Previously wrote a 5 star great review for the Ocean team. However, after moving into the place (1.5 months later) we have been utterly disappointed. Many issues with the house were not fixed and followed up in a timely manner. Serious issues raised since day 3 are still pending in solution. Be warned! Please view properties super carefully to avoid unpleasant experiences like ours.

We have obtained quotes for the necessary work and forwarded them to the landlord. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to expedite a response, we are still waiting to receive their approval. We have followed up with them again today.In addition, we have arranged for a contractor to examine and propose solutions for the issues you more recently reported.We sincerely apologise on behalf of the landlord for the delay in authorising the required work. The agent who showed me the house and who i dealt with initially was lovely really helpful and engaging. I did not like or appreciate the high pressure tack ticks toward the end. I had no power to push things on any quicker, only to do what was asked of me when it was asked of me. This business of being told if i didn’t complete in a week then the vendor was going to pull out was completely ridiculous. I had no ability to change the speed of the purchase, if the vendor pulled out for the sake of a week or so then they would be back to square one, crazy! I have a mortgage i was told that i was worrying them they said that i had told them that i was a cash buyer which i did not. I was told that she was scared because i had a mortgage set up and i was not a cash buyer, in and of itself this kind of talk worries me. I think that these sort of high pressure tack ticks are very counter productive to the overall experience and leave a bad taste.

Thank you for taking the time to pass on your feedback, it is very much appreciated.In this instance the transaction took approximately 5 months in total to reach exchange of contracts, which is far longer than expected for a vacant, chain free property.Therefore the sellers were growing very frustrated with what they viewed as slow progress, this was with the solicitor acting for you rather than with yourself of course.They had asked us to convey to you that if an exchange wasn’t met by a certain time they would look to remarket the property, and would re-market at a higher asking price to reflect the changing market conditions. As you may have read recently, property has increased in value by in excess of 10% nationally and higher in the Bristol area in the last 12 months.With reference to high pressure tactics, I'm afraid we were only passing on the instructions of the seller who is our paying client and we are contractually bound.We are very sorry to learn of your disappointment with this aspect. If communications of the urgency to exchange so that you did not loose the property you wish to purchase felt unduly pressurized, that was the seriousness of the situation. Nonetheless, we sincerely hope that you enjoy living in your new home and wish you every happiness there.Assuring you of our best intentions at all times, Ocean.
