Very unimpressed with Dixons service in our recent house sale. First buyer they found wanted a buy-to-let mortgage but couldn’t get one so dropped out. We then dropped the price of our property for a quick sale, as we had already committed to an onward purchase, and we got 5 good offers as a result. Despite telling us that they were ‘working for us’ and that ‘the highest offer isn’t necessarily the best one to take’ Dixons proceeded to go with the highest offer - without even asking us if we were happy with that - a client who we soon realized had no real intention of going through with the purchase and we asked them to move on to the next highest offer. Dixons refused, saying we needed to “give him time” even though, after having been approved for his mortgage he had refused to sign it off saying that he wanted to view the property once more, which should have started alarm bells ringing for them too given that we had already expressed our concerns that he would not proceed with the purchase. Another week went by with him ignoring requests to come in and complete the paperwork before he finally admitted he wasn’t going to proceed, as we had suspected all along that he wouldn’t. Only then did Dixons try to contact the other 4 people who had made offers but, with more than three weeks having now passed, they were unsuccessful in contacting any of them. Then, they recommended an investor of theirs, presumably out of desperation to complete their target of finding ‘a buyer’ so they could claim their fees, who said he would purchase but at a much lower price than it was advertised for. Because we didn’t want to lose our onward purchase we reluctantly agreed to sell to him but, had Dixons ‘worked for us’ as they claimed to do, and acted on our request to move on to other clients we would likely have sold the property for a lot more. Often, email questions we asked about the process went unanswered and then, two days after we finally moved, we received a phone call from Dixons sales progressor asking when we were going to drop off the keys as the buyer was waiting to gain access. We had to explain that we had dropped off the keys and deeds on the day of completion. We were somewhat dismayed that she had called us without first checking with the other staff if we had brought them in. Because of their handling of our sale we feel like we were cheated out of tens of thousands of pounds. We certainly won’t ever use Dixons again and wouldn’t recommend anyone else do either.

Since being in the house she is still on hand to answer any questions we have. I would certainly recommend Dixon’s for lettings based on my experience

Not happy with the service provided by Dixons for our house sale. At the outset they told us that they were "working for us" and that "the highest offer isn't necessarily the best one to take". Yet, after receiving five good offers for our property, we were pushed to go with the highest one, from a client who it was obvious to us was a timewaster yet, when we suggested moving on to the next offer they told us we should give the client the opportunity to complete his paperwork. He later pulled out of the purchase and by then the other four people who had offered had either found something else or didn't reply to enquiries and because we were in a hurry to move as we had already committed to another purchase, we ended up having to sell to one of their recommended investors, at a loss of around £40,000. Staff often didn't respond to emails and trying to call them was very hit and miss. Definitely would not use Dixons ever again.

Do not rent from Dixon! I am currently suffering because of their lies. When viewing the property, Amber (Yardley branch) assured me certain issues would be fixed. She then called.me to say they had been. As soon as I moved in I realised she had lied. The shower floods and the kitchen has a leak which is now flooding the floor. It has been 2 weeks since I reported it, still nothing from countrywide. Avoid Dixon, Countrywide and save yourself future hassle.

Faye will list your home and get a buyer and Zoe will hand-hold, trouble-shoot, metaphorically bang heads together and keep everything on trackThese guys are as cool as cucumbers and won't let you downEstate agents get a bad rep. Rented flat - Longley Walk, Chelmsley Wood.My partner rented a flat from Dixons for 12 months, on check-in the property had various marks and smudges and was far from pristine condition. I myself have worked in property lettings for 11 years and I deal with all aspects from check in, check out and releasing deposits on a daily basis, so I know exactly what is and is not acceptable. The flat had tiny electric wall heaters that were not wired in and did nothing to heat the flat, these heaters were not mentioned on the EPC as it had Blown air heating when it was carried out and would mostly likely fail a new EPC, you could see your breath in the flat it was that cold. Various repairs and the poor heating was reported to Dixons many times and even mentioned during an inspection but nobody ever got back to him even when he called up to chase. Before check out myself, my partner and his parents cleaned the flat, it was left in a cleaner condition than when he moved in. He then received an email from Dixons to say the landlord would like £190 towards cleaning. The deposit was on the insured scheme where the landlord holds the deposit and pays a membership to insure it with MyDeposits, this means MyDeposits always sit in favor of the landlord as they are the paying member not the tenant. With this in mind we disputed the deposit and sent photographic evidence of the cleaning and condition plus the emails shared, the deposit should have been released in full but they still took £145 of it and awarded the landlord. My advice is avoid renting from Dixons and always avoid signing up for a deposit on an insured scheme, the tenant will never be in a fair position.

Used the Yardley branch to sell our property. We started discussing possibility of selling about 6 months ago but still had reservations as we hadn't decided when we wanted it to go on the market. Faye from Yardley branch was amazing, she kept in touch with us regularly and when we were ready to sell, she made the whole process so easy for us. Naomi from the same branch arranged viewings and she was so friendly and professional. We ended up with a serious buyer within 3 days of the house going on the market. Faye and Naomi are definitely an asset to the Yardley branch.
