Despite having two years rent readily available in my savings, an impeccable credit rating, and over 25 years of consistent work history, my financial position was not acknowledged.

In this case, the landlord requires all applicants to complete and pass referencing. We provided you with the necessary details, but unfortunately, you declined to complete this process. While we appreciate that you feel confident in your financial position, the referencing stage is a requirement set by the landlord and is an important part of the tenancy process.
We would also like to clarify that we have kept the landlord fully informed throughout and any decisions made including the cancellation of a viewing, were done with their full knowledge and consent.
