for a letting agent
On moving ahead with our decision to rent a property through Seymours, time was of the essence. We found the back office support staff and process to be poor. Calls would go unanswered and promises of callbacks didn’t happen. Approaching a deadline to give notice or renew on our existing tenancy, we couldn’t rely on Seymours and therefore gave in. An appalling company to communicate with. I should have read Trustpilot reviews before going ahead. The negative reviews are absolutely correct.
