Simon was quick to respond and friendly in his approach while supporting us with our house purchase. He worked to get us the best mortgage rates throughout the process, even applying for new products so that we always had the best rates. We really felt like he was on our side. We’ve recommended Simon to friends since this, and would recommend again.

Couldn’t be happier with all aspects of the move. Everyone in the team at Ocean downend who dealt with our case was excellent and could not have done more for us. Lisa and Sadie specifically would always keep myself and my partner in the loop as to what was happening with the move and always pushing it along ensuring things didn’t stagnate. Would answer the phone immediately or if on another call I never had to wait more than a few minutes for a call back.Simon our mortgage advisor (who I reviewed separately) and Claire made everything so straightforward financially and all options were always laid out clearly. Nicola & Clare with the legal side were excellent and always happy to explain anything that we might have been confused about - we were never made to feel out of our depth or stupid.Finally a massive thanks to Lawrence as ultimately the buck stops with you as you’re the boss! Service when picking up keys was not very welcoming. Asked in a very blunt way if I had the cash for appliances we were buying. Was not very friendly at this point. There was no congrats in buying the property. (Didn't feel special). At the start they were very friendly, but did not like the end when picking up the keys.

Mr. WILLIM JENKINS clifton office the BestI am a stranger here in U.K and it was so hard to find and get a house. I spent lots of days to find one for my family. Also, my english is not good to have a conversation with other people working for letting agency. Mr. William was so nice and every time when I call he spokes slowly to let me understand. First of all the positive: the follow up once a buyer was found was attentive and proactive. Debbie, the move manager, was excellent. However we would never use Ocean Bishopston again as the marketing and pre-sale communication and advice was poor. Response times and accessibility was slow, difficult and somewhat combatative at times. The person we were dealing with did not take well to his opinion being challenged, creating a sense of conflict rather than working for a common goal. But the main issue was that they over-inflated the value, only to advise a reduction in the asking price by £45,000 within 3 weeks of the property coming onto the market. Even in a difficult market this divergence is not what I would expect in terms of quality advice from a local agent that should know their market. We should never have been told, in such uncertain terms, that we could achieve the original asking price “as a minimum, hopefully more” to have it reduced by such a large sum so quickly after the property went onto the market.

Firstly apologies for the late reply, we take comments of this nature extremely seriously, both Sales Directors have reviewed your sale comprehensively, they have met with employees involved to discuss the specific details you have highlighted. Please be assured of our best intentions at all times, we are an independent Bristol business of 40 years, our customer care and indeed local reputation is always the highest priority. Furthermore, each and every seller’s trust and confidence throughout what can sometimes be a protracted and stressful experience is paramount. It is clear on this occasion we have not met our own high standards or yours. For this we apologise unreservedly. Thank you for your feedback regarding your Move manger, she is very happy to have received your positive comments. To your specific point on price, we had anticipated, based on very recent, local comparable sales evidence that this asking price would be achieved and as agreed, it was a price to 'test the market'. However, the market soon after this point had become unpredictable in large part due to varying mortgage rates and importantly consumer confidence. We apologise if this was perhaps an over-optimistic initial asking price. This is in no way common practice, price reduction rates are closely monitored and compared to both local and national averages to ensure we meet our own stringent goal of minimal reductions. Asking prices are always based on the most recent sales evidence along with specific property attributes. None the less, we will never shy from providing best, timely advice. I recently bought a house through Ocean’s Portishead office. My main contact was Matthew Lennon who was professional, efficient, friendly and supportive from the day he showed me around my new house to when I collected my keys. There was a lot of communication between us, always dealt with promptly and to my satisfaction, and he was very cooperative in giving me access to the property on several occasions to measure up for various items. Thanks also to his colleagues Jack and Claire for their help.

I used Ocean many times when viewing houses and their team was excellent. They always gave enough time for me and my partner to look round properly without ever feeling rushed. It took us over a year to find our property so we did a lot of viewings! Curtis & Tom were particularly excellent. Our process was smooth and made a lot easier by the amazing service from Katie throughout the sales process. A big thanks to the whole team.

Ocean have been absolutely brilliant. Looking for a place to live in Bristol is a mammoth task with hideous pitfalls. Dealing with Ocean has been so straight forward and most importantly ethical which is such a breath of fresh air. Not impressed by Ocean Knowle's professionalism or competency.Communication during price negotiation was inconsistent and erratic. Negotiating tactics relied on unrealistic threats and avoidance of discussion. Exceptional lack of security and process upon purchase completion. I walked in and said "I'm here to pick up keys" and was given keys to our house without any ID checks or other verification - Try it yourself, might get a free property out of it!

Jamie-Lauren is a good Tenancy Manager however the company itself is poor. They don't put in hard work to resolve tenant issues but are straight on it when a landlord issue arises. I'd say if you don't have Jamie as your contact whilst renting with Ocean go elsewhere as they just want your £££
