I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and all the team at John Shepherd. I knew that as soon as I signed with the team that the process would be smooth and pain free. And indeed it was!!!!If you think all estate agents are the same then do reconsider. We had buyers that pulled out of our sale but even when this happened, the team worked tirelessly and I knew I was in safe hands.All of the team including Lauren, Lisa, Callum and any one else I may have missed off are great to work with and stop at nothing to give you a good service.

GoogleBe very carefull when using this company, they lie to costumers and are extremmely unproffesional, if you are a landlord and this company is managing your property, call them and pretend you are interested you may get a surprise. The staff is unable to be accountable, and they lie instead of being proffesional.

GoogleThey ask for advance money for references. What references ? No other company in Uk ask for £300 for clients references. If you are new in Uk they ll loot you. By law you can’t take advance rent even. …

Well, people at John Shepherd try to work well and professionally, however, at my leaving the house I've sensed they wanted to have part of my deposit unnecessarily. Perhaps this is something they like doing a lot in the UK, but it hurts to pay £80 to replace one lighting bulb, or £300 for cleaning only three spots around the house.

After putting our house up for sale with John Shepherd (following two agents that was less that useless) we knew we had made the right choice. From the very start they were pro-active, professional and helpful. It wasn’t long then before the viewings started coming in and they secured us a sale. Although we had many challenges along the way with useless solicitors and a very difficult buyer, Gurdev, Shannon, Harry, Sophie, Jordan and Abigail all worked extra hard to keep everything on track. If you are looking to move house I would highly recommend John Shepherd, Shirley. These guys go above and beyond and are a pleasure to deal with!

My son’s rental application was pulled after 2 wks for inadequate reasons , a £200 deposit was paid. Property since re-marketed at higher price ( central Birmingham) Very unprofessional and not the ‘excellent customer service’ they promise to deliver.

Thank you for your review, it is never our intention to withdraw applications from a property, however in this circumstance we feel enough opportunity was given to complete the necessary application. We feel the reasons were not inadequate, as ample and clear instructions were given in what was needed to do to pass the referencing checks. We are sorry that you feel this way, it is unfortunate that the market is so buoyant and things move very quickly!

allAgents"We have been fatally scammed..."
We have been fatally scammed by this "agency". WE DO WARN EVERYONE before proceeding with them, as the problems never arise before signing the contract. It has been an absolute nightmare since barely a year ago decided to move somewhere else. Our minimum stay was over by then. They have completely stolen our deposit, leaving us in a critical financial situation after having a baby and both of us lost our jobs because of Covid. As an example, they quoted £900 for a job that can be easily done for £100 (we indeed found many contractors that can prove this). We have been completely helpless. Please, stay away from these unethical and heartless people, they can ruin your life as they did to us.

GoogleVery bad form John Shepherd! Made a service request back on 19th November 2022 and still awaiting their response over 6 weeks on (and this was to their management team)! Calling this agency dynamic and responsive would be a gross exaggeration. You've got my emails and telephone number so don't be shy and call me!

Selling a large, grade II listed, 16th century house was always going to be a challenge in these times of energy efficiency and modern styling, so it was a pleasant surprise when a buyer was quickly found. However, that sale fell through on the planned day of completion when my buyer's buyer couldn't fund his purchase. I had moved out two days earlier so an empty house went back on the market. Again a buyer was found reasonably quickly but then the challenges of listing, planning permissions, land issues, etc took a long time to tackle. In the end we completed just before Christmas.Harry and Gurdev from John Shepherd were regularly in touch, always with a sense of optimism, and steered the sale through the various difficulties, not least the intransigence of certain solicitors. Especially welcome was avoidance of non-serious buyers tramping regularly through the house; credentials were closely examined and only serious buyers allowed into the process.All in all, John Shepherd handled everything to my satisfaction.
