Overall, I have to admit the experience was rather mixed. During the middle of our tenancy, we were disappointed and frustrated with having to wait around 3 months for the boiler to be fixed during the winter….miscommunications with plumbers/contractors James Laurence sent in on different visits, never really fixing the problem. Eventually it was deemed that the boiler had to be replaced altogether. Once that was resolved, it was smooth sailing. Charlie Rogers also took over as our point of contact and things went a lot smoother. She had a very friendly demeanour and is a good asset to the company.

​Very different service offering to most other estate agent, in that they genuinely are focused on what is best for your business or personal profile. In my case i was making my first venture into the buy to let space and their sales & lettings team were not aggressive at all in ensuring all services flow through them but rather that i was making the best decision for my buy to let business. Their focus was ensuring that i get my portfolio started and targeted markets that would ultimately grow my business. I also found their lettings team to offer the best rates in their geographical location, so although i didn't purchase my property from James Laurence i was more than happy to let through them. I also found their feedback and viewing system fairly seamless and easy to pick. Would very much recommend as a buyer, saler, landlord or tenant.

I rented from them 2 years ago when I first came to Birmingham. It was like a breath of fresh air. I have been renting for 30 years, so I do have some knowledge of the situation out there. I can categorically and unequivocally say, they are the most Honest and professional agent I have dealt with. I always worry when I come back from abroad, about having to deal with agents again. We all have our own horror stories. Trust me when I say, your worries are over. Extremely pleasent staff at all times, Honest, professional. Shannon has exceptional customer service skills. It was a pleasure dealing with her. With the new law from the first of June, agents are now trying other ways to get money from you. Whatever James Laurence decide, you can trust them, knowing it would always be done with the utmost integrity. Do not look elsewhere, if you are renting.

EDIT: In response to the comment from James Laurence implying that this is a made up review, I quote an extract from an email from a Senior Sales and Lettings Manager at the company to do with this property: 'Sorry again to be the bearer of the bad news regarding the vendors/developers pulling out of the sale transactions of the houses at *Redacted*. As I mentioned when we spoke Its disappointing for all concerned, not least at this point in to the transaction where finally in roads were being made between the solicitors. The choice to sell at higher prices to other parties through another estate agent was unexpected and not something we would have agreed to. I re-iterate we were not involved in that process of re-valuing for them and any part in re-selling. We refunded the reservation fee straight away, please confirm you received.' Looks worse for the company that they are trying to pretend that this didn't happen. I followed this up by speaking to the new estate agent and developers to find out exactly what had happened. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Terrible estate agent. Took £1000 reservation fee from me on a new build property, then strung me along for months before then losing the property to another estate agents due to the way the developers felt that they had handled the sale. They also knew that this property was being listed through another estate agents at least two weeks before they eventually told me (that the property was gone and that there was nothing that I could do about it). Didn't even have the honesty to communicate what was happening as I can only assume that they were trying to cover themselves as to how they lost the property. This ended up costing me more in legal fees as I was continuing to push forward when they knew that the sale at that stage was unlikely to go ahead. Unfortunately the type of estate agent that reinforces the poor impression of the industry.
