Business owners need to wake up and realize big tech platforms like Instagram are nothing but privatized echo chambers for male-dominated elites who create an economic monopoly on lower-class people's lives. This is how the status quo never gets challenged. I say male-dominated elites because despite female billionaires, cisgender women are more vulnerable to wealth inequality and biological disadvantages that keep them subjugated.Male-dominated elites are weaponizing big tech platforms through privatized monopoly to make people divided and conquered. People are getting divided and conquered by not being able to have open discussions about political injustice when their accounts get banned on big tech platforms. This is how male-dominated elites keep their peasants divided and conquered by preventing open discussions online. This is how modern culture has become zombified consumerism when male-dominated elites prevent their peasants from having alternatives that are not these big tech platforms owned by the status quo overlords. These status quo overlords try very hard to make their products look new. But they are usually overpriced and overrated gimmicks to suck people's bank accounts dry. It's a reflection of the west declining when people are being divided and conquered psychologically though class war.I would not take any business seriously if it relies on Instagram. I'm tired of businesses relying on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other big tech platforms owned by Wall Street sellouts who destroy societal stability for profit. Which is why people are having mental health, economic, and refugee crises when insanely wealthy old people in power destroy societal stability for profit. It's people's quality of life being destroyed to keep insanely wealthy old basturds in power. It's complicit people paying taxes to keep this corrupt system going. Which is why we end up with businesses like Instagram having nonexistent customer support service, stolen money from customers, and people promoting Instagram's shady platform.

Easily hackable

Easily hackable, no support or action taken to rectify. Its amazing that a company like this has such a limited approach to reporting a hacked account. They have failed to realise that often hackers disable your settings so you cannot report what has happened via your profile, or prompt an email or password change as a result. There is no official, clear channel as to how you can report you've been hacked as an alternative. Currently a friends account has been completely compromised and there is nothing they can do about it other than forward the details onto a website they found on a journo page that may or may not be actually linked to Instagram. Madness. Avoid completely.

The fact that this company has the audacity to profit from my data and make some stupid old impotence white jerks make billions of it while providing the (so utterly horrible that I can’t even put to words appropriate to trustpilot censorship standards) possible app that keeps on breaking with the worst set of the most degenerate features that are so incredibly behind the amazing innovations done at other companies is a total joke. The fact that one of the biggest and most powerful companies in the world, employing the most brightest and brilliant people out there can’t even make their stupid app literally work without constantly breaking is literally like having someone take a dumb ((there’s meant to be a swear word hear but trustpilot doesn’t let me express the full palette of my emotions)) in your mouth and you swallowing it and asking for more. This is disgusting and I honestly pray to gods that some incredible startup overtakes meta’s market share and actually give something people deserve. Fine, mine my data but at least give a me decent service in return! Yes I realize Mark’s two brain cells can’t give out something truly interesting and innovative and exciting but please god for sake make your app work at least so that when I make a post and write a caption, instagram doesn’t suddenly lag, give error and then shut down entirely. You already have ownership over my entire digital footprint, then at least have the human decency to make me AT THE BARE MINIMUM use your product without errors and lags that (with the scale and reach that your company has) you should not even have in the first place. If some Facebook or meta developer is reading this right now, watch what I say. Just put yourself in my shoes. Imagine the level of frustration that your app has put me through to encourage me to write this review. I am tired of this. Internet is an incredible place and I want to enjoy it like any free spirited technocrat out there, I want to relish on the groundbreaking progress we’ve managed to achieve as a humanity and to fully immerse myself into this exciting and brave technological future. But you’re ruining these dreams. You’re a disabler, not an enabler of innovation. You don’t set industry standards; you fall behind them so catastrophically that you make people use your app (even though they think it’s bluntly (so bad that i can’t even put it on here because trustpilot is too PG) because they have no other choice because you were the first mover. I want to share photos, talk to my friends and watch cute cats videos while I’m procrastinating but you’re just making it so difficult. If the substance of our lives is meaningless and we succumb to the digital versions of ourselves, then AT THE VERY LEAST, make it painless, because all you do is create barriers and make your users (people your harvest billions and billions of data and profit from) frustrated and deeply unfulfilled

Freedom of speech on Instagram, seems to be a joke!! I have had Post taken down where they simply said #LinkedIn.I had another post taken down where it’s simply said. #Beautiful #BeautifulFrance. I have got many more examples like this, including the prayer hands 🙏🏼 sign . Post were taken down as contradictory to Instagrams community guidelines! It’s a joke that this is even happening. On some occasions the review link is not available. On other occasions you click the review link and it says we’ll get back to you within 24 hours and weeks down the line. Nothing has come back. There is no one that you can ring or speak to. I would recommend the platform Redz it’s a growing platform similar to Instagram. I lost all my post on Instagram and all my followers and all the people I was following, they just deleted the whole lot. If they don’t like something they will block you.🙏🏼🇵🇸❤️🇿🇦

WORSE THAN WORST!!!!

I had two accounts. One with India registered number. After i moved to the US, I tried to login to that account and it said "account locked". I tried to login but my India number got disconnected. Now there is no way I can reactivate the account without showing them that it is MY account. To show it is MINE, I need to talk to a damn agent who does not exist !!! It is super annoying,. That was an art account of mine and it took a lot of hardwork to create it and I lost all my followers now due to inactivity.

Hacked account, NO SUPPORT

My account has been hacked for over a week now, I lost everything and I'm a victim of impersonation. Myself and lots of my contacts on Instagram have reported multiple time to Instagram what is happening (the hacker has used my profile to create a new one and send l Bitcoin spam to all my contacts). Instagram is just not helping, if anything is supporting the hacker just by not taking this seriously at all. Is such an invasion, he has all my family pictures and all my family and friends contacts. I have a baby of 13 months old and we were creating some memories on Instagram too. I have reported to the Police, but I am worried and I don't feel safe at all. I'll never do another account on Instagram and I would advice against. No support and no people working behind it, which means you are on your own if anything goes wrong. Also how the heck my Instagram was hacked? I barely use it! I could give less then 1 star if I could.

It says 'we've sent a code' but it doesn't arrive... repeat... So tedious. Really don't get the attraction. Also I see from lack of response to reviews that they don't care at all about UX.

There is no chance that a company that completely lacks respect and desire to help its customers will survive in the long term. I run a business and have tried to advertise but also had my ad account hijacked which I noticed when they started withdrawing money from my account and I then tried to get in touch with META to get my ad account back which was completely impossible and you just click around without getting any further so I had to simply remove my cards from META and then start the process of trying to get my money back which turned out to be completely impossible although after 6 months I managed to get someone to speak to at META.Then META informs me that they have paid back my money, which they didn't and I had to argue and click around for months without getting my money back and META who thought I had received it, so I finally chose to report META to the police and then I left to the bank with my police report and finally got my money back.What is most tragic is that when META's platforms have nowhere to turn when you get hacked, which has resulted in the creation of a whole industry for criminals who make a living by hijacking accounts when they know that we don't get any help from META then they contact their victims via other social platforms and demand money to return the account.I now have an Instagram account that has been hacked for 3 weeks but have not yet been able to get hold of anyone at META.Imagine if people had been able to get help, this industry with criminals would not have grown up and I don't understand how META could become so big when it is run in the same way as a scam company. I really hope they come up with an alternative because I don't want to advertise on META anymore

One star for Instagram is one to many! If it would be possible to grade Instagram, I would give them -5 ... so 5 below zero (me being mild!). Their recent upgrade made it - the lady in my early fifties I am, with my 8 year old and totally perfect functioning and whit lots of love cared for Iphone 6 - impossible for me to take part in their Instagram program. No more contact with my children and nearest family members and friends ... So I have to by a new Iphone? Are you nuts? II haven’t got the money to by a new one! My old one is still functioning and cared for! Why the heck should I buy a new one? Only because you, Instagram, makes it impossible for me reach to my loved ones? I DON’T THINH SO!!! Severe security failures

My account of 12 years was hacked, phone number and email changed. They have now made my profile public which contains many photos of my child. It was set to private previously as i do not want to share photos with anyone i dont know due to safety reasons for my child. Now any pervert on the Internet has access to this. The 'help' pages just go around in circles and of no actual use.No one to actually speak to so i just have to accept that photographs of my child are now online for everyone to see? I thought Instagram was a secure platform but obviously not. They know that this is happening and being a tech company have the means to resolve it - they just dont care.Huge privacy breach and not protecting users.

As a dedicated counsellor who supports those in need, Instagram is an indispensable tool for connecting with my followers and directing them to my website. I offer valuable insights on coping with mental illness and share inspiring quotes. However, I have come across numerous reviews from people highlighting how Instagram has adversely impacted small businesses and those striving to make a positive impact around the world, including mine.I am changing my name as I prepare to get married, and this could be the cause of the ban on my Instagram account. However, I have also experienced hacking attempts in the past, which could be another factor affecting my account. Despite these challenges, I have taken the necessary steps to resolve this issue by seeking support from Instagram. It has been four days since I reached out to them, still waiting for a response or resolution.Instagram's algorithm favours only the rich and famous. It often suggests using their hashtags or paid advertising to promote posts, but the results are often disappointing. I have tried this in the past, and despite investing a significant amount of money, my posts only received one like and no new followers. In addition, Instagram encourages using the Meta app, which I have been using to improve my presence on the platform. What is most upsetting is seeing the support of vanity and sexual content of very young women/girls and even men/boys. I have received messages or advertisements on both Instagram and Threads showing half-naked individuals, where you can pretty much see all genitalia. I have reported the accounts only to receive a message from Instagram that they see no violations and have not shut down the account.Yet, I am a legitimate counsellor, supporting people in need, and I get shut down. Social media/Instagram/Threads: all platforms are corrupt. It is truly destroying the world. It's so disappointing to see Instagram support evil over good. My advice. Stop using social media.

Instagram will refuse to provide users their personal data specifically based on article 15 of GDPR but not excluding other local, European union level and international level laws and regulations. I have also paid for an ad block to an account they refuse to elaborate on why was it closed nor are they showing will to refund me for the time being. So not only did they steal my data they stole my money too. Luckily businesses can be sued.Extra question: Why is meta allowing the imagery of mutilited minors, racist and violent language but blocking access to accounts that speak against it?

Instagram is low followers unfriendly. Instagram dislikes people actually exposing high followers accounts for BS.For example, just a week ago I got restricted by Instagram because I called out an account with more than 600k+ followers for posting incorrect information about a product they're selling. The account is "heat" and they sell mystery boxes. Several items that they put in these boxes are easily obtainable for less than what they claimed in their posts. It doesn't matter if it was intentional or by accident, it is shady by them and still ongoing.How did Heat and Instagram react? They removed my comment and restricted me. I guess this is what they call selected deletion or silencing. The fact that IG restricted me already says enough. My comment contained no foul language, just purely calling them out that I found several items that can be bought for less than that they're claiming and that they should explain themselves before they actually get sued.Summed up, IG caters only to the influential and cash cows and will make their hands dirty for them.

Instagram has gone massively down hill! I’ve had the app since I was young but the privacy on Instagram is shocking! The amount of creeps I’ve had to deal with is unbelievable now I’ve actually been fighting a 5 year case with a stalker who found me on Instagram and ruined my life thankfully he’s just gone to jail for a couple of years but he made loads of fake accounts of me and other girls literally spreading false rumours and destroying are reputation but I was the main target. Instagram will not take the fake accounts down! My address was baited my friend and family got baited and he tried to pimp me out! He even started posting CP and I’ve reported the accounts over 200 times in the space of 5 years probs even more and they make silly excuses of “it’s covid we don’t have enough people to review the forms” or as soon as I send the form I get an email and they have rejected it in the same second. The impact of this situation is still messing with me yet Instagram still won’t help and everything is still up and running it’s disgusting. Instagram and the people who work there do not care about anything apart from the influencers I see influencers all the time crying about there account been banned for 2 days then they always get it back. I no longer post on instagram I just have an account with nothing on it to keep reporting all the accounts.
